Down South CaJJun Eats was founded by twin brothers Jahmaal and Jermaine Dumes in the Spring of 2017. While Studying at Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX they decided to take a leap of faith. Originally from Beaumont, TX, they felt a tremendous part of their lives was missing in Austin. And that was Crawfish!!Coming from a family of cooks, they’ve always dreamed of starting a restaurant in their home state. With the help and support of family and friends, they were able to make this dream come alive.We take pride in our authentic style of cooking and strive to give you the full Down South CaJJun experience with great food, great people, and a great time! Attended the Mother's day brunch. They handed me a rose upon entry. Great food, drinks and music. Staff was friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable.

I want to love Asadas, and maybe because this time it was Mother's day... Told our server we wanted the buffet for brunch and then never saw her again for several minutes. No direction at all, so we went to the buffet. No plates, and so I went inside to the cold salad area and found a plate, only to go back to the buffet where there were 6 different stations of where there should be food. Opened all the lids to find crumbs of food. This was at 11 AM. About 10 minutes later, they started to refill the dishes. My husband went to the line to look for sugar for his coffee, and the person working said, ask your server. Would have been ok, but we hadn't seen her since the beginning. Come to find out, the coffee was already sweet. That could have been fixed if there were some direction or server around. I understand that it is a buffet brunch, but we don't have to be completely ignored if you think we aren't going to tip well. The food was just ok. The fruit and salad looked great! If we go again, I will definitely order from the menu.
