Merely terrific where the setting, staff and cuisine make for fine dining. Quiet environment where you can really talk. And, where else might you hear Dave Brubeck's Take Five playing softly in the background? Re the food: Oysters Rockefeller still the best in the area. We had the special Steak au Poivre, which was perfectly cooked and the accompanying truffle mashed potatoes were plate-licking good. Oh, don't miss the best asparagus you will eat. Third visit and each has been a reason to look forward to the next.

As always, the food is great. Arguably, this is a "hole in the wall". But, it is a true gem.

Have dined in the Oar House for the past 30 years. The impeccable service, food and ambience has been consistently excellent changed with the various managers and staff. Kristin was our server last night. She was very professional and accommodating on spite of the place was packed. And Chris who has also bartended the past 30 years was on top of her game as usual

We had a wonderful experience. This restaurant has been remodeled in the best way! Cauliflower appetizer was yummy! The filet with chimichurri was cooked just like I asked the chimichurri was very fresh. We finished it off with crème brûlée. I can never pass it up when it is on the dessert menu. The cocktails here were thoughtfully and well made! We will be back!
