We were there to celebrate Mother’s Day early. Waiter seemed annoyed to be there, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing him. Damper on the experience.

The shrimp dishes had tough shrimp and my pasta and prawns was watery. Service was good. When we first were seated the room was nice and we could talk. Midway through our dinner a huge party was seated and were very loud—should have been out in a separate room

Everything was above and beyond, our server was fantastic and my husband felt special for his birthday! Great overall experience, definitely not surprised though. Lake Elmo Inn always does a fantastic job!

As always, dinner was delicious! We had the sunnies, shrimp, and of course, the delicious wild rice soup. My date enjoyed the chocolate cake for dessert. So many wonderful choices. My favorite restaurant!

Wonderful brunch with so many great choices and inclusions. Great way to start a Sunday with warm caramel rolls and a glass of champagne. Then come things like shrimp cocktail or yogurt parfait, followed by breakfast -- we had the cinnamon french toast and omelet. Next is the entree -- salmon and ravioli were both done to perfection. I greatly appreciated the chef accommodating my food choices. Service also was very good and friendly! This is a place that makes you feel like you've had a special experience.

From the time we were greeted at the door, to our server, to our exit, the staff was friendly and wonderful. Our server was awesome!! The bus-staff was friendly as well.

Amazing food and the staff is so friendly. We had my son's birthday dinner there. Only negative is the noise level in the glass room was horrible. We couldn't hear eachother. It was so deafening it was causing a migraine. The staff was great and moved us to another room.

If you’re fortunate enough to have Judy as your waitress and Eric overseeing everything you’ll have a great dining experience. I tried the Cajun pork chops after a long hiatus, and they simply are not the same as years ago. Not as juicy, evenly spiced or overall tasty. Years ago - fantastic Cajun replication, but today, palatable, just not fantastic. Soooo, it’ll be back to the tournedos and filet for my bride and I, with the always superb Caesar salad and onion straws accompaniment. We miss the brown butter sage rendition of the butternut squash ravioli. Much better than the current bleu cheese crème sauce. But the menu changes with the clientele and I guess we’ve become accustomed to old favorites but not some of the updates. That being said, Lake Elmo Inn has been a family favorite for many years with most menu items being first rate quality and well prepared. John Schultz helped my bride and I plan our wedding reception as the very first affair at the Event Center in 2007. So, you can trust the professional and experienced staff here to insure you have a memorable dining experience.

Always a nice experience - The Lake Elmo in is a true local gem for those of us looking for some fine dining in our locale near Stillwater/Oak Park Heights/Lake Elmo area. We also went there for a New Year's Brunch which was great.

Our waitress was very friendly, cheery and kind but would've been impressed if she presented additional beverage options for my brunch companion who is not a drinker and doesn't like sparkling grape juice. Our bus boy never asked if she was done with her dishes, assuming she was done, even though she hadn't put her dish off to the side. My Guiness stew and corned beef hash were great, but there was almost no meat on my two lamb chops and it was undercooked and so tough to cut through with only a butter knife that I had to chew the meat off with my teeth but ended up with more fat and bone than actual meat. The mustard glaze was a nice touch but almost no taste to the actual meat--not even the expected "gamey-ness" of lamb. It tasted like turkey or unglazed ham. Also the red potatoes and carrots, while tasty, were undercooked. The caramel rolls, scones, and croissants were wonderful as always. I liked the dessert options (although the pecan pies would be better with a thinner crust in relationship to the filling), but I wish there were more non-alcoholic dessert options for my brunch companion. The waiter/waitress or menu should always mention non-alcoholic options being available as well as allowing one to ask to leave out an ingredient they don't care for in their entrees, or at least ask to put the sauce on the side--like for the halibut. Just one line on the menu would be perfect. Also there was a rather long wait between the breakfast course and the main course without any apology or commentary to thank us for our patience. I'm not trying to be annoying with all of these comments, but at $45 a head I expect a lot and want to help improve future service. I noticed several plates of my neighbors that were only half-eaten--maybe they were full, but they might have similar feelings of things that could've been slightly improved for the better. I want to come again next year, but I felt bad for my brunch companion and was disappointed in the rack of lamb.

Overpriced for what you get. Steak was tough, pototoes under-cooked. No flavor. Service was adequate. Been going on-off for over 30 years. This was so disappointing. Yet the prices were high.

This was a great outing. We took our brother and sister-in-law to lunch to celebrate his 92nd birthday. Our delightfully spunky waitress immediately suggested we start the celebration off with champagne! She provided a nonalcoholic variety to our guests because they don’t imbibe. It was such a nice start to a lovely meal, everything was delicious.

Lake Elmo Inn is elegant, quiet, very well run. Staff have been there for a long time, know how to treat customers, always attentive and upbeat. Food is very well prepared and delicious. The chef is amazing, food is displayed and presented in a five star restaurant style. We have been to Lake Elmo Inn many times, and would recommend it to everyone.

The Lake Elmo Inn has four dining rooms to offer private parties. Our Kohler room can accommodate groups up to 50 people. The Oak room holds up to 70 people and can be separated into a semi-private area for smaller group of 35 or less.
