Excellent experience. We came to DC for our anniversary and wanted a special evening and the Lafayette delivered. Our server Kenny was attentive and friendly. The chef provided a delicious amuse bouche to start, tiny but delicious. From the cocktails and wine, to appetizers all the way to dessert…superb. I would recommend and definitely rerun next time we’re in DC.

Exceptional Service Saves the Day at The Lafayette! I recently celebrated my graduation at The Lafayette with my daughter and three friends, and while the food didn't quite live up to my expectations, the service we received from William was truly outstanding. After a warm welcome from Kathy, William took care of our table, and despite the kitchen's misstep (all five dishes arrived cold and inedible), he handled the situation with professionalism and grace. His attentive and courteous nature made up for the disappointment, and I appreciate his efforts to rectify the issue. While the food didn't meet my standards, William's exceptional service and Kathy's warm welcome have earned my respect. The Lafayette is fortunate to have such dedicated staff, and I'm willing to give them another chance in the future.

Very disappointing. While the service andsetting were fine, the food was universally awful. Very small portions for the price, served cold, either tasteless or gagging spicy. My wife tried 3 different white wines and hated them all. We skipped dessert and went home for another meal!

Enjoyed breakfast at this historical hotel during a weekend away stay. Service was prompt, attentive but unintrusive. Eggs benedict and pancake breakfast with side of fresh berries were not only on delicious, but very fresh. Coffee was perfect. Diningroom is beautiful with comfortable seating. Would go again in a heartbeat.
