I was unhappy that I waited 35 minutes for baked chicken that was very tough. The boeuf bourguignon was great the cassoulet good as well. Service was fine

I was looking forward to a nice French cuisine dining experience and it was also to celebrate a birthday. We ordered our Escargo and though it was prepared well in pesto sauce, it did not sit on a pastry that we were accustomed, but was offered bread. The escargo was good but as tasty as I would have liked,,,lacked garlic taste. The risotto appetizer was tasty, though the rice was not as soft as I had expected. The braised beef shoulder had a thick sauce that was a bit too thick and salty. The braised beef was not as tender and braised as I would have liked. The duck entree was tasty and light. The duck though was a bit tough. The service, though, was good and friendly. Overall, I was disappointed by the food. I do like French cuisine, but tonight the chef must have been off. I do not think I would come back again due to this experience, but might give it a try if I hear the preparation of the food is better.

My wife and I enjoyed it. Great service, great food. We have been to La Voile on Newbury several times. First time in Brookline did not disappoint! Nice bday dinner. Merci!

Loved the vegan dish. And Andreas was very good as the initial dish is with lentil that is not vegan(as made with chicken broth) but he made sure to replace it. Also excellent vegetarian french onion soup.

The food was fantastic and the staff are incredible, everyone is super friendly and helpful. They also recently updated their menu, very happy to see le casoulet on the list. Additionally, they continue to make phenomenal classics that they’ve had for a while, such as their foie gras and escargot. Highly recommend both and the restaurant overall!

The most romantic and intimate restaurant my partner and I have been to in a long time. Our service was excellent and they helped us pair our meals with a beautiful red wine. Our food was delicious and they surprised us with a glass of Armagnac at the end! We will definitely be coming back I’m so happy we found this gem of a place!

I love this French Bistro. The service is always great and the atmosphere is comfortable. It gets more busy as the evening goes on so I tend to come in early when it is quieter and then ease in to the business as the evening continues. I particularly love the bread and the P.E.I. mussels cooked with the Saffron. The salads and the soups are great, as are the entrees. This is one of my go to places for a great meal at a reasonable price.

I will add this place to my favorites list. I enjoyed dining there recently. I ordered a la carte. My friend did the pre fixe Boston Week menu. It was all good. I’m definitely coming back. The service was excellent! Thank you!

We had an enjoyable dinner out. If there is a neighborhood bistro in a suburb of Paris I imagine it would feel look and taste like la Voile in Brookline. Our food was very good, the service outstanding and the vibe very bistro - esque. This was our first visit and we will go back.

Starters appeared surprisingly quickly. Mains appeared surprisingly slowly. Is it asking too much to get some more bread in between? Food was good and portions ample. Service welcoming even if empty water glasses were never refilled.

Our food was delicious and service was great. When we arrived only two tables were taken but we were walked to a table right next to the bar. Why? The noisiest spot? And there were many quieter and nicer locations available, so we chose one of those. I think that offering one of the better tables in the beginning would be a kinder gesture.

We love La Voille! It's like having a real Parisian Cafe in Brookline. The food is fantastic, the wine is great, the ambience is lovely and if you go there a few times, the kind staff even remember you and what you like to eat/drink!

We've eaten at La Voile before; this dinner was for our anniversary. Once again it was a wonderful meal. For starters, the restaurant is quiet -- a rarity these days. The staff is friendly and professional. And the food is outstanding, of course. We had escargot, pâté, two versions of duck (roasted and confit), and a bottle of a good pinot noir. All cooked perfectly, delicious, and very well presented. My wife's dinner came with a choice of dessert, which she ordered. But they didn't serve it. I'd mentioned when I made the invitation that it was our anniversary, and the dessert they served instead was a multi-layer heart-shaped cake with a candle, garnished with a large strawberry carved into a rose and a lovely chocolate. Just an outstanding dinner start to finish...for sure we'll be back.

La Voile has good, traditional French fare, and pretty good, amiable service, but the entry/reception circulation is a nightmare, especially in the winter, and particularly for table near the reception area. We were unfortunately seated by the door, and were blasted with cold air every time a group came in, the waiters had to leave the dining room to go through the vestibule to provide service to those seated upstairs, and back down again. It's the worst situation I've ever witnessed in an otherwise reputable restaurant that I might return to, but NOT until this is remedied. NEVER accept a table anywhere near the entry/reception area, or you will be crowded by arriving diners coming in, who push through the tiny vestibule, announce themselves, mill around waiting until the host takes them to a table, which often means pushing back through the tiny vestibule to go upstairs, often confronting another group pushing through the tiny vestibule to announce their arrival, on and on - you get the picture. They need to hire an architect and come up with a solution to isolate the coming and going from the dining room. All of this hubbub and the accompanying blasts of cold air with every coming and going made what could have been a lovely Saturday evening meal a positively miserable experience.

The food was delicious as usual. If you visit please please try the quiche, it is sooo good. Also the rib steak... I have no words for that. But most importantly THE STAFF, the are amazing, bless their souls because they are the kindest and most helpful out there!

Lackluster service. We waited 10 minutes at our table before being greeted (barely a hello) and ordering our drinks. Waiter brought a complementary round of champagne which was nice (but one in our party of four was not drinking alcohol). We had to ask for bread. It was brought with no butter. Had to ask for butter which took forever. Food was good, but service was apparently so lousy the waiter brought us another round of complementary dessert drinks. Was surprised that their French was very limited. A disappointing experience.

From positives, the menu had great wine choices and the venue itself had a very cozy atmosphere with soothing background music. On the other hand, food was utterly disappointing. Green salad with fried goat cheese was pretty forgettable, while mushroom risotto was flavorful, it didn’t use the right kind of Arborio rice. The most disappointing was their roasted duck breast even when served medium was very dry, and fingerling potatoes that came with it lacked any flavor, not even salt. Overall, the dishes were too simple, not in a good way.

Lower dining room has no ambience, the tables are crowded. It’s hard to have an intimate conversation bad place for a date. The mussels were not good They charge first class prices for a second class restaurant

How disappointing that the food misses the mark! Soup served on an ice cold dish. Stock was bland. It needed salt and a splash of sherry or brandy to live up to it's name of French onion soup. Fois gras pate was served directly from the refrigerator!! No french bread only small rolls. Potential is there, but execution is poor. This restaurant has been in business long enough to have figured some of this out.

The main dish was good. The salad and the soup was nothing special. The dessert was really bad. It tasted like from the next supermarket. This had nothing to do with French cuisine.
