La Garrigue est un bistrot français, situé au 31 Jeffrey Street, à deux pas de la célèbre Royal Mile d'Édimbourg ainsi qu'à quelques minutes de la gare Waverley. Le restaurant sert des spécialités culinaires françaises du Languedoc. Il propose donc une cuisine française faite maison, agrémentée d'une touche de modernité. L'excellente connaissance de cette région par le propriétaire et chef Jean Michel Gauffre permet de présenter le meilleur de la cuisine française pastorale et de créer une ambiance qui évoque le sud de la France. Depuis son ouverture en 2001, La Garrigue a fait l'objet de nombreux éloges de la part des critiques culinaires. C'est le lieu idéal pour un dîner ou un souper intime ainsi que pour de petits événements de groupe. La carte y est changée presque quotidiennement. En dehors de ses délicieuses recettes pour le dîner et le souper, ce restaurant propose un menu du jour. Sa riche carte des vins réserve une place de choix au Languedoc, plus grande région viticole de France.

My wife and I dined for dinner. The meal and service were both excellent. Fresh and quality preparation was evident. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine pairing was excellent.

Food was superb as was the service. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Wine was delicious and waiter was very knowledgeable. I will be back again!!

Delicious, authentic French food, which was beautifully presented. The service was excellent and the suggested wine tasted wonderful and was served at perfect temperature. The decor is very pleasant, with a slightly rustic feel. It is only a 5 minute walk from Waverley station.

Every element of our 3 course lunch from the a la carte menu was excellent, in this oh so French restaurant. The very good service was attentive yet unobtrusive.

This is our favourite French restaurant in Edinburgh, and we’ve been coming here several times a year for over a decade. As usual, we had a lovely lunch. We brought a friend with us who had never been, and she was very impressed. She says she’ll definitely go back, and bring her husband next time. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the service impeccable. The special seasonal lunch menu was delicious. All in all, it was a really enjoyable experience.

Amazing food. Beautifully presented. I had to knock one mark off as a mistake with the order. They were very apologetic and willing to change but we stayed with what they'd brought and it was delicious. Everything was perfect. Would love to come again.

Wonderful authentic food and wines from the region. This place is a gem, with great enthusiastic staff. We keeping coming back time after time either for lunch or dinner. This has become one of our favourite places to eat in Edinburgh.

I was rather surprised at how expensive the food is here now. My husband ordered a tarte tatin but was presented with a round of pastry with some apple on top and a dollop of ice cream. It certainly was not a tarte tatin and the presentation was also very poor. Very disappointing for a French bistro restaurant and also considering this dessert cost £15.

The food is, as usual, excellent. My friends were very happy with the two course lunch offer, while I thought the duck was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Always such a comfortable place to go to, especially when there is somethings special to celebrate. Love the atmosphere!

This is an excellent restaurant on Jeffrey Street, Edinburgh, the food is very good and the staff friendly and helpful. There is an excellent wine list also. Our latest visit was very enjoyable although it was on the cold side in the dining area which took away from the experience a little. Will definitely be back though, 5 Stars!

Quality of the food is sensational and terrific value. A pichet of decent Languedoc red wine to share over a really good lunch then off to Murrayfield for the rugby. Bistro food of the highest calibre with friendly efficient service.

I've eaten many times in La Garrigue and always had a good experience. It's one of Edinburgh's little gems. The food is always excellent - and focussed on southern France. While some dishes remain on the menu long-term, the menu is regularly updated. Good choice of wines at reasonable prices.

Every time we have been to La Garrigue we have had a wonderful experience. Therefore on Saturday we were disappointed… My starter was mediocre, and the duck was dry and overcooked… Also the service was not as good as usual, and being in the corner, it was hard to attract attention of the staff. We will go again, but not for a while.
