My experience was great! Had a nice Friday night at Kona Grill. We came for the happy hour, such a good deal! We will be back!

With a group of 5 we found the food quite delicious, albeit pricey. A Prime Rib request of med-rare came out med-well, still delicious, but at $45 and only a small side of mashed potatoes seems a bit pricey. Yellowtail Sushi was sufficient portion and delicious. Meals of Salmon, Chicken sandwich, Fried Cod with Fried rice also delicious but at $40+ each was also a little pricey as taste was not over the top delicious. 5 people with no drinks, no appetizers and only 2 desserts split amongst us was $270 without tip. Unfortunately was not what we expected.

There were fruit flies flying around the table the entire time. Our server told us that the restaurant treats for them but, it is fruit fly season. The server told us that the kitchen was backed up. It took nearly 45 minutes for the food to come out and when it did it was lukewarm. Despite mentioning that a manager would come speak No one ever came. Overall poor service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We made a reservation for 6 pm on Mother's Day but arrived early due to a change in our plans. The place was crowded, and we were seated actually seated a few minutes before our scheduled reservation time. There was a special menu for Mother's Day and some of the dishes were more expensive than we'd anticipated but were able to find suitable fare in our price range. Our server arrived about the same time we'd picked out what we wanted to eat, and we were able to order our meal and drinks at the same time. The drinks arrived fairly soon, but an hour later, we still had no food. When it did arrive, the cheeseburger (which we requested as well-done) was a clearly very pink (probably medium rare!) The sea bass sliders, however, were excellent. (I just wished that there were 3 of them instead of 2.) Fortunately, we ended up getting a significant discount on our meal for waiting so long and for the undercooked cheeseburger. (We were actually not charged for the cheeseburger at all.) I don't think I would make a reservation there again, because after this experience, I can't trust that having a reservation would guarantee being served in a reasonable amount of time. If we'd known that we would be waiting an hour before being served, we would have gone elsewhere.

We went for Mother’s Day with my in laws. We had a 530 reservation. We had to wait bc we came early so I went to the bar to get a drink and the bartender was very slow. It took her about 10 min to even acknowledge me. She was nice and all but very slow. It looked like there was only 1 other bartender which I thought was bad considering how busy they were and the restaurant was packed. Then we finally got abd paid for our drinks and it took so long that my husband and his mom were already seated and even said, “what took you so long?” The waitress was very nice and accommodating but she told us as soon as we were seated that the main courses would take at least 45 minutes to come out. And she was right, that’s just about how long it took. Luckily the food was good. Overall, we had a nice time and made the best of it but I’m not going to be rushing to go back there.

Awesome food quality! The floors could have been cleaned better in between customers but it was crowded when I went. The service was very good and the food was amazing!!

Mother’s Day dinner was subpar to say the least. Hostess set the tone right away with her unpleasant greeting….Our server took 25 minutes to get our non alcoholic drinks….my red sangria from the bar was tart and sour….calamari was flavorless aside from the spicy dipping sauce…kids meals took 40 minutes to come out…. Entrees were ok but definitely not worth their steep prices…. Wanted to order dessert but that would’ve added an extra 45 minutes to our meal…. No hostess said goodbye as we were leaving….We used to love coming to Kona. I know coming to a restaurant on a holiday is a crapshoot but I was disappointed in the overall experience.

First we didn’t receive 2 of our main entrees. Then what food we did receive was cold when it came out . Absolutely the worst Mother’s Day meal possible .
