With a group of 5 we found the food quite delicious, albeit pricey. A Prime Rib request of med-rare came out med-well, still delicious, but at $45 and only a small side of mashed potatoes seems a bit pricey. Yellowtail Sushi was sufficient portion and delicious. Meals of Salmon, Chicken sandwich, Fried Cod with Fried rice also delicious but at $40+ each was also a little pricey as taste was not over the top delicious. 5 people with no drinks, no appetizers and only 2 desserts split amongst us was $270 without tip. Unfortunately was not what we expected.

There were fruit flies flying around the table the entire time. Our server told us that the restaurant treats for them but, it is fruit fly season. The server told us that the kitchen was backed up. It took nearly 45 minutes for the food to come out and when it did it was lukewarm. Despite mentioning that a manager would come speak No one ever came. Overall poor service, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We made a reservation for 6 pm on Mother's Day but arrived early due to a change in our plans. The place was crowded, and we were seated actually seated a few minutes before our scheduled reservation time. There was a special menu for Mother's Day and some of the dishes were more expensive than we'd anticipated but were able to find suitable fare in our price range. Our server arrived about the same time we'd picked out what we wanted to eat, and we were able to order our meal and drinks at the same time. The drinks arrived fairly soon, but an hour later, we still had no food. When it did arrive, the cheeseburger (which we requested as well-done) was a clearly very pink (probably medium rare!) The sea bass sliders, however, were excellent. (I just wished that there were 3 of them instead of 2.) Fortunately, we ended up getting a significant discount on our meal for waiting so long and for the undercooked cheeseburger. (We were actually not charged for the cheeseburger at all.) I don't think I would make a reservation there again, because after this experience, I can't trust that having a reservation would guarantee being served in a reasonable amount of time. If we'd known that we would be waiting an hour before being served, we would have gone elsewhere.

We went for Mother’s Day with my in laws. We had a 530 reservation. We had to wait bc we came early so I went to the bar to get a drink and the bartender was very slow. It took her about 10 min to even acknowledge me. She was nice and all but very slow. It looked like there was only 1 other bartender which I thought was bad considering how busy they were and the restaurant was packed. Then we finally got abd paid for our drinks and it took so long that my husband and his mom were already seated and even said, “what took you so long?” The waitress was very nice and accommodating but she told us as soon as we were seated that the main courses would take at least 45 minutes to come out. And she was right, that’s just about how long it took. Luckily the food was good. Overall, we had a nice time and made the best of it but I’m not going to be rushing to go back there.

Mother’s Day dinner was subpar to say the least. Hostess set the tone right away with her unpleasant greeting….Our server took 25 minutes to get our non alcoholic drinks….my red sangria from the bar was tart and sour….calamari was flavorless aside from the spicy dipping sauce…kids meals took 40 minutes to come out…. Entrees were ok but definitely not worth their steep prices…. Wanted to order dessert but that would’ve added an extra 45 minutes to our meal…. No hostess said goodbye as we were leaving….We used to love coming to Kona. I know coming to a restaurant on a holiday is a crapshoot but I was disappointed in the overall experience.

Despite having Mother’s Day reservations they made us wait for over 30 mins to seat us. Then food took more than an hour to come out even the apps. We got there at 2:15pm and didn’t get our lunch till 4:15pm. No bread or anything to snack on while we waited even though they gave us fair warning that kitchen was backed up.

We went for brunch on Mother's Day and it was absolutely disgusting, horrible, and absolutely disappointing. We had 1pm reservations and didn't get seated until 1:15. When we got seated we didn't get greet by a waitress until about 1:30. We put our orders in and by 1:45 were told that they had no brunch food left even though brunch wasn't over until 2pm. Mind you, had we got seated on time and greeted on time maybe this wouldn't have been the case. But even so, how do you run out of brunch food for an event specifically catered to brunch. Then when we did get our food after the whole ordeal, which was around 2:45 after sitting there waiting for an hour and a half, they had the audacity to serve me something I didn't order that I also have a food aversion to. Unbelievable. And the customer service was absolutely horrible. I'll never be back here again.

Went for a mother's day brunch. When we sat for our reservations we had been informed that there is no modifications on the menu and they were out of various items. We waited for over an hour for our food and it came out cold. When we asked to speak to a manager, he said there was nothing to do. A special day turned into a day of frustration and disappointment.

While we love Kona Grill, we don't not recommend KG for brunch, especially during a big weekend. While the staff and our waitress did everything to make the dining experience pleasurable, the food was lacking. Specifically, the Banana Foster's pancakes tasted microwaved and rubbery. While the batter may have been made in-house, the pancakes definitely were not cooked fresh. Secondly, my "crab" eggs benedict was more of a ham eggs benedict, with a garnish of grab meat. I don't remember any hollandaise sauce and my poached egg kept rolling around the plate. Overall, we'll be back, just not for brunch.

We went for brunch and it was a mistake. With such a small brunch menu you would think they could get the food out in a timely manner, hot and with some taste. Food took too long, came out cold. The pancakes and hash browns literally looked like they had come out of a bag of frozen food. The pancakes were small and rubbery. We were told we couldn’t modify the items on the menu. So everything was preassembled…the breakfast burrito and the Benedict. Couldn’t remove the crab or the sausage. They should probably stay in their lane of lunch and dinner food. The hamburger had by one in our party was tasty.

Absolutely terrible. Food took a whopping 1:20hours to get to our table. The waiter didn’t check on us ONCE. We had to actively seek for an update from other staff. We were going to leave but the food came at the last second. The food was good, can’t knock that, but me and my family will never step foot inside of this terribly managed restaurant.

Mother’s Day brunch. The hostess gave one flower per mother, but my mom and grandma only got one 🤨. Only like 5 options for brunch. Ridiculously overpriced when it seemed like they gave us bananas that weren’t ripe yet, great value pancakes, cheap shortbread cookies, strawberries that tasted like were cut with the same knife they cut some onions with, and more . Nothing was good. Water straight from the tap, and wasn’t offered a choose of still bottled water. We let the server know we had a birthday, she said ok and never came back. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place or the service.

Honestly, not the best meal. Ordered drinks and brunch for Mother’s Day. Food came out quick, but our drinks took forever. We finished our meal before they even came. Waitress stopped by our table two times, and otherwise was nowhere to be found. Crab Eggs Benedict had fully cooked eggs with crab on the side, Country Fried Steak was cooked to oblivion and stone cold eggs with it. We won’t be coming back. Poor service, worse food.

Carlos was excellent as a server. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. NY Strip- full of fat and tough. Poke bowl was all rice. Wave Roll was impressive looking but tasteless. Appetizers were good. Calamari and meatballs. The quality definitely did not warrant the price. $$$$$

Made reservations for Easter brunch. Ordered mimosa’s but the server came back and informed us that they are out of champagne. Not much of an ambience and the tables are were not cleaned well. Food was overpriced for what you get. $36 for a chicken fried steak and an extra $9.99 for what was supposed to be a stack of pancakes. When the pancakes arrived, they were nothing more than 3 reheated frozen mini “Eggo” pancakes. Never in my life have I been served frozen pancakes in a restaurant before. Fastfood hotcakes blows them out of the water!

For a chain restaurant I think they have priced themselves out to high. $25 for a sushi roll is extra. Service however was great. Our server was excellent! Attentive and engaging.

We dined on a Friday evening. I had to change my reservation to add 1 more, and the adjustment was done without a hassle. The waiter was very patient and accommodating. The food was creatively prepared, nicely plated, and entertaining to the palate. The dishes are put together thoughtfully. Don’t come here looking for 2000 calorie dreadnought bombs. Expect classy dishes at a moderate price. I cannot comment on the meat dishes, as I did not order anything with meat.
