The staff at this location is always friendly and helpful. I take clients there when I'm able and I keep coming back because the staff makes the experience so much more enjoyable.

Reservation was at 6pm. Seated at 7:30pm. Food came out at 8:40pm. Worst experience ever. Prime rib was horrible. Didn’t accept. Just had to leave.

It was Mother’s Day, and clearly the staff was overwhelmed. I felt the staff was good, but the food was subpar at best, however I feel like it was probably due to being so busy.

We had dinner at Kona Grill on Mother’s Day. We expected a crowd, but our reservation was ready about 10 minutes after we arrived. The service was great and the food was great as well. Good experience overall.

went here for the first time for brunch and it was pretty good! limited brunch options but you can always go with the classic. espresso martinis and mimosas we're great

Brunch should never be offered at this restaurant. They should stick to what they know. Mother’s Day brunch was over priced and we could have gotten better food at continental breakfast. They had 4 options of low quality food no substitutions. We had a large party, someone got sick. Pancakes were frozen silver dollars, they also ran out of food midway and tried to skip putting it on the plate but still bringing it out. They should have hosted a mother’s day lunch and dinner not a bare minimum scam “brunch” to get money for the holiday and take advantage. Just nasty.

5/16/2024 — I believed I was going to receive a phone call from the manager regarding my experience. I was wrong. SMH. Kona Grill was out of the special. They didn’t have any fish for the fish tacos. Also, they were out of cod. The lettuce for the lettuce wraps was not crisp so we had to cut up the lettuce and eat the whole meal with forks.

This was my first visit for dinner. I frequent happy hour and have never had an issue with food, drinks or service. The very best part about my visit was my server, Laurel. She was amazing to say the least and I would return just to experience her service again. On the other hand the food was just okay.

I can’t believe this place is still in business. Most of the items on the menu were not available. Lettuce for the lettuce wraps was not even washed. We were the second table that rejected the dish for the same reason- unwashed lettuce! Horrible! For sure we’re not going back!

Missing ingredients so could not order what I wanted. Bar staff was inattentive. Hated that we were pushed to use the Ziosk when it was not working very well. Promotions were applied without being asked if we wanted to use them first. Overall, food was very good and service was good.

The food delivery was quick however we asked for our appetizer to come out before the entree and it did not. We asked our waitress for a water refill and we had finished our dinner before she came back with a refill. We had asked for a printed receipt at the end and it took just as long to receive that. Food was overpriced for the quality received.

Honestly, was not impressed with Kona. We went on a Saturday night around 6 pm. When we got there, we were told they had run out of menus. Not a big deal, we used the QR code. Then when we went to order, we were told a driver was down and basically anything fried was off the menu now. We ordered an appetizer and the server forgot to put it in. Overall, not a great experience and won’t be going back anytime soon, too many other places to go that offer a better overall experience.

Our server Mia was Amazing! Cocktails were tasty & I highly recommend the avocado egg rolls, shrimp & lobster roll & chicken & shrimp lettuce wrap.

Even the the parking lot looked packed, there was ample seating for all who passed through the doors. As it is a sushi spot, it was a bit disappointing that the DEEP FRYER was on the fritz and so none of those delicacies we all LOVE so much were out of reach. The server was hyper attentive, and full of sweet smiles, and the sushi we did manage to order still quite good. There were times when I didn't even know that I ordered something, but quickly and with a smile most things made it to the table in a good amount of time. There was a beer that seemed missed, but the moment it was, it made its way to the table. High-tops, bar seating and booths were all available and they had a DJ who clearly spent too much time among or himself could identify as a millennial so I was perfectly happy with the music choices while watching our dear Pistons try their best. All in all, a good experience, and one I'll probably return to in the next few months to share with other loved ones.

My friend and I love Kona Grill. We have been coming here for years. I love the ambience, especially the patio area. The only downside is that the espresso martini is not what it used to be. It would be amazing if you got more creative with it. Looking forward to more visits in the summer.

We’ve been going to Kona & loved it. It’s one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Or at least it used to be. Lately, it’s been very disappointing. Last nights dinner was the last straw. Dinner took 40 minutes to arrive & no one offered an explanation as to why. The place was slow, so that can’t be the reason. Sad to say, We Won’t Be Back!

Horrible! Do not book! I had reservations last night there was an opening at 12:00. I got there at 11:00 so we were able to sit at the bar to have drinks before the dinner reservation. The host told us it wasn’t a problem when we got to the bar the bartender was still serving a white couple but told us the bar was closed (again as she’s still serving the white couple) ok we went n got seated the waitress Lilly was very rude told us we only had 1 minute to order. I only eat seafood told me the sushi was closed plus the fryer was down! Another white couple sat down they were extra nice! That was the last straw I got up and left! If you are an African American please don’t go here . Horrible and I live in the Troy community I will be filing a complaint with the BBB as well!

I'm not sure why but there was a DJ playing on Easter Sunday, and the music was so loud, we could not hear each other across the table. The food was very late coming out, and it was cold, dry, and tasteless. Our waitress rarely checked on us even though we regularly needed water, pop, and wine refills because our food was taking so long.
