A very nice experience to remember. Recommended for a special ocassion with your closed ones. We took the degustation menu with meat, together with the Weinbegleitung. Each dish was amazing and the taste was even better combined with the wines they serve. They made a great storytelling filled with the details of each wine and dish. I would def. go back to taste all the other dishes they serve. Keep it like that!

Tolles Ambiente, zwei hervorragende Gastgeber am Tisch mit viel Witz, Wissen und Humor. Geschmackliche Explosion im Gaumen, sehr intensiv im Aroma (wir hatten 3x das Menü Fleisch/Vegan). Besten Dank für ein tollen Abend.

Wir waren in einer Gruppe von 4. Eine veganerin und 3 Omnivoren. Wir hatten alle ein 4 - Gänge Menu bestellt. Das essen war von hoher Qualität, geschmacklich sehr gut. Das Ambiente, der Service on die Präsentation waren elegant aber nicht aufdringlich. So wie ich es am liebsten mag. Gehoben dennoch causal, entspannt und zum angemessen Preis.

Korean/Spanish fusion. Just delicious and very well executed. Plus Bini, retired opera singer and our host, was charm personified. Loved it.

Das Essen schmeckte mittelmäßig, es fehlte an Geschmack, ich hatte mir mehr bei der Konstellation versprochen . Tee hat gut geschmeckt . Service war aufdringlich und unruhig und die junge Kellnerin reserviert und unfreundlich. Meiner Freundin wurde der Teller abgeräumt während sie noch gekaut hat . Gesamteindruck war eher negativ, schade.

Eine tolle Kombination von Ingredenzien und Kulturen, die einfach Spass macht. Ausgezeichneter Service, gute Beratung und schöne, jedoch nicht übertriebene Präsentation. Sorgfältig ausgewählte Weine. Wir werden sicherlich wiederkommen!

Ein stilvolles, unaufdringlich reduziertes Ambiente, gepaart mit außergewöhnlichen, aber stimmigen Gerichten und einem exzellenten Service. Die Wein Expertise und Weinauswahl hat das Ganze nur noch abgerundet und zu einem wirklich schönem Erlebnis gemacht. Ich kann es nur wärmstens empfehlen. Und man muss kein Fan von koreanischer Küche sein, um hier voll und ganz begeistert zu sein.

Our reservation was 20.30, they did not give us a table until 21.00. Food was good, but the price was too high for what we got. Nothing stood out. I got foodpoisoning. It may have been a bad shrimp. Also, they offered me an alcohol free cider. It contained a percentage of alcohol.

Wir wurden von der Bedienungen galant durch den Abend begleitet. Jedes Gericht hatte eine kleine kulinarische Überraschung und am Ende gab es eine Geburtstagskerze. Danke an das gesamte Team für diesen wunderbaren Abend.

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend mit hervorragendem Essen. Der Service war tadellos, alle stets aufmerksam, freundlich, professionell und auch im Umgang miteinander ausgeprochen sympathisch. Das Menü kam in angemessenen Tempo, jeder Gang für sich war ein Vergnügen, darüber hinaus schienen die Gänge sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt. Hervorheben möchte ich die exzellenten veganen Gänge, die wir genießen durften und die jeweils eine eigene Geschmacksexplosion waren. Wir kommen wieder und würden das auch jedem und jeder anderen empfehlen!

Die Ente war klasse und das Team sehr nett. Das Rinderfleisch Stew mit Gemüse für sehr an sich lecker und optisch mit Sesam toll, aber stark überwürzt. Wir haben beide viel getrunken im Anschluss. Ist uns nicht gut bekommen. Empfehlen Kochteam mal ganze Portion samt Soße selbst zu essen und zu schauen wie es Ihnen damit geht. Mehrere Paare wurden vor dem Fertigessen gebeten sich für das Dessert / Austrinken an den Stehtisch im Eingang zu begeben. Tisch wurde für neue Gäste benötigt. Ist verständlich aber schafft Unruhe. Daher Serviceabzug. In Summe stimmte Preis Leistung am Samstag leider nicht. Früher fand ich das Lokal mit altem Konzept besser. Sorry

Ein toller Service und gutes Essen. Wir empfehlen ein Menü zu wählen, um so Sachen zu testen die man sonst eventuell nicht bestellen würde. Die Weinbegleitung ist hervorragend ausgewählt und aus unserer Sicht eigentlich ein Muss. Es war ein toller Abend.

Hervorzuheben ist zum einen das sehr gute Essen und hier ganz besonders die vegetarischen Gerichte, bei denen auch die passionierten "Fleischesser" nichts vermisst haben. Zum anderen war der Service wirklich exzellent: locker, zuvorkommend und immer sehr kompetent. Wir haben uns den ganzen Abend sehr wohl gefühlt.

You can't go wrong with important guests from abroad. As always, the evening was one to remember and there is always something new to discover. This time it occured to me that the vegan courses had the larger surprises. Very colourful taste combinations without blending.

Es herrscht im Koch Karu eine intime Stimmung, klein und fein. Leider muss ich sagen, das die Stühle zwei Kissen erfordern, Rücken und Podex, um sie als bequem zu bezeichnen. Die Bewirtung ist ausgesprochen freundlich und umsichtig. Da gibt es nichts zu kritisieren, danke. Wir hatten ein fünf Gänge Menue. Das Auge hatte viel Freude an dem Dargebotenen, das bekommen andere Restaurants dieser Klasse aber auch ohne Mühe hin. Nun habe ich das Problem, dass ich durch einen Besuch im "Daemon" gezeigt bekommen habe, was man für Geschmackserlebnisse bekommen kann, eine unvergessliche Erfahrung. Ich kann es nicht ändern, aber ich vergleich natürlich mit dieser Erfahrung. Konnte das Kochu Karu mir ein ähnliches Erlebnis bieten? Sorry, leider nein. Das Menue war einfallsreich, ohne Frage, auch geschmacklich ein Erfahrung, mit gewissen Besonderheiten, aber das Erstaunen, das der Gaumen etwas geboten bekommt, was er so schnell nicht einordnen kann, blieb leidet nur bei Ansätzen. Das Essen war von guter Qualität ohne wenn und aber, dennoch hatte ich auf ein Überraschung gehofft. Dass sie ausblieb, ist kein Beinbruch, es war ein netter Abend, wir haben uns willkommen gefühlt. Ob ich zu viel erwartet habe, vielleicht. Ich wünsche jedenfalls dem Kochu Karu alles Gute für die Zukunft.

We ordered a degustation menu with meat. Very tasty food - it was very well and diligently prepared. We enjoyed an open kitchen view. Service was fast, but unfortunately not the most enthusiastic (but maybe it’s a general attitude in Berlin ;) No particular introduction to the menu. The restaurant was very nice, just the ambiance was a bit off.

I was really looking forward to eating here after reading other reviews, but my boyfriend and I found the food -- we got the two different tasting menus (vegetarian & not) -- mostly middling. I live in Brooklyn and regularly eat at foodie/Michelin haunts in the city so have a lot of great food to compare it to. The concept here is great and the presentation is meticulous, but the flavor combinations were either too dissonant (too much going on) or leaned too much toward purely salty. The Korean influence was more evident than the Spanish, though we love Korean so that wasn't an issue. The highlights of the meal were the starters -- the sourdough, olives & lard AND the kimchi bun with sour cream & caviar -- as well as the roast beef (which was cooked perfectly). The really disappointing dishes were the ramen, which had overcooked underwhelming noodles, spare dressing/additions, and lacked the deep umami flavor of most great ramen; the temple bibimbab, which was exceedingly tiny (even for fine dining) and only the rice was flavorful; the cauliflower dish which had so many textures and so little flavor; and finally the desserts, both of which were underwhelming, but the one with the sesame ganache had an especially off-putting flavor profile. Had this meal been $100 we might have said it was worth the visit, but at $180 after two glasses of wine and a beer and this was not a great experience. In addition, our waiter was oddly more informative and kinder to the couple sitting next to us the whole night, for no apparent reason. He would tell them more about the dishes, follow up more, and was even warmer. So strange.
