Murray Abraham, Chris Noth et Alec Baldwin, le Knickerbocker est célèbre pour sa musique jazz et ses steaks T-bone de 800 grammes. Le restaurant figure dans la liste des "Restaurants favoris de New York" de Racheal Ray, qui a notamment fait l'éloge du cocktail de crevettes, de la crème d'épinards et bien sûr, des steaks T-bone. Le mot "Knickerbocker" signifie "New York". En entrant, vous saurez que vous êtes dans le Village. Les murs lambrissés affichent une alliance étrange entre des posters du siècle et des caricatures originales d'Al Hirschfield. Les grands sièges en cuir s'étirent le long des murs et les barres en laiton font ressortir le bar en marbre vieux de 100 ans, où Charles Lindbergh a signé son contrat Trans-Atlantique. Parking on the street is usually easy to find. The meters finish at 7:00pm, and the other street parking is available after 6:00pm. There are parking lots on the approach to the restaurant on 9th street or 8th street.

Animation
Knickerbocker has had "Live Jazz" since the days when the village had "Live Jazz". Harry Connick Jr. got his start here, back in the late 80"s. Names like Junior Mance, Bucky Pizzarelli and Ben Wolf now show up on our schedule.We have live jazz on Friday & Saturday nights, starting at 9:45pm till 2:00am. There is a small $3.50 cover charge at the tables after 10:15 pm, or just stop in at the bar for a drink, with no cover.

Service was exceptional. Food was all around fantastic from the drinks to the desserts. Everything was phenomenal and I will be back. Loved the steak.

Drinks excellent; shrimp cocktail very good; long long time patron (going back to Steak Casino days in the '60s when I lived on 13th St) but never had the burger till now --- loved it; strawberry shortcake desert special didn't live up to fine bakery standards. Others at my table loved the steak frites and the lasagna special. As always, thanks so much for hosting our special and non-special get togethers with family and friends. Stan Markowitz

Knickerbockers is one of my favorite restaurants in New York. Great ambience, service and food. It has the feel of an old NYC eatery that makes you feel right at home. Always have the best time there!

A real local gem. The fact that it's not trendy makes it, in my view, very trendy if you're looking for a truly authentic New York experience/steakhouse. Restaurants like Knickerbocker are now few and far between in Manhattan, and I'm so glad that they haven't much changed over the years. As a native New Yorker, I can honestly say it's one of our favorite "go to" places, and their T-bone for 2 with the most delicious sides (especially the creamed spinach!) is a great value and top quality as well. We love it.

Their signature T-bone 🥩 was grilled to perfection “as ordered”. Ambiance is always very New York vibe at it’s finest. Service was also marvelous. Knickerbocker is a neighborhood gem; staying on my ongoing “repeat” roster.

The quality of the meat in the burger is not bad but not great. The flies are salty and brown color. The Louis ribs not good, the meat has no taste and salty.

I just love this restaurant. My friends and I have been here several times for the price fixed lunch. It is absolutely outstanding. I got the wedge salad as an appetizer which came with a lovely blue cheese dressing. I then got the sliced steak, perfectly made as I ordered it (black and blue). For dessert I got the key lime pie. Delicious. I very highly recommend the price fixed lunch. It’s the best deal in town ❤️❤️

We had a great time Friday evening. Love the music, food and service. We arrived early and they found us a great booth so we didn't have to wait extra long at the bar. A great neighborhood standby. Go for the ambiance, stay for the food.

Old School Steakhouse. This restaurant was very near our hotel. I thought the menu had enough options for all of our party. We all enjoyed our meals. The wait staff was very friendly and the service was great. It was a good experience overall.

We love the Knickerbocker, but our experience Tuesday was a bit off. Our waiter read back the order twice, but it did not come out correctly. After the order was made, appetizers were duly served and drinks were repenished. One hour later, we had our entrees. Of the 5 of us, 4 shared the T Bone for 4. Perfectly cooked and delicious. The 5th member of the party had ordered the scampi. The waiter admitted that he never put it in. Another wait ensued. I understand that there are back ups and when the restaurant is busy, things may slow down, but there were lots of empty tables on Tuesday. I know that I will return to Knickerbocker, but I do not think our friends will.

Hi Joe, I did hear about your unfortunate incident. I hate to admit it, but sometimes waiters do make mistakes. I am sorry, perhaps, it was not corrected quickly enough or handled properly. Knickerbocker is our favorite restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the ambiance is upscale, yet very homey and comfortable. We highly recommend it.

Shared the steak with onion rings, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with a friend and still had leftovers to bring home. It was all delicious! The jazz music was also enjoyable. The service was great! I love this place!
