We were at Ki’s for dinner. The food was very good and it was beautifully presented. We found the value to be surprisingly good. I definitely recommend Ki’s for dinner and will be back again

For Mother’s Day we went to Ki’s for the first time for lunch. Not knowing what to expect, we were greeted with an unfriendly attitude when we were confused on how to order. I was under the impression we would be waited on and serviced at our own table. We made a reservation for 2 o’clock. And there was no table ready. The upstairs dining room was very noisy and chaotic. We had to self serve our drinks self serve our napkins and utensils. We ordered chips and salsa as an appetizer and received them last. Half of our group got their food and almost finished before we got the second half for our table. I had to send back the fries because they were cold as well. Ordering from the counter you also had to provide a tip amount before receiving service so that didn’t make sense when I had to self serve everything. It just did not seem very ambient for a nice lunch on Mother’s Day. I am hearing that the dinner service is much better, but not sure if I will be returning.

Hi Angie, My name is Jennifer and I am the General Manager at Ki's Restaurant and wanted to reach out in regards to your experience and review. I see that the reservation was made through Opentable and when you book through Opentable it informs the customers of how the restaurant operates during breakfast and lunch vs dinner service. We are counter service for breakfast and lunch and full service for dinner. We have been operating this way for 40 plus years. Mother's Day is the busiest day in the restaurant business with food times hitting the 45 minute-1 hour wait. If customers dine with other parties, order and pay separate then the food will come out at different times. Our dinner menu is just as amazing as lunh and I would like to invite you back on me in hopes of changing your review.

This spot has an amazing view of the ocean on the 2nd floor. Food was great and reasonably priced. We arrived early for our reservation before 1 and they still sat us. We ordered downstairs and staff brought us our food. They said there was no wait staff but there were runners at least which was great. It was a busy Mother's Day brunch time and our reservation held up great. Yummy smoothies and carne asada benedict. Basic coffee options but I was already caffeinated so it was all good. Will definitely go back again!

We always enjoy dining at Ki’s. Excellent food, thoughtful service. Great views and feels like family. We have going for almost 30 Years and have taken all Out out of town friends.

We went for the first time for dinner last night (usually I go for breakfast or lunch), service, food and relaxed pace was wonderful!! The manager at the front podium was so nice (sorry forgot to ask your name). Ava was our server and she was attentive, friendly, gave great advice as to what to order and was just super!! And I have to mention the great view too!!! They had a band last night that was good too. We had a couple drinks (top notch bartender!!), 2 appetizers, the seasonal flatbread (yum!) and the crispy cauliflower (yum yum!) after that we split the catch of the day which was an amazing halibut! We of course couldn't leave the meal without dessert and we had the amazing lemon olive oil cake! WOW!!! Thank you all for making our birthdays so special!!

I've lived in Solana Beach for years and this was my first time to Ki's, and won't be my last. Our server was terrific as was the food. Right across from the beach with fresh air and a nice ambience. Highly recommend and check their website since they have many special events that sound like a lot of fun.

Ki's menu is fairly diverse for it's size. Food is very favorable and the quantifies are generous. Prices for both food and beverages are very reasonable. There was a small band playing on the Friday night we were there. They have occasional food and wine pairing nights for $50. We went to the New Zealand event which was excellent. Also, one of the few places where there is an actual great ocean view. I would highly recommend you check them out for events and well, if you hungry.

They only take lunch time reservations for large parties, even though you can make a reservation online. Seating is first come first served so your reservation will be useless! Our pear salad was amazing, but the vegetable stew arrived cold. Entrees with tofu, the tofu was just diced… not cooked or marinated in anyway. Fajita bowl had raw vegetables (onions/peppers), not sautéed as described. Nomnam bowl was great! Good sized portions. Menu looked amazing, so the inconsistency from dish to dish was disappointing. But you can’t beat the view!

Always try to see the Peter Pupping Quartet or any version thereof. Keep having them please they are absolutely magnificent I’m never disappointed by Ki’s, always so great. The Staff and scenery are really excellent! One of the North Coast’s Treasures 5.5 Stars all the way around

We love Ki's! Best place for an ocean view and SUNSET! One of the few restaurants in North County that is consistent with food, service, vibe. It's our go-to because we can always count on a great meal breakfast, lunch, dinner...great drinks and smiling servers!

Went to Ki’s for the first time last night, because a friend was playing there in a band. It’s a charming local place, beautiful views, delicious food, live music, and the staff was outstanding! Place was busy, but we never had to wait for anything. They were attentive and friendly. They also have a happy hour that would be worth going to watch the sunset. The only weird thing is the bathroom and kitchen is downstairs, it didn’t seem to affect the wait staff

Food was terrible. Paid $35 for filet mignon and it was mostly raw and chewy. Was offered a ribeye steak. It was awful. Service was very slow. Will never go there again. The waitress was great and understanding. Gave me a hugh piece of carrot cake which I took home. The kitchen supervisor was condescending and not very nice. Said the place was crowded and business was great. I feel like I should not have complained.

Ki's was a wonderful surprise. The food was outstanding and the service incredible. We ordered four different entrees and all were delicious! We were there after sunset, but the beach view during the day and at sunset would have been an added bonus. Expect a simply furnished venue, that seems unimportant when compared to the location, outstanding menu, and attentive staff.
