Table of 5 visited for brunch on Mother’s Day and had a great experience. This is my second time dining at Kingfish and the previous time was delightful (dinner)! This is a nice French quarter restaurant, between causal and dressy, food well seasoned, staff is friendly and accommodating, service is great, family friendly, kid friendly, and the price is not bad either. We ordered the Crème Brûlée French Toast as an app, Lt. Governor’s Breakfast, Kingfish N Grits, Governor’s Steak & Eggs, Blue Crab Omelet, and an Eggs, Toast, and Hashbrown kids meal, everything tasted great. A few cons are: parking can be a headache with the nearest lots being about two blocks away (the weather was nice when we visited, but consider this when it’s extremely hot or rainy). The glasses, utensils, and napkins were not clean. I always bring my own utensils anyway, because this is common at most restaurants. Likely to return.

Service was a bit slow at first but the manager came over and apologized and things then really picked up. Food was spectacular. My husband’s duck and shrimp gumbo was fabulous. I tried the boudin boulettes which I’d never had before and they were great. We both had the red beans and rice with southern fried chicken and it was superb.

Aweful experience. Bartender was angry at the world when he was even paying attention. Horrible and slow service. And he complained to other customers about people who left after not being served for 20 minutes. And food was mediocre. Always telling in NOLA when restaurants in Quarter wide open for reservations

We just happened to find Kingfish while exploring New Orleans and were able to make a reservation for the following evening. From beginning to end it was a great experience. Our server, Brad, was wonderful. He steered us in the right direction when we asked for his recommendations for dinner. I had the Barbequed scallops fettucine and my husband had the Pepper jelly glazed pork chop. They were outstanding dishes as were the cocktails we ordered. Not only would I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Orleans....we returned a couple of nights later for a quick bite and drinks at the bar.

We had a reservation and were seated after some walk up people, which didn’t really bother me until I saw them leave before my food was served and they had more people in their party. I ordered the steak salad and it was missing some of the items listed on the menu. My friend ordered the seafood at gratin and some collard greens. The greens arrived room temperature and were lacking in the flavor. It was over an hour from when we were seated to when our food came. The waiter was very kind - but the experience was not anything special.

Service was pretty good but the food was just terrible. Chicken entree more like chicken tenders and the "cracklin" nachos were simply not cracklin (more like grocery store bag of chicharonnes). It's been many years since I've been here. It was once very good. Not any more.

The host/ manager was less than welcoming. Asking ‘can I help you’? As I walked in to get out of the rain. We had to walk back to the entrance before we could be sat. Once sat, several servers walked by us and acted as we were invisible. Finally a gentleman filled out water glasses and said someone would be right by. No one ever came so we finally left. It was completely dead, mind you. It was only our 40th anniversary dinner. We walked to Broussard’s and had a wonderful dinner. Won’t ever go back or recommend.

We got there a little early, but they were still able to seat us. Food was really good, but we weren't able to eat it all. Being from out of town, and having plans for immediately right after dinner, we weren't able to box up the leftovers & take them with us. C'est la guerre!

This is a nice location in the French Quarter. The place is nicely updated and clean—a big plus!!!! The service was lackluster on the night we dined—very inattentive. The food was above par. Two of us ordered the seafood au gratin, and it was delicious. The kid's meal and steak salad that the other diners had were average. VERY GOOD PRICES. I would recommend this place when eating in the French Quarter.

Our main courses weee delicious and the drinks were good. The fried green tomatoes were meh and the service was not great. Our server was nice enough, but incredibly inefficient. Our meals came out right on top of our appetizer, but the server completely forgot to bring us the drinks we had ordered. She was sort of all over the place. We very much liked the ambience of the place, but I’m not sure that the cost was worth the average appetizer and the poor service.

An excellent place for great food and drink. An extensive menu with staff available to answer any questions about the menu/food. An outstanding restaurant and bar with a great selection of drinks and wonderful food. a must to dine and drink here when in New Orleans.

Very pleasant greeting by the host at the door who promptly seated us. Excellent service by our waiter Carlito who gave us great suggestions for appetizers and dinner. Wonderful experience overall!

Lovely restaurant in the French Quarter. The ambience was elevated and comfortable. Soft lighting and well spaced tables. The waitstaff were beyond professional and were helpful in every way. We had the pleasure of having Sasha as our waitress. She was so sweet, knowledgeable and attentive. Her suggestions were on point. Our dinner was paced perfectly. Highly recommend Kingfish!

I made a reservation on OpenTable & in the notes specified I wanted a table not in the middle of the room but rather on the edge without a lot of traffic as I was bringing a 14 pound Federally Licensed Service Dog with me. I showed up on time as I was staying down the street at the W Hotel. I explained I had a reservation. Then waited 16 minutes to be seated way in the back at a table by the restrooms that looked like I’d never see a server. I asked about this & it was told to me that is was “due to the fact you have a dog”. I immediately stated this is a Federally Licensed Service Dog & stated I showed the accreditation & showed it again. The person seating me said they’d “have to check”. Walked again to the front of the restaurant & waited more time. I was FINALLY seated but I’m in a high traffic area where people were walking behind us for take out orders & in front of us as arrivals to the restaurant to get seated. My reservation was for 7:45 pm I didn’t not get service or asked if I wanted water, drinks or food after finally being seated in an areas I specifically asked not to be seated in until 8:40. On top of that the server came by & told me I’d have to wait because the two top table with two females who were sat 20 minutes AFTER me he’d have to help them first. I let him know I’d been sitting there, had asked for water from two different servers which never arrived as well as a drink menu. The food is good, but the rest of the operation & service sucks out loud. It’s even worse than a “turn & burn” restaurant. I stay down the street every year at the W & will NEVER go back as the service & seating staff were the worst. I don’t even think I’d order take out as I don’t believe in supporting a restaurant that is so horrible to clientele that specify EVERYTHING on the reservation.

Food was good. I highly recommend the Crabcake appetizer. Everything is fresh and well prepared. Servers work hard to keep everything flowing. Ambiance is perfect.

We were really looking forward to having breakfast here, the food was just ok, waitress was overwhelmed and was always running around. The eggs on the avocado toast were cold, the cinnamon roll was very good!

I really wanted to rate this experience as 5 stars, however, the lady at the hostess stand was not the friendliest. The amazingly energetic and engaging man at the front door directed us to the hostess stand where we were not greeted at all and stood for several minutes as she completed other tasks until someone else came to seat us. There was no good morning or I’ll be with you in a moment. The treatment we received from her was so uncomfortable they got a moment my friend and I contemplated finding another establishment for brunch, but we are so glad we didn’t. Every other staff member we encountered for the rest of our meal was amazing. From the young lady who seated us to our server Sasha and the young man who brought our food. The food was good and exceeded our expectations. I would definitely consider dining here again, just hoping that I don’t have to interact with that hostess again. We observed later that she appeared to be overly friendly with other guests, so not quite sure why we’re were treated differently.

Had a great time at Kingfish. We are ordered the hook & line gulf fish, and fettuccine pasta with Shrimp - and both dishes were excellent. The Cajun spiced fish, along with collard greens and fully loaded potatoes was especially delicious. The location is great, and the place was bustling on a Friday night !

We had excellent service. Delicious hors d’oeuvres the Boudin balls are a must have. We enjoyed the redfish and the other dishes with shrimp, scallops, and linguine as well.

Hostess was on the phone for a few minutes upon arrival but we waited patiently. When she got off the phone, she skipped us (Black couple)and decided the sit a white couple that obviously jumped us and another couple behind us. The host knew we were next but decided to sit them anyway. When she came back to help us she was shocked to see that we had reservations and witnessed her sit someone else who just walked up and skipped. It wasn’t worth talking to management at the moment. The dining experience is always pleasant but that was blatantly disrespectful.

They said it was gonna take 10 minutes for a gin fiz. When we got, it was warm. Then the fried green tomato/shrimp with remalaude sauce, had only a smattering of said sauce. Then it took a longer than usual amount of time to get two entries. The Catfish Huey was awful! It came with a twice baked potato! A very unusual choice for fish. And the “crab glaze” was frozen crab! We were not asked how our meal was, and I had to ask for a dessert menu.

I had the shrimp and grits and it was amazing. It has the right amount of spice. My colleagues had a po boy and chicken sandwich. They enjoyed it.

Had higher hopes for this place based on reviews. Service was ok, server said he was newer to the restaurant. Our cocktails were good but more than half was ice! Food was average. The chicken was definitely good and hot (temp wise) however the rice and beans it was over was room temp. We went for our first dinner in town but maybe brunch next time.

Very disappointing. We waited 40 minutes for two appetizers. The restaurant was maybe half full at best. Our waitress was nice, but not attentive. We had to keep asking for water and had to ask her to take our main course order 30 min after sitting down. The apps were fine, but nothing special. The entrees we ordered were also not great. Overall it took two hours to finish the dining experience. The manager comped an app, but I can't understand what led to all the mishaps of the meal. Just a meal that wasn't worth it.

We loved our dining experience here! Service was excellent as was the food. French bread with butter, Boudin balls, cheeseburger, grilled chicken Cobb salad, and dessert—mousse with ice cream was all quite tasty and made a great presentation. The Old Fashioned drink was quite nice too! We will definitely eat here again.

We were looking for a restaurant open on Sunday's in New Orleans and Kingfish did not disappoint. We tried the Pork Rind nachos as an appetizer which was so unusual and delicious. We will be trying that at home! My husband had an oyster po'boy and I had the blackened redfish for entrees and both were marvelous. In fact, my husband felt the bread on the po'boy was the best he had in New Orleans and he ate one every day while we were there! The hostess and waitress couldn't have been nicer.

Our first trip and first ever meal in New Orleans! We made a reservation and was seated immediately upon arrival. Alecia V was our amazing waitress, personable and efficient. I had a blueberry Mojito We started with the crab bread appetizer, the cheese was hot and bubbly, so good! I had the chicken plate, the chicken was juicy and the fig jelly that was over It was divine. I had never had greens before and they were delicious, especially since they were cooked in bacon and my twice baked potato was fluffy, buttery and cheesy. my husband had scallop fettuccine. The fettuccine was not over creamy. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the scallops were wonderful. Could’ve used more than three maybe five. This was a perfect start to the weekend. Highly Recommend!

Mediocre at best, service was ok, food was served warm not hot. I do wish that when I made the reservation I was given an option to choose seating area. I was not thrilled about sitting at a bar table.
