Went for Mother's Day. They were out of 3 things we wished to eat. The Tomahawk Short Rib was very fatty. More than any short rib I've ever had. Not worth it to me. Service was slow at times.

What an amazing place! The fact that this is right off of Hollywood Boulevard is crazy. The ambience is stunning, the server was great, and the food was amazing. We were greeted immediately by the nicest hosts, and taken to a cozy booth. From there, the night was perfect (especially after a terrible dinner the night before at another restaurant I won't name!). Started with a delicious whiskey cocktail (Bushi) that comes out with cherry blossom smoke! I highly recommend the Miso Cod Bites to start! We ordered the double spicy tuna rolls (great!)...they were out of the rock shrimp roll, but the server recommended the Corn Crunch Roll...it was so good we ordered a second! Worth it! If you are in Hollywood and looking for a great sushi experience, definitely try Katsuya!

SO GOOD!!! Trust me, you HAVE to get the Lobster tempura and the Tomahawk Short Rib!!!! Wowwww… Just wowww!!!! You won’t regret it!! If you like cocktails, the lychee martini is YUMMMMY!!!

The music was way too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation at our table. Service started out good, but then eventually had to track people down. We had the tasting menu, plus a miso cod entree. All was tasty. The mochi donuts were amazing, and were pairs with terrific dipping sauces, especially the black sesame one! Valet was very handy.

This place is terribly overpriced. We ordered tap water and got two bottles of water for which they charged $20. We ordered some spicy tuna on rice. They were tiny and were $20 for four. Etc etc

This is one of our go-to places for Sushi in the LA area. The pricing is a little expensive but the quality of the food is really high!

This is my go to place for dinner before a show! Service was spectacular I am sorry I don't have his name but I would request him again! I have to say again service was perfect, making sure we had time to order before our show. Thanks and we will be back.

The food was amazing. The cocktails were fabulous. The service was fantastic however, I wish they were a little bit more attentive. We waited quite a while for our cocktails and our food service to begin.

We were greeted warmly and were seated at a lovely table. Cameren was incredibly attentive and we were happy to be seated in his section again. We ordered some of our favorites—both drinks and food and even tried some new things including the outstanding A5 Nigiri. We hope this becomes a menu staple. Katsuya is our go-to spot for a reason. The service, the food, the drinks, the beautiful restaurant itself. Can’t wait to return!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Katsuya before attending an event at the Dolby Theater. Our server was attentive, allowing us time to peruse the menu and order cocktails before dinner. We enjoyed the tasting menu comprised, among other things, of a tuna roll, cod simmered in miso, short ribs, tender wagyu beef, and lobster tempura. The interval between servings provided us with time to savor what we just tasted and to anticipate the next dish. We would highly recommend Katsuya to prospective diners.

They sneak in a 5% wellness charge to the bill without telling you. It shows up as a H SVCHG. To remove you need to talk to a manager. After they need to void the transaction and re-charge again without the 5%.

This is a great place for sushi lovers. All ingredients are fresh and tasty. This time we were family traveling in town and my daughters simply loved it. A great service from the hostess to all the waiters. The decoration is amazing and the men’s washrooms fun. Go and check them. Great spot in Hollywood!

Sushi was expensive and decent, but not revelatory Mochi donuts were amazing Appetizers were better than the main sushi offerings They had a live DJ who played a set that could have been a playlist on Spotify- nothing really unique Drinks were great Service was good- he checked in and gave us good space to chat!

The service started off great! From the waiter being knowledgeable on wine and recommended a perfect appetizer in the yellowtail. Food was fresh and tasty and we finished with tasty donut holes as a desert.

Not the first time eating at Katsuya Hollywood but I'm not sure if we'll go back. Service was good, although they forgot about 2 items during the meal so they weren't fantastic. The food was really hit or miss. Maybe only half our dishes were good.

Took my MOM and family for first time, so I knew what the experience & expectation should’ve been Celebrating my mom’s birthday, so the expectations were going be set at that higher standard. Hence why I booked ahead. Maybe they were just a little understaffed, but we found ourselves waiting a lot of the time, none of us actually ate together or got our drinks together, all came at separate times. Overall, in the end the food was great can’t complain. The drinks were amazing. But Me having booked my dinner several days prior I wish we got better attended to. They seemed super fallen behind. So no, you don’t always get what you pay for, do better next time.

The service was great. A perfect place to go before the theatre. Overall the food was delicious. I had a problem with one of the dishes which is why I gave the food so few stars.

Our service was not great this time around! Waiting a long time to get our food. He never came back to see if we needed anything else so we just ask for the check and left

Seated within minutes of arrival. Expected counter seating, but got a nice table. Food was tasty (but why did the crispy rice take soooo long?). Otherwise good service. Prices about par for a nice restaurant in LA.

Food and service were great. It's very noisy, almost like being in a club, so conversation is difficult. The bathrooms were too dark (you should be able to see yourself in the mirror) and paper towels were strewn about the floor. I would go back, but wouldn't sit at a table when I wanted to have meaningful conversation.

Hi Sjjama, thank you for your feedback! With our DJ on Saturday nights, we understand how the noise level can become overwhelming. We will definitely pass the note along to our DJ! We will also be passing along the feedback to our staff on the restrooms. Cleanliness and a clean environment in all of our spaces is apart of the standard here at Katsuya, and we can and will do better to uphold that standard. The food is top notch! Best sushi I’ve ever had. Appitzers were delicious. Our server, Cameron, was perfect.

Great option for pre show dinner at the Pantages Theater. Seated on time of reservation at a preferred table. Service was responsive to our time constraints to get to Pantages. Nice selection of appetizers, soups, salads and entrees for both vegetarians and carnivores. Tomahawk braised ribs with side of sweet corn topped off with strawberry sundae was amazing! Will be back next time we have tickets to the theater!

Another lovely dinner! We walked over in the rain and were greeted warmly, seated promptly and the food and drinks were sooooo good. Luis is such a fantastic waiter! Katsuya is now our go-to place :)

Amazing Service, Great food suggestions and selections. Katsuya never disappoints. It is a perfect stop before catching a show at Pantages.
