Established in 1976, Kamei Royale was the first Japanese restaurant to introduce the now famous BC Roll and various original sushi dishes found in Vancouver. Presenting the largest counter-top sushi bar and an exhilarating Robata grill showcasing the chef's skills.

Kamei Royale has renovated and renewed itself again in 1990. Bringing forth a brand new bar lounge and Tatami rooms the massive floor space can easily accommodate up to 200 tour groups. Also, with the karaoke lounge now bustling, everyone can enjoy our popular drinks and dishes while singing away to the latest songs ranging from every corner of the planet!

Water was not brought to the table or even offered? When we asked for it only one glass was brought. The sushemi looked tired and not particularly appetizing. The sushi rolls were small and not done with any degree of creativity. Most servers wore COVID masks which in todays environment looks odd??

We had a wonderful experience at your restaurant. When road closures hindered our journey, a simple call to the restaurant transformed our predicament into a hassle-free experience. It was an oasis of hospitality amidst the chaos. Great restaurant, great food, great service !

My son & I are Sushi lovers. We have been to many excellent sushi restaurants in the USA. This restaurant was EXCEPTIONAL in every way!

Perfect for a large group night out! Menu is authentic Japanese restaurant style, you will find a Japanese curry to sushi, tempura etc. All delicious too :)

It is very expensive. When we checked the menu in store, we didn't see the menu shown in their website. After I asked them, they said the menu I was looking for was only for lunch. By the way, the price of lunch and dinner could have 10+ dollars difference. Anyway, I think the price is way more expensive to me and won't visit again.

Pleasant, efficient service but sugary sweet cocktails, greasy tempura. Sushi rolls were good but not great. Expensive for what you get.

The service was top notch and the Waygu steak was perfect. Bigger restaurant than I expected but booths made the noise level nice and quiet. Spicy Tuna roll could have been a bit better prepared but sashimi combo was excellent and the sake sampler was tasty!

This restaurant came highly recommended by a reliable source and did not disappoint. Everything was delicious, especially the spicy tuna roll. It was busy even on a Tuesday evening. I will definitely be back.

I didn’t expect that much because it’s in downtown, (I went to Japanese restaurant in Seattle downtown a few days ago, it’s not good overalls and over price), but here, the quality of food was so good. All servers are very nice, too.

$62.00 Set Menu was such a good deal. All of us were super full after, even didn’t finish tempura (brought back to go) to keep space for Sushi. With that said, I think you can cut Temoura or make choice for 2nd course, and make it $50-something? So much food, not complaining though.

Amazing experience, definitely recommend dining at this location. Ambience and food are on point, and it's quiet enough to chat without shouting. They even gave me a cake on the house for my birthday.

I went here with my girlfriend, step-daughter and myself for a dinner while visiting in Vancouver. It was just down the street from our hotel, and it seemed to fit our needs. Everything food wise during the meal was excellent for the value, but service was a little slow, especially when it came to checking out (but also a large group entered right as we were getting ready to settle up). Nevertheless, I would certainly recommend returning to the restaurant and I plan to the next time I am in Vancouver.

I came in the other night with a friend and we had a fantastic time. The presentation of the dishes as well as the taste / quality was fantastic. I'd never been there before but would absolutely return. The service was friendly and timely and the ambience was perfect. I'm really happy to have found this place because it was excellent.

Very diversified dinner menu. The restaurant was quite quiet for the time that we were inside. Service was very good as staff both, prompt, helpful and very friendly.

Kamei Royale is a real jewel! In 6 days we ate there twice, and had takeout another night. The seafood is so fresh, the sushi is well prepared, and the wait staff is very nice & friendly. I may have to take another trip to Vancouver just to have dinner here again.

They have dramatically increased their pricing- food quality is on par with many other Japanese restaurants but who charge maybe 20-25% less. Not surprisingly the restaurant was only 1/3 rd full on a Saturday night

We had sushi eaters who loved the choices, former residents of Tokyo who loved the food, and shellfish allergic people who loved the tempura and yakitori. We had a quiet booth for six and great service.

Amazing, we had a reservation, we were seated instantly. Ordered shortly after, food arrived seamlessly, asked how we are doing just the right amount and we're given a little extra something for our anniversary free of charge. My only con is that I am visiting and do not live in the city so I cannot go here every week!
