Fresh stone crabs are found in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. They are hand harvested, one claw at a time, and thrown back to the sea. Joe Weiss, and his wife Jennie, discovered this unknown delicacy in the early 1920s, and soon after, began serving them at their restaurant in Miami Beach. Food was excellent. There wasn’t anything that wasn’t below exceptional. However, it was the service that was even more exceptional. Mary made the meal more enjoyable. She took care of us like family, made great recommendations, and simply made the experience enjoyable. Thank you Mary!

I love Joe’s the food is great and tasty! I love the baked sweet potato! The fried chicken is always amazing! The key lime pie is just right! I love taking special people there as a treat! The seafood is good as well!

If you want to make a mom feel special, take her to Joe’s for lunch on Mother’s Day. The team goes above and beyond to cater to families with a special take home gift of a small key lime pie for moms. Our server, Tim, took great care of us. A Mother’s Day — or any special day — favorite!

We had a 630pm reservation for 2! We were told it would be 25 mins as they were running late. I am a Gold Lettuce Entertain You member. The host sat at a table before us bc they gave him a tip. As a result, we were not seated until 725! The service was slow and not to Joe’s standards. When we were seated no mentioned of sorry for seating you almost an hour late even though the host had mentioned it would be 25 mins. Ultimately, we were comped dessert, but other tables got more comped, like items taken off their bill. We celebrated an occasion and were never asked by the wait staff or anything. While it was nice that dessert was complimentary, it does not excuse the almost hour-long delay in getting seated and the poor service. We didn’t leave the restaurant until 910! Sorry, but this is unacceptable and completely changed our experience and feelings about Joe. We have been coming to Joe for 15-plus years through our time together to celebrate special moments, and after last time, I can guarantee we will not be returning.

The food is as usual outstanding. Of course had the stone crabs and an alaskan halibut as a main. The service could not be better, thanks Jesse, was an incredible experience to be here again. Only one minus is the immense noise level when the restaurant is fully booked.

The food was AWESOME! The servers lack of attentiveness was a bit disappointing. I booked this restaurant based on reviews and selection. When making the reservation I noted that a birthday was being celebrated. Upon arrival I was told Happy Birthday by the greeter, but no acknowledgement from the server at all. We weren’t even asked if we were there for a special occasion. Again the food was great, but service couple have definitely been better.

If I could rate the customer service higher than five stars I would. Our server was phenomenal. We did have to wait about 10 minutes for our table which isn’t that long, but I definitely use OpenTable to not have to wait. There isn’t really a place to wait in the front of the restaurant where you don’t feel like you’re being herded around so it just felt like we were out of place until we were seated.

My wife and I ate at several restaurants during a recent trip to Chicago and this was by far the best. We had several crab dishes (crab roll, crab stuffed shrimp, stone crab, crab cakes) and each was fresh and delicious. Above all our service from Jesse M. made the experience exceptional. He made suggestions on what we ordered that were spot on, brought the food out with impeccable timing, and presented the dishes artfully. We don't normally write reviews, but he really stood out. We will definitely put this restaurant on the top of our list for our next visit.

Excellent experience as we are used to at Joes. The food is delicious. We had a res but ate in the bar since we like the atmosphere there. Had a fabulous server named either Tamika or Tameisha (sorry I don’t remember exactly but she was great - super nice and professional). Loved the rioja by the glass than was added to the menu since my last visit (and I really loved the old one).
