Our menu is influenced by the street food found in the open-air markets frequented in Mexico City. Isalita is a locally owned, energetic Mexican restaurant located in downtown Ann Arbor, MI.

We take advance reservations for parties of 6 or more. Please note that not all of our large tables are displayed online.

Very attentive wait staff. They paid attention to gluten and nut allergies we had in our group. Checked on us frequently. Food was great.

Excellent food and service. Only problem is the noise level: it's impossible to have a conversation without yelling.

The nachos and guacamole were excellent. The shrimp tacos and carnitas tacos were good. But the other dishes we ordered were just ok. The steak fajitas tasted delicious but they had no accompaniments like salsa or sour cream, etc. The steak quesadilla was tiny, for $12!! And the chicken tortilla soup had a weird thick base I was not expecting. Usually, it is broth-based and this was one was way too thick! But the service was excellent. Would come back but not order these items again.

The food was really good! Maybe a tiny bit pricey, but I thought it was worth it. We had 6 people and everyone loved their food. Good atmosphere too.
