We were disappointed that we did not receive the level of experience that other reviewers have reported. No bruschetta was given when we arrived. We thought perhaps Irene’s changed practice but then we saw others were served this as we were finishing up. Too late. Our food was well prepared and portions were generous. Nice cocktails and wine list. One item a bit too salty. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly but did not check in to see if we needed anything once we were served by a second server. Overall a nice traditional meal.

We visit once a month and make sure to visit Irene’s each visit. We’re never disappointed with the food, service or atmosphere. You can’t go wrong and prices are reasonable.

Amazing experience! As an Italian American from NYC, this places stacks up with the best places I have eaten in at home. Do not hesitate, book a rez with them ASAP.

This is an absolutely incredible restaurant Visitors go there, of course. But the best indication is that it is filled with locals.

I don't think about Italian food when I think of New Orleans, but this restaurant was highly recommended. We were not disappointed. Our waitress, Kelly, was attentive and helpful. Food was excellent. Intimate setting with choices of rooms or piano bar.

It was overall an impeccable experience. Our waiter Hunter was fantastic! The food came out at a good rate, not too slow and not too fast. The piano player in the corner made for wonderful ambience. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Great dining experience. Our waiter Paul was excellent. The restaurant is lovely. Our food was delicious. The oyster bisque was the best I've ever had! Fish meunière was perfect and the sweet potato side was really tasty. Bread pudding dessert was truly luscious! Highly recommend- but it's too much for one . Definitely will return !!

Ordered crab dip, ravioli and Italian wedding soup. All appetizers were well prepared and tasty. Ordered lamb chops and lasagna for main coarse. The lamb was well prepared. The lasagna was quite good. The sorbet for dessert was over the top delicious. Very refreshing after a great meal. The fosters banana bread pudding was also scrumptious yet could have been shared by two. Our server Claudia was knowledgeable and professional. The piano player whom we sat beside added to the ambiance creating a wonderful dining experience.

Our waiter was Hunter and he was as awesome! Food was great as were our drinks. It was my birthday so the piano player played happy birthday and everyone sang to me 😊 It was a great birthday and I would totally go back!

Food was outstanding. My husband and I shared an appetizer of hot crab Au gratin — too much for one person but perfect for two. Lump crab meat was superb. My lump-crab cakes were sublime. The mellow broth in my husband’s cippino was exceptional and loaded with shellfish. We shared a piece of chocolate-hazelnut cake for dessert — again too much for one person — a perfect ending to a memorable meal.

The “new” space is beautiful! We had been to the old location many times and this was our first visit to the new location. It is really beautiful and our server Jonathan was amazing!

Service Level was phenomenal from the beginning to the end. I spoke to Stacie who was very helpful and listened attentively to my needs and personally ensured I was introduced to Michael who also assisted me with the reservation. Both were very professional and eager to help me make this reservation happen. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I am truly grateful for Stacie and Michaels assistance and the experience that was received at Irene's. Thank You Greatly! Eugene

We go to New Orleans every year and therefore go to Irene's every year. Started with the antipasto charcuterie like appetizer and it was all amazing. the meatballs some of thr best I've had. lastly got the shrimp Fettuccini and another amazing dish. Service alone is impeccable, Gio was on it. A must go!

We really enjoyed our visit to Irene’s. The ambiance was lovely; this is a very classy restaurant inside with nice little dining rooms that made it almost seem like a private room. The food was outstanding (although not typically Italian (only one pasta dish - lasagna - was on the menu). Our server - didn’t get his name- was pleasant, efficient, attentive without being intrusive. None of this comes at a bargain price however. I would call this a splurge. My only note to management: please offer bread and butter!

We had a wonderful evening we sat next to the piano and the pianist took requests. We had a wonderful waiter named Hunter that was like a friend by the time the dinner was over. One of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time!

We had a wonderful dinner. Paul was our waiter, he was very professional, Kelly was also very professional, she accommodated our seating preferences. We are foodies, it was all amazing. The lasagna and gumbo and ravioli were over the top. The best part of the meal was the dessert. I have never eaten just elaborate and exquisite desserts in my life. The dessert sealed the deal. I will tell everyone about it. It was a personal recommendation to me. Thanks.

Nice quaint restaurant in the French Quarter that has very good service. The atmosphere is great for a date or friends connecting for a meal. Food was okay - not great. Lamb chops were not tender and Trout needed some seasoning. It was very flaky and cooked well.

Our group loves Irenes and we think up special occasions to go there. We began with an array of outstanding appetizers which were enjoyed. However, we had not been warned that the whole baked fish would take A LOT of time to prepare. Someone ordered it at our table and we sat there and waited and waited and waited. When it finally came, this meant that we had to rush and had no time for dessert and coffee, an integral part of a meal at Irenes. I ordered the Caesar salad as my entrée, and it was nothing but Romaine lettuce and parmesan cheese. There was no dressing, (nor was there a crouton as noted on the menu.) I do not consider this a Caesar salad. I was disappointed in the meal, and I hope that this was an aberration.

We had a wonderful experience at Irene’s. Our waiter, Dimitrius, was kind and friendly. The service was quick, but not at all rushed. The meal was excellent. We were visiting from another state, but if we’re back we will definitely be back!
