disappointed in our table spot ( y the kitchen and the outdoor to the bathroom). Asked to be switched but all other tables taken. Next time I will ask for a table in the corner or by the front windows. Service was great. Our main course special was very good aNd the dessert was phenomenal.

We’ve been going to the garden grill for Mother’s Day for the past several years. This year everything was great, including service, waiter, food, dessert, and ambience. And you can’t be the views.

Our server provided excellent service. He was very polite and thoughtful providing just the right about of attention and space for us to thoroughly enjoy our meal and conversation. We appreciated how he went the extra mile to make this lunch a truly special meal to celebrate my friend's birthday. The food was well prepared, however, the chicken was a bit overcooked. The selection on the menu could be more exciting but, overall, I was very happy with the meal.

The new menu was wonderful. Crispy chicken sandwich remains popular with my family but the salmon entree was the best I had in quite some time. No trip to NYBG is complete without a meal here.

Usually excellent food, but this time the crispy chicken cobb salad had overcooked, dry chicken and bacon. The smoked salmon salad was light on salad, but had a fair amount of smoked salmon. The blueberry infused tequila special was not worth the $18.00 charge, it should have been an $8.00 drink. A special peach drink lacked the peach flavor. Service was good and the setting is pleasant.

I was hoping that my less than stellar experience a couple months ago was just “an off day” for the restaurant. Unfortunately it seems it’s the new normal. I’ve been coming here for years and learned there is a new chef this season, and the changes are poor. The menu is pared down and missing some of my precious faves (bring back the broccolini app and local ricotta app - also, where are all the veggies???) and many of the chicken dishes that used to be made with juicy chicken breast is now made with dark meat and fried with what can only be described as “chicken nugget breading.” The chicken Cobb salad isn’t a salad at all - it comes with no more than 5-6 leaves of lettuce to which the chef has said “it’s supposed to be that way.” The final straw was the fact that many of the staff have taken to feeding local squirrels on the outdoor patio area (this took place the entire time I was eating outdoors). The squirrels are so used to this that they approach tables, go under them, and won’t leave. I certainly don’t want rodents hanging around while I am eating. Upon complaining, the host area apologized and said “they are like our pets.” Once shooed away, some of the service staff continued to call them over to feed them. We even saw there were glasses of water on the ground for the squirrels to drink. This restaurant used to be a wonderful addition to our visits to the Botanical Gardens (we are members are visit frequently), but now it’s just overpriced and not very enjoyable. Unless there are some major changes, I don’t think we’ll be back.

My husband and I had lunch during a visit to the NY Botanical Gardens and ate outside in the shade. The service and food was very good and the ambience so nice. They have an interesting menu. I recommend it.

Enjoyed a delightful lunch with friends on a Tuesday afternoon. Our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was lovely. And the food was delicious. I had the veggie burger, which was one of the best I have eaten. Very fresh and accented with gourmet condiments.

Very poorly managed reservations. Booked a table for two, there were no options about indoor, outdoor, bar, or cocktail table seating so one would assume you're going to be seated in the dining room. Wrong. I arrive and I'm told because I booked "more recently" (6 days in advance) we had to sit at the bar. I would have booked elsewhere because my mom is older and bar seating doesn't work for her. They had all my contact info through OpenTable but didn't bother to call and let me know they didn't have enough tables- let me decide. The bar was cold, the service at the bar was poor and the food was meh. Also the food turned cold so quickly because we were seated by the door and it was cold today. Bottom line, I would not return - more because of the food and service than anything else.

The Salmon was awesome; shared with special lady brought to the final weekend of Orchid Nights and the food at Hudson did not disappoint, I recommend visiting for whoever enjoys time at NYBG.

The food was horrible. I ordered a Cobb salad, and not only was there barely any lettuce, they served it with old dressing that had been sitting in the cup so long that a yellow circle had formed around it. The chicken was flavorless and over fried. The " mocktail" was just bitter hibiscus tea. With tip I spent $50 for food I could not eat. Not worth the money or the calories .

I had a 1 pm reservation and when i arrived I was told that i has to sit outdoors and not indoors. This was never specified in the reservation. I was told I had to wait for 75 min to get am indoor seat. I insisted and was seated sooner. This os a major flaw.

This is a lovely situated restaurant on the NYBG. The atmosphere is pretty and filled with light. If you’re lucky enough to be seated outside, you’ll enjoy the plantings. The menu is simple and filled with interesting delicious choices. It’s not inexpensive but it’s reasonable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I’m looking forward to returning.

Limited menu....I didn't get the side dish I ordered, but overall it was nice. It was pricey but nowadays everything is pricey.

The person that greeted us lacked any enthusiasm and his reaction was almost one of annoyance at our arrival. The menu said 1/2 chicken dish but it turned to be only a chicken breast (really guys, just print another copy of the menu!!) we ordered fries but never got them. The wine list has only one NY wine and is very limited.

We went to the Orchid Show at the Botanical Gardens so made lunch reservation at Hudson Grill. I’ve been before and it was a lovely lunch. Today, not so much. I ordered the buttermilk chicken Cobb Salad w well done bacon and received a mash of avocado, blue cheese, mealy diced tomato and egg under 3 pieces of wilted lettuce and a cold, over battered chicken cutlet with a slice of raw bacon cut in thirds. My daughters’ chicken and chicken sandwich were mediocre at best. On a positive note, I like the attitudinal hosts, our server was lovely.

Always an excellent time, and was a great surprise dinner for friends before we went to the Orchid Night. On the pricier side, but it's absolutely delicious.

We had a delicious lunch on a rainy day. Food and service were very good but prices are a little high. $16 for a small round of carrot cake?
