    Service was a little slow, waitresses forgot to fetch our food, so mains were a little cool. But overall was a great night

    Hooded Merganser is a beautiful facility. Friendly staff. However, so, so over priced. Dinner at 6 pm and they ran out of the only chicken entree they had. So I settled for fish. It was very good, however, VERY small portions... 1/2 cup of garlic mash, a few roasted veg (3 small pieces to be exact) and a piece of halibut for $38.00 YIKES! Partners steak was NOT as requested.. asked medium rare, but was served medium to medium well - edges were very overdone / chewy. We were going to get desert, however, only 3 to choose from. Prices are ridiculous. We won't be back anytime soon.

    Based on the reviews and past experiences I knew it would be either really good or really bad. Good news…. it was really good! The tenderloin steak was great and the lamb chops were tasty. Like anywhere prices are high but I think it’s par for the course. Service was very good as well. The not so good…..The tables were so close together you had a hard time getting in and out of your chair. I literally had someone’s hair touching me 😳 When we called about reservations we were told they were fully booked. I found this really odd as it’s not tourist season here yet and there wasn’t anything going on in town. I opened Open Table and there were all kinds of slots open 😳 so we booked it lol. Maybe they want all resos to go through Open Table?

    We visited Hooded Merganser twice while we were in Penticton area for a wedding. From the moment we were seated at the table overlooking the lake, the service, food and general vibe were great. I had the ahi tuna poke bowl which was delicious. Hubby ordered the fish and chips and said it was delicious. I'm sure it could have fed two people quite easily. Wine/beer selection isn't extensive but I'm sure there is something on there for anyone who enjoys that. Even though the restaurant was quite full on a Wednesday night, you could talk comfortably and still be heard. I would highly recommend visiting for a nice meal with a great view.

    Beautiful picturesque patio right on the lake. Love the view, great service very pleasant waitress, food was very well priced. Would definitely recommend & be back Thank you

    An enjoyable evening even if the food really wasn't so great. We've had better food here, but we know that getting staff is a continual headache for all restaurants, so we tend to cut everyone some slack. The staff were attentive even if they were probably covering too many tables. Great views and ambiance make this definitely worth the visit and we hope that next time we dine here we'll see the food return to previous higher quality standards. Overall decent value for money and a nice place to take visitors.

    The service was excellent from start to finish. My only complaint is that I thought salad portions were small for $18.00. Expected more substance.

    It was a great experience. Our waitress was excellent as was the young lady who greeted us at the door and seated us. The view is spectacular!! You can view the lake from almost anywhere in the restaurant. The drinks were very good. We also found the prices reasonable. We had the salmon and it was excellent.

    Very noisy. Took my wife out for dinner here. Did not get the evening we had hoped for. Did not acknowledge her birthday. Dinner was okay but not as good as previous visit when we had the same order. Server was good although she did not introduce herself because it was busy. Just too loud for a quiet dinner!
