LOCALLY MINDED. RESPONSIBLY RAISED

Housed in two of Vancouver’s most iconic buildings, Homer St Cafe and Bar is a contemporary restaurant set in the historic Homer Building and new Beasley building in Vancouver’s Yaletown district. Classic comfort cooking takes centre stage thanks to a fire engine red rotisserie that roasts all manner of proteins. It’s chicken that’s the star here: served in quarter, half or whole portions, accompanied by classic sides basted in jus. A decidedly adventurous wine and cocktail list rounds out the menu. The restaurant features two spaces that consist of an open concept kitchen “Chef’s Bar” where one can get up close and personal with the culinary team, a private dining room with reclaimed factory windows, and bespoke seating complemented by antique tiling.

                                                      The food was fantastic, but the star of the night was Stephanie A. I had a group of 5 people and we all travel for work and spend a fair bit of time eating at restaurants, but all thought she was one of the best servers we have had in years! The food is elevated and delicious and the portion sizes are perfect!

                                                      Great location and service. Wish I had known in advance that only the happy hour menu is available from 2:30 to 5:30. I made a reservation that I thought was for an early dinner before a graduation - only to find out we were confined to the happy hour menu of bar food - it was good but not what we had in mind. Chicken wings and fries for 4 people and 3 alcoholic drinks , one fizzy water and one coke set us back $185 We would not have gone there at that time had we understood the menu was so limited. The food was OK for what it was but we wanted a nice dinner. Need to clarify online - that is where we made our reservation after perusing the menu that was on there for lunch and dinner. Not mention of what was available 2:30 to 5:30 every day.

                                                      It was our first time visiting this restaurant. The staffs were all very friendly and welcoming. Though we don't drink alcohol, the server at our table still recommendded us some tasty soft drinks. The food from appetizer to dessert were all very decent, I would like to revisit for the spotted prawns that I missed. If you are not sure what to order in this restaurant, never hesitate to ask the heart-warming staffs for any advice. Last but not least, WOW to the strawberry shortcake and cheese cake, really fabulous taste that we will definitely order again!

                                                      Very interesting menu with sharing options so 4 people can try a number of items. Extensive beverage menu. Great location for dinner before an event at Rogers Arena or BC Place.

                                                      We came towards the end of Happy Hour and the vibe was very energetic. The server then seated a VERY noisy threesome right next to us and their pitched screaming “conversation” drowned out our good mood. However, the waitstaff was great, the drinks were exceptional and the food was delectable. I can’t fault the restaurant for some very rude customers right next to us…
