Our food was really good. The service however was disappointing. Our server never came back to check on us. We finally ended up finding the manager for help. No one ever cleared dirty dishes and empty glasses. We didn’t have enough room in our table for our food. It was super disappointing!!!

There were 4 of us for dinner. Portions and food arrived as expected. However, one person ordered a teriyaki steak and it was way over cooked. The server didn’t notice he didn’t even eat any. She never asked if our food was good or if any issues. The rest of the meals were good.

My wife and I had a nice date night dinner. We had several Sushi selections. I am not a fan of the QR menus, especially when we were new there.

Having eaten at a different Hiro 88 many times, this was our first and last time at the Millard location. We had reservations to celebrate our daughter’s 20th birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted by two less than enthusiastic staff. One went to the dining room to see if our table was ready and returned to seat us in the bar area. We brought a cake and we were informed there would be a fee if we ate the cake there, which was fine. However, when we asked our waiter about lighting the candles and bringing to the table, we were informed that probably wouldn’t work as the manager had fire concerns. Our waiter was good and the food was fine but not exceptional. Overall, we felt like we imposed on the staff by showing up and we were disappointed in the experience. We will go back to Hiro 88, just not this location.

The dinner was very great quality and the server was very polite, timely, and courteous. The value for the quality of food was excellent. This is a family-favorite location to eat on celebratory occassions.

We usually go for Sunday happy hour. They weren't doing all day happy hour due to the holiday but that wasn't posted anywhere on their website, while making the reservation, and not mentioned to us by the host. Only told after we were sat down and the waitress let us know. Decided to order from the actual lunch menu and I've had better Japanese food at malls. The chicken terriakyi was clearly premade and then reheated with a sauce consistenting only of soy sauce. Was weirdly chewy. Would only recommend this place for it's happy hour on sushi, nothing else. Our server did an excellent job.

Food was good. We were put into a back room through which we entered through the servers' galley. Our server was very nice and helpful. We struggled with the online menus which are awful to download and hard to read. We were finally given actual menus. That sped up the process. it was a fine dinner and we had a nice time. We felt it was a bit pricey.

Our server, Lindsay, was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Her upbeat personality made our evening. It is so rare to find an amazing server so we appreciated her so much. The delicious brussel sprouts were a bonus!! They were AMAZING!!!

Made a reservation for Hiro 88 but it was very quiet. Service was excellent and our food came out very fast (both appetizer and sushi arrived at the same time and within a few minutes of ordering). Despite the quick arrival of our food, we did not feel rushed and enjoyed the ambiance and our dinner.

Unfortunately our dinner experience was not great this evening. Service was slow and server seemed upset, forgotten plate came after the rest of us finished and food wasn’t good (had to send one dish back). Spoke with manager who said his upper management does not allow them to do anything about poor service.

Great for an American twist on makimono but average for sashimi. If you're looking for filling and heavy makimono, this is the place to go. However, if you're more in the mood for traditional, you might want to pass this one up. Service was outstanding though.

Service was great, but server was very pushy trying to up-sell. I know it’s starting to become the new norm, but I like to see a paper bill that I can look at, write in a tip and sign. I do not like the hand held machines where they put you on the spot, then stand behind you while you pick a tip amount and sign.

Food was good and served in good time, but service was to be desired. Our app plates and salad dishes sat in the table long after finishing. No water refills before dinner entre was served.

The worst experience I ever had. My wife, son, and I went for reverse happy hour today. I have never written a bad review for anyone. It was our first time trying Hiro 88. We spent $150 during reverse happy hour. I couldn’t eat any of the sashimi. It smelled extremely fishy and the scales were still on some of the pieces. The shrimp as so dry we couldn’t eat it. They forgot our beef and broccoli with rice. They had to bring it to go because we were done. The beef was disgusting and ended up throwing it away.

Have been to all of Hiro 88 locations. Never had a problem until going to this location. Have been to this location in the past as well with no issues but this time we did not feel welcomed. Hostess had an attitude with the person that was going to seat us. From the moment we went in we were told about fire hazards three to four times. Then we were told we could not have food for our 2 year old that was not from the restaurant. Manager claimed he would make exceptions for babies only. Since when is a 2 year old an adult? Our child has allergies to certain foods so we bring out own food for her. We have brought food into the downtown location without issues as well for her. The high chairs were also filthy and we had to clean them ourselves when we were seated. We ended up leaving since they were not able to accommodate our child needing her own food. So please be aware before visiting this restaurant if you have kids with dietary needs or someone with Celiacs as they will not accommodate to you

It was one of the most amazing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. First of all we arrived ten minutes early for our 6pm reservation. And we were out by 6:20. Emily and her coworkers were super efficient and the turnaround from ordering to being served to checking out was seamless. Soup, appetizers, and entrees were hot and / or room temperature and delicious. Me and my two young children had a great time and a great meal.

We really enjoyed our Mother's Day and Birthday Lunch. Our daugher was born 23 years ago on Mother's Day. So we had a double reason to celebrate. We love HIRO 88.

Our food was great, but the margarita was very salty, even after asking for a second one without the salted rim. The rest of the drinks (Princess cocktails) were good. We had the yin’s chicken, sesame chicken, and curry chicken. The curry chicken was lacking a bit in the flavor, but the rest of the dishes were fantastic! I do wish there was an option to have fried rice on the side rather than only steamed rice.

I have eaten here many times in recent years. The restaurant seems to be struggling, now. Service was excellent, but the food was disappointing. My shrimp tempura had no shrimp at all. I suspect the cook misread the order. Also, the dish of white rice served with it was a bit dry on the outside surface, as though it had been sitting for some time before serving. Additionally, my son's order included cilantro or some similar vegetable, which had not been properly chopped, such that the stems were long and stringy. Not a huge deal, but overall rather disappointing.
