Arrived for our 615pm reservation a few minutes early and was seated withing 5 minutes. The main point of this review is the very/very/very slow service by Hennen's restaurant that I have been to many times over the past five years. I brought my family of (4) for a birthday celebration dinner for my oldest son. Our server was Courtney - nice young women who easily outlined the specials. We placed our drink and appetizer orders immediately.... it took 40 minutes to get our appetizers which were the roasted cauliflower and the calamari. The roasted cauliflower was great - served hot, nice spice to it, really a hit - 5 Stars! The calamari that I have had many times before came out cold.... soggy.... I assume it had be finished much earlier and just sat.. and sat... and sat for 30 minutes before our server delivered it to our table. Bad way to start the dinner. Next item - drink service was so very slow.... we sat at the restaurant until about 8pm or 1-hour & 45 minutes... we got two drinks because between each order it took 30-40 minutes to deliver it. Our server (Courtney) also said she would bring some bread & butter.. it never showed up.... Our main courses we ordered around 640pm or even before our appetizers arrived.... but they did not make it to our table until 7:20pm or 40 minutes later..... the fish was great (nice Caribbean spice), our filet was ordered "medium" but came out medium rare - was still very good. The mash potatoes were over-whipped & tasted 'grainy' which happens when you over mash/whip them. The last entree was a New York Strip - was ordered "Medium Rare" and came our well done... not much pink at all, overcooked. So - just a disappointing experience at Hennen's and there are too many options locally for good steak to settle for poor service and improperly cooked/served food. Next time will go to Main Street Meats, Bridgeman's Chophouse at the Read, or Ruth Chris.. or even the Whitebird at the Edwin Hotel has a nice filet.

Our first visit to Hennen’s was a very good experience. The food was excellently prepared and service was great and not pushy. We had the scallops and steak Oscar and was exceptional! For dessert be sure to order the sticky toffee carrot cake which was unusual and delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant for a nice evening out.

The overall experience at Hennen's was excellent. The food was perfectly prepared and the taste was extraordinary. From the appetizer through main course to dessert, each dish was unique and tasted fantastic. I've eaten at enough fine dining restaurants to know when a place has an excellent chef... and Hennen's does! You will not be disappointed!

The service was outstanding without being too overall formal as at a traditional steakhouse. The food was very good. They will work very hard to accommodate people with severe food allergies.
