Never had a bad meal here. Usually start with the Gumbo. Cod is great. Coconut Shrimp is outstanding. Unfortunately they were out of carrot cake tonight.

Had reservation but didn’t matter. Still waited 45 min after reservation time. Server was nice and friendly but was struggling with drink orders. When the food came out they brought everyone’s plate out one at a time. It took them 15 min to get out entrees out to table. We had a party of 3. Overall will not be back. Way over priced for the food we recieved.

Server had minimal listening skills making multiple mistakes and very slow service. Fish dishes were over cooked. Unfortunate as we have had positive experiences in the past.

Wonderful Mother’s Day celebration at Hefner Grill. Food was excellent and service was good—a little slower than usual due to Mother’s Day rush. I had the Ritz crusted baked cod and it was excellent. Key Lime pie was outstanding.

The service was poor to non-existent. I believe that it points to management and a total lack of training. One of four dinners “lost”. Never checked to see if something was wrong. Had to get the attention of the waiter and even then he couldn’t figure it out. Just started to eat and he brings out desert for two of the diners. There was more but the above highlights a messed up evening that should have been great.

We were not greeted or smiled at when we saw the hostess. I informed them I had a reservation and I was just told that they have 4 other reservations they need to seat before us so we would have to wait. Service was better once we sat down, everyone who came to our table was very nice and smiled at us. Food was great.

We could not have asked for a better experience. Although it was Mother’s Day and it was packed. We got seated right away because we made previous reservations on Open Table. Best decision ever. Also the staff was great and even the managers were graciously working side by side the staff because it was so busy. Food was top notch as always. It was perfect.

It was a very busy night but we were seated very close to our reservation time. Nice live music and a beautiful view of the lake at sunset. The food was superb and the portions were generous. Suggest the Teriyaki Mahi.

Way to loud, hard to talk or noise. It would be more enjoyable if I could hear the people I was eating with and trying to talk to. Also, the specials I get notification of via email have changed. These items are not on the menu, but now instead me being able to scroll through these special offerings, they scroll on their own, and they scroll too fast to read. The waiter didn't know what all of them were, and you can't get anything written when you get to the restaurant. If you can't read the description, then you can't order it. Please Fix ASAP.

For a holiday weekend they had far too few servers. And the orders were constantly messed up. I got my entrée before I got my appetizer and my mixed drink before I got my water. The kitchen and the white staff were not in harmony at all. totally unprepared for a holiday weekend

We had a great view of Hefner Lake. I had the fish & chips it looked good big pieces of what you thought it would be fish, but it was mainly breading and they were greasy. Couple of friends had the burger and catfish lots of food they said it was good. I’ll be going back but I’ll definitely get something different.

As always Hefner Grill doesn’t disappoint. Service is always exceptional, food is wonderful and sitting on the lake side is always a treat. It’s a great place to go have a lovely meal without having a tv playing somewhere being a distraction.

If you’re looking for a beautiful view of a lake along with fantastic food and libations near Oklahoma City then this is your place! Near a marina and other great looking places, this would be my choice every time! The coconut shrimp, the pecan crusted trout were so yummy, we’d never find that anywhere else!

The food, service, cleanliness, and attention to detail is amazing! The team at this restaurant works so well together! They are all friendly and accommodating to the highest level! Went for brunch and the live music. Nice restaurant, enjoyed the live music, and the brunch was pretty good. The only thing is that the hollandaise sauce on my egg Benedict wasn’t very tasty and not enough as it was just drizzled on top. But they did bring me extra when I asked for it. Everything else was satisfying.

Last minute decision to go out for dinner. Very pleased with the choice! Great food, exemplary service, very reasonably priced, and a marvelous sunset. We will return!

We eat at Hefner Grill several times every year and usually have a good experience. This time was different. We were seated at a table tightly surrounded by other guests. The wait staff kept squeezing between our table to get to others. Very annoying. Our waiter didn’t seem capable of handling multiple tables and our service was below average. The managers did fill in some and that was helpful. Food seemed bland for both our orders. We’ll probably come back again and hope for a better experience next time.

Took my wife out to dinner for her birthday. I for got our server’s name but Jakob also helped out a a lot & showed us to our table. Jakob did an excellent job and was very knowledgeable of the menu and the restaurant. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks Jakob👍🏿

Food is always outstanding here, had the catfish this time and it was fantastic. I like the way they allow you to substitute the sides. Just an enjoyable meal in a wonder restaurant.

We went for my daughters birthday and there were about 8 of us, we got a large booth but would have preferred a table as it a little cramped with 6 adults and 1 kid and 2 teens. The food was really great and the service was good. Everyone enjoyed their food whether it was a cheeseburger, cedar plank salmon,oysters, lobster roll... and the ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. We enjoyed the view of the lake and a beautiful sunset to finish off the evening!

Extremely busy but it was a Friday night. Had reservations but did wait an additional 15 minutes after arriving- Food delicious as with all Hal Smith restaurants. Sunset absolutely beautiful!!!

Service was less than desirable. We have been there several times before and it has been too notch. Not this time. It took forever for wait staff to come, order was incorrect- wrong food brought to us. Then when corrected, food came out at different time for all of us. And food was not its usual quality. Even french fries on 2 sides was cold, asked to bring hot, and still cold when brought. We left most of the food on our plates. The waiter noted poor service and food quality due to large party being served. We had made reservations ourselves weeks ahead. A prof waitstaff would be apologizing for poor service and food and let their manager know. I don’t imagine Hefner Grill would want any of its returning or new customers to review its restaurant staff and food in this way.
