Hamiltons of Stockbridge is a multi award winning, relaxed environment where the carefully sourced menu changes with the seasons and drinks are a well-chosen blend of beautiful wines and modern standards with a subtle twist. Hamiltons maintains a comprehensive selection of beers spanning all the local favourites as well as an carefully selected cocktail menu including unique creations such as the Rum and Raisin milk punch. The food menu is an ever-changing experience that includes popular items. Hamiltons can be found at 16-18 Hamilton Place, near to The Water of Leith and Edinburghs New Town, a short walk from Jubilee Garden and around 10 minutes by bus to the Royal Botanical Gardens. Hamiltons was created with locals in mind, but welcomes everyone and prides itself on its friendly staff and warm atmosphere. We are also a dog friendly venue with the exception of the raised restaurant area. We also welcome U18's until 8pm.

We went for an evening meal then back the next day for brunch. The staff were all really attentive and friendly and stopped for a chat on both occasions making us feel very relaxed and welcome. Food was great and the size & quality of the full Scottish breakfast went down a treat.

I’ve been to Hamilton’s quite a few times for brunch, this was a first in the evening. Best steak I’ve had in a long time and the cocktails are really good too. 5 stars

Excellent, tasty food and nice wine. Staff couldn’t have been more attentive and efficient. We were visit for an early birthday celebration meal but can recommend for any occassion, just a great place for a meal & drink. Highly recommend.

Disappointing. Food choices were off the menu so limited to very few dishes. We waited and waited for our order and had to remind the waiter that we were still waiting. The food was adequate but the vegetables were almost raw. There was a very annoying dog intermittently barking at a nearby table - not good. We felt sorry for the waiter who admitted he was having a bad day. But the Prosecco was lovely!

A bit of a disappointing experience. I think it's a bit confused as to what it's trying to be - is it a lively bar with loud music and cocktails, is it a high-end gastropub, is it something else? The food was fine but could have been improved and wasn't to the same standard as the photos on the website suggested. Service was quite poor but it was NYE so it could perhaps be something to forgive. Probably won't be back.

Having been a regular visitor of Hamiltons for the past 7years although the bar is still great, the standard of food has sadly declined on our last few visits
