Opened in November 2010, Hakkasan Mayfair is the second London edition to the acclaimed Hakkasan brand. Innovatively created cocktails and a unique wine list, are combined with carefully chosen dim sum and Chinese dishes that are ever changing, dynamic and new. The result is authentic Cantonese cooking with a contemporary flare – at once subtle and thrilling - and all made with the best ingredients. Hakkasan Mayfair is set over two floors. The lower ground floor invites the guest to the traditional Hakkasan setting, surrounded by intricate wooden screens allowing intimate dining, whilst, the ground floor brings a combination of relaxed atmosphere and a vibrant bar encouraging guests to indulge in an inspired environment. Surprisingly, I found the £39 menu better (and much better value for money of course) than the £90 tasting menu.

Ce restaurant n’a rien à voir avec les autres Restaurants de la chaîne. Déjà, au niveau de la nourriture, le canard laqué, plat, signature, est complètement raté. Servi sur des crêpes froides avec très peu de chair et un peu de peau. Un deuxième service du dit canard Arrive ensuite, qui est plus ou moins qu’une espèce de purée. Pas de cuisses, rien Au prix de 130 livres, je trouve ça exorbitant. D’autre part, le service et lamentable, les serveurs n’écoutent pas ce que vous leur dites et ils peuvent vous servir, en désordre, le dessert et le plat PUIS l’entrée Le service du vin est également déplorable. Aucune idée de la manière dont on doit verser raisonnablement du vin dans un verre. Si j’ai bien une adresse a éviter : HAKKASAN MAYFAIR LONDRES Pourtant, les autres Restaurant de la chaîne que je connais : Dubaï, Abou Dhabi, etc. sont absolument remarques

I booked a table for an evening meal and deal with the confusion of an mistaken identity. The host and her colleague tried to claim that someone else checked in under my name (not John Smith but a distinctive Eastern European one); an awkward situation of the restaurant not letting me and my friend in for 5 minutes and insisting that i was already there, supposedly eating!) I have found the reception incompetent and confused, eventually they admitted it was some sort of mistake. I insisted on 2 glasses of free drinks which the restaurant accepted but I am not coming there again. The food was good and the table service was OK, brought one dish instead of 2 overall - confused people working in this place!
