Our family was born in Oaxaca and migrated to the US in 1994. Ever since then, our goal has been to showcase not only our family recipes, but also the hard work and dedication that goes into each of them. Each year, we travel to Oaxaca, and hand pick our ingredients, and carefully select the people we partner with. Guelaguetza is a restaurant, boutique market, and advocates for Oaxacan culture located in the heart of Korea-town in Los Angeles. Our motivation behind our products is simple: uncompromising quality. The products found in our store have taken years of development, and we hope that when taking your first taste of our Mole, or your first sip of our Michelada, you are transported into what Oaxaca means to us...a true Guelaguetza.

Fantastic restaurant, incredible food. Inside can be loud if a band is playing, but the band was great. Outside is a lovely space and much quieter if that's what you want.

This is a wild and loud place where people show up in groups of 15 to 20 for celebrations. People were laughing and shouting. Inside, there was a band that was deafening. We went outside onto a large covered patio. There were three groups of at least 20 people. And it was chilly. I guess it’s just not our kind of place. The staff was amazing, handling the large crowds. We were looking for a charming place with outstanding food. The food was just so-so. It was definitely an experience we won’t forget. Very fun if that’s what you’re looking for.

Felt like they are upselling their food. Beware that server will say: “rice and beans?, and will add a warm tortilla with that. “ each charged separately. Another kid spilled my daughter’s agua fresca drink and the waiter replaced it and charged us twice. I have never experienced something like that in any other restaurant of this type.

great food, but we always sit outside because the music in the dining room is so loud !

Our reservation was at 7:45 when we arrived we checked in and were told it would be a 30 min wait. Reservation just gives you a higher place in line. We were seated by 8:30. The waitress was amazing but our food took forever. We received our plates til about 9:20pm This place has changed over the years. I understand the popularity but why take reservations if they can’t be honored.

Horchata seemed a little too watered down, the food unfortunately was not hot enough (temperature) also seemed like it needed a little more flavor/spice The ambience and restaurant is always full of energy and allergenic, which we love Unfortunately this time wasn’t the best but We love Guelaguetza and will continue to dine there on special occasions, and just because

Great place for cinco de mayo. Sit inside for the live band. Outside the patio is nice too though chairs kind of skinny.

Get the Oaxacan specialties. Since it’s a Oaxaca restaurant, the Oaxaca dishes are the better options of all the food. Pozole was bland and not worth the price. $23?!! Skip it. I can make it better myself. The ambience is amazing. The drinks were yummy! It’s a great place to go for the ambience, have some drinks and maybe a few apps. We went for a birthday lunch and it was great but I’m not sure we would go back for that kind of occasion. The food is mid. Definitely not worth the pricey. We had a large party and they charged us 20% tip. I understand why and it doesn’t bother me when restaurants add the gratuity to the check for a big party. There was 12 of us. But 20%?! Usually it’s 18%. 2% may not seem like much, but it is when it’s a big bill. The servers weren’t as attentive since they knew they’d be getting a 20% tip regardless. Overall, it’s a lovely restaurant with a great ambience, good drinks, some good dishes but mostly mid, and decent service.
