Le Green Dragon Tavern & Museum est la dernière attraction de l'heure du Carlsbad en Californie. L'espace de 22 000 pieds carrés dispose d'un musée, d'un restaurant, de 2 tavernes, d'une boutique souvenir et d'une salle de bal disponible pour des événements corporatifs ou privés. Le G.D.T. & M. crée une ambiance accueillante pour célébrer, se commémorer et honorer l'histoire américaine, les pères fondateurs et apprécier leur contribution à notre société moderne. Offrant un accès gratuit au musée, l'établissement abrite des documents datant de l'époque coloniale et de la guerre de l'indépendance. C'est l'occasion pour petits et grands de découvrir les richesses de l'histoire du pays. Le chef du restaurant, Gregory Krol propose un menu où les traditions de «l'ancien monde» et du «nouveau monde» se rencontrent. Il est essentiellement composé à partir de produits locaux provenant des fermes, et issus d'une agriculture durable.

Several of us had lobster rolls that were ok. Smelled a bit fishy as if a couple of days old and rolls were overly rich soaked in butter. Service was adequate. Dining room is quiet for conversations, but was nearly empty on this Saturday evening.

We reserved a table for five for a birthday party. 2kids meals came right out. The adult entrees came out 40 minutes later after we asked where the food was. No explanation given. When I asked what some foreign strings of what appeared to be fish line in my chicken Parmesan meat, I was told it was thyme. These were smooth 2inch bendable strings monofilaments in the meat of the chicken. The waiter took the dish away. When the bill arrived it included the chicken Parmesan. I asked why we were charged since most of the meal was sent back. The simple response was “You said you didn’t want it “. After discussing the waiter agreed to delete that singular charge and added, if we would have asked him in advance he would have discouraged the chicken Parmesan.

The food was fantastic and our waiter was too! Would totally eat there again. I had cedar plank salmon and my Mom had the halibut.

The Shepard's Pie was great, and there was a lot of food—good value! The Clam Chowder was delicious. The clam and mussel steamer that my wife got was good, but not a great value. The Museum was interesting and had a lot of square footage, but there were no actual antiques (just replicas). A great place to visit.

We were placed in a dining room that had a birthday party for 25 people. The were extremely loud and the acoustics in the room amplified the noise level. We asked to be moved into a different room but supposedly none was available. We did move tables. Fortunately my wife travels with ear plugs so we took advantage of them. Even the waiter had a difficult time understanding us due to the noise level. I doubt if we will ever return.
