Opened in 1982, Gordon’s Trattoria can be found at 231 High Street overlooking The Royal Mile. Set in Old Town near Edinburgh Castle and St. Giles’ Cathedral, this restaurant prides itself in offering delicious homemade Italian cuisine. A few local Scottish favourites like spicy haggis also find their ways into the menu. The menu showcases an admirable balance between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. The ambience is cheerful which aptly complements the food quality. Soft music playing in the background further enhances the charm of dining in Gordon’s Trattoria. Along with a variety of pastas and pizzas, the restaurant offers a good selection of bruschetta and focaccia bread. Separate children’s portions are available at a reduced rate.     We had a very nice meal at Gordon’s Trattoria before going on to a concert. Varied menu, food tasty, staff were very attentive, price reasonable for Edinburgh. I would go back again.

    Food was amazing and really friendly staff with great banta. It’s definitely a must if you’re in Edinburgh to go to this restaurant great fun.

    We had a pizza and a calzone and both were absolutely delicious. We will definitely eating here again next time we’re up in Edinburgh.

    Lovely atmosphere busy and food was great. Nice touch for my friends birthday special request on the house and everyone in the restaurant sung together with the waitress. Thank you
