Gjelina is a restaurant specializing in New American cuisine. Open every day from 8 a.m. until 11pm, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.
For breakfast, try 9 grain pancakes with butter and maple syrup or warm banana buckwheat loaf with butter and jam of the day. Brunch options include Moroccan baked eggs and 7 grain porridge. Gjelina offers a variety of oysters, crudo, charcuterie and salad options to start at lunch and dinner. Main courses include pizzas from our wood fired oven and entrees like duck confit, house made pastas and roasted organic half chicken.
*Only ADA certified animals are allowed in Gjelina
*A 20% Mandatory Service Charge is added to your check. Our belief is that every hourly Gjelina employee contributes to your service and 100% of the MSC will be distributed amongst them.

    We were disappointed. Five of us were seated at a table for four even though we had a reservation. Though some dishes were good, the other dishes were nothing special and portion was kind of small. We also felt rushed as they took our plates away as soon as we finished the food (or almost finished it), without asking if we were finished. They even took our utensils while we were still waiting for another dish! We will not going back.

    Sad that I won't recommend Gjelina anymore. Why? Four of us spent close to $450. Because two of my party, both from out of town who got lost were a little late, we weren't able to sit until we were all there. Started a celebratory night on a sour note. Considering the spend, the hospitality should be welcoming, not restrictive. Then the value of the food. $18 for eight florets of cauliflower; $18 for five potatoes drowning in a horseradish sauce so thick the potatoes were screaming for their lives, never mind that it's sick to be charged $3 per potato; and my chicken had clearly been cooked much earlier and put back in the oven and under the broiler with zero consideration of tenderness or flavor; it was like eating my old baseball mitt. And the kale beneath it was soggy and flavorless. There's nothing to do about the noise level, that's on me. But dessert - rhubarb-strawberry with almond gelato - lacked even the slightest attempt at flavor or nuance. It was way too hot to begin with (microwave? broiler?), leaving the crumble to simply melt in gooey clumps. The only thing that did come out nicely were the fries. It's such a shame. I have liked Gjelina since it opened and am a big fan of Gjusta. But Gjelina lost me for failing on two vital counts - taste and value.

    Look don’t waste your time. The food is fine and the ambience is nice but the service was atrocious. We had to wait 30 minutes for a reservation that we showed up on time for. We ordered and got our apps quickly but had to wait 40 minutes for the rest of our food and had to ask someone to please check on it. They gave us an excuse that there was a large party that was slowing the kitchen but we’d been watching tables around us get served the whole time. When it was time to pay we asked for the bill to be split between two cards. My partner put the wrong card down that only had $50 available on it and instead of asking us for a different card or verifying it would be fine to run the other card for the rest they just ran it which is ridiculously unacceptable. This place really disappointed me and I won’t suggest it or return. Ridiculous.

    We weren’t seated until almost an hour after our reservation. The only apology was free olives. Food was excellent but an embarrassing experience to bring a big group of friends to a restaurant and be treated this way.
