Chef Alex has curated a limited edition Oktoberfest Spezialitäten, showcasing the very best Oktoberfest foods.     The upstairs Restaurant at German Gymnasium takes diners on a journey around the lesser known aspects of German cuisine, with a sophisticated seasonal menu that is only available on our first floor. The Restaurant menu has been thoughtfully designed by our Executive Chef, Alexander Thiel, drawing on his experiences as a restauranteur in Berlin to deliver a unique experience for London’s foodies. Walk up the grandiose staircases in our Grade 2 listed historical building and soak up the high-ceilinged ambience, enjoy views over the buzzing ground floor Grand Café and order from the chic Meister Bar, which shares the first floor with the Restaurant. 2 courses - £30 3 courses - £35

    Our bread and olives arrived but just as it arrived, so did the main course! The waiter said the chef sent it and proceeded to place the main course in front of us. There was not much room! The aubergine schnitzel was too big for the plate and the crowded table which meant we couldn’t enjoy our bread and olives and the enormous main course. To reach for the bread my sleeve dunked in the tomato sauce!! We waited for the dessert menu, ordered, but the table wasn’t cleaned as the desserts arrived! It was supposed to be a celebration lunch for my daughter who has just graduated and got her first job. We were not even asked if we wanted coffee to finish! I am very disappointed ☹️

    Great eve , food and experience overall . We were surprise how packed it was on a Wednesday - led to a lot of noise ( or is that buz?!!) Service a little off because they were so busy - found ourselves asking g fur service mostly -v- a proactive attentive server . Definitely be back .

    Good German food served quickly in a beautiful building. Will definitely return. Had the jaegerschnitzel and a cold beer. Very good.

    The service is great with a very knowledgable, attentive and helpful waiter. However the food is a complete rip off. Green and White asparagus at £15 contained not one single tip of either colour just a few shredded stalks. No wonder the place is now half empty

    Have been here before, and it's a great location, with a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed a few weisbeers and some tasty food with a couple of old friends on a pleasant Friday evening. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite, even when asking us to move to another table to finish our drinks outside after we'd eaten, so they could prepare the table for the next service. One of our waiters followed up within a couple of minutes to return my phone to me which I'd left on my chair, which was very much appreciated. Will definitely come back again, and recommend it.
