I’ve enjoyed dining at Georgia Brown’s many times prior to last nights experience. I have not been back since prior to the pandemic but yesterday some friends and I decided to join. The service was great, the waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and very welcoming. However food taste and quality were abysmal. I ordered the “grilled lamb chops” that had no actual flavor I could not tell I was eating lamb at all. The “macaroni” was simple buttered noddles and 1 kind of shredded cheese (gave the impression of being made in the microwave, nothing to give me the impression that any talented chef was in the kitchen) and the “yams” lacked flavor and depth. Very disappointing for being a low country style restaurant as this meal left a lot to be desired! My suggestion is to revisit your recipes something must have changed.

Great meal. And staff were very helpful in accommodating us when a few more people showed up than we had expected with our already fairly large group.

I went to Georgia Brown's with a work colleague for dinner on a Wednesday night. The food and the service was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, we did not take into consideration that there was also amazing live music and so we were not able talk during dinner (which was totally fine b/c who really wants to have work conversations during dinner??!). It was a great night and forced us to actually enjoy our food and the atmosphere, which was a much better experience that what we were initially planning for. Highly recommend!

There was a screaming child at the restaurant that screamed for the whole time I was there it disturbed the whole restaurant . The food is very very overrated worst green I ever had no flavor to much vinegar and dry. Marconi and cheese gross. Catfish fingers were good and biscuits great. That about it we spent 220 dollars for 3 people . We all felt like we wasted money. We were visiting from California . We won’t be back never

My 2nd time dining at Georgia Browns. The food was excellent. Our waiter did a good job. Not the best service I have had when compared to other wait staff, but he was friendly and professional. Great food. Variety on the menu. The sides at this restaurant are on point. You must try the complimentary corn bread that is served. Overall I would recommend this restaurant.

I hate to give a poor review, but this was the absolute worse dining experience I have ever encountered. I was embarrassed as a Black person for the way our food was represented at GB. It lacked ALL of the soul that one would expect in some good ol’ home down southern soul food that your grandma would make for you after church for Sunday dinner. The gumbo was too spicy to eat and the roux extremely thick; all 3 orders weren’t eaten and one sent back. The “deviled” shrimp-please don’t do this. Just take it off the menu. The fried green tomatoes were flavorless and undercooked; too thick. Traditional sides: mac-n-cheese and yams, once again no flavor and the MC was oily too. When the cornbread was placed on the table as an app, we should have gotten up at the table then. Cornbread was cold, lacked butter, and was so sweet it could have been cake. Besides, who serves cornbread with unsalted margarine? The cocktails were sent back to make again and the peach cobbler was really a peach crisp that was also disappointing. The kitchen had one Black gentleman who was the head chef who should have been given a better kitchen staff who understands flavor profile. Additionally, it should have been an indicator to us that the restaurant was empty on a Friday evening at 7:30. Oh yea! The seats…upholstered without cushions or at least that’s the way they felt. My back was in so much pain when I got up, I could barely move. When the bill came, we couldn’t believe… almost $500 for 6 people and for what? NOTHING was good about GB except maybe the servers, and it was good service… just meh. We came for my sister’s birthday but all we kept doing was comparing her experience to mine at RPM the day before. Impeccable service and food over there… and our bill was $100 cheaper for the same amount of folks. After we left GB, we were so hungry. We would up walking a block and a half to grab food.
