Our second visit to Gallagher’s and their quality has stayed consistent from year to year. The best steaks I’ve ever had, and their cheesecake is unmatched. Heart service, too. My go-to steakhouse in New York.

An outstanding establishment! From the moment we entered, to the very last farewell, this has been the highlight of our trip to NY. The staff were warm and very friendly, explaining the full menu. George attended to us with humour, honesty and politeness. The steak was first class. with large side portions that matched the steak in quality and taste. I cannot recommend this NY legend of an eatery enough - the ambience, originality and genuine top class food and service make this a 'must do' when visiting the City.

It is a pricey meal but one that you will not regret. I rarely eat red meat, but the steak is the stuff of dreams: it's got a slight char on the outside, it's juicy and a bit salty, and somehow melts in your mouth. The side of broccoli rabe was the best I've ever had, and the sauteed mushrooms and mashed potatoes were perfect. The cocktail options were really fun and the selection of spirits gave us plenty of options. Dessert was another high point. Who does Baked Alaska anymore? Awesome! It was torched at the table for some extra flare. The creme brulee with the hint of orange was everything it should be, and the coconut cream pie was actually enhanced by the homemade crust which is not something that can often be said. However, the ambiance and outstanding service are equally as exceptional as the fare. It is a real experience and one I felt fortunate to experience with family.

Es war wirklich sehr lecker. Das Steak war super und auf den Punkt gebraten. Beilagen waren sehr groß und der Spinat und der Salat waren einfach gut. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. In meinen Augen ein wirklich tollen und super leckeres Steakhouse. Ich komme wieder. It was really very tasty. The steak was great and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were very large and the spinach and salad were simply delicious. The service was very friendly and courteous. In my opinion a really great and super tasty steakhouse. I will be back.

Fantastic experience at Gallagher’s! Graduation lunch celebration with absolutely impeccable service from Carmine and Ryan. Every dish we ordered was perfection. Highly recommend the excellent value three course lunch menu options - I enjoyed a Roquefort wedge salad, 10 oz perfectly prepared filet mignon and cheesecake. High praise for this old-school steak house, we will definitely return and thank Carmine and Ryan for making our celebration extra special!

Of all the old steakhouses in Manhattan, Gallaghers keeps it consistent. Great vibe and atmosphere (really old school), the weekday set lunch is a great deal @$32 and service was impeccable. Filet cooked to perfection. Can't wait to go back for dinner.

Best steak we've ever had. I ordered the 10oz filet minion and my husband the rib steak. Both were excellent. They cook them on a hickory wood fire stove which seems to make the nature flavors of the steak to really shine. We ordered the mashed potatoes and green beans as sides and they were excellent (note that the sides are a very generous portion size and come in a serving dish that can be served to more than one person, so we shared 1 order of mashed potatoes and 1 order of beans and there was still lots left). Had the cheesecake for dessert, AMAZING! So light and creamy, while still being rich. Location very convenient if staying around the Times Square area. You won't regret it.

Not our first time at Gallagher's and it didn't disappoint. It's a classic steakhouse setting (dark wood and pictures of horses all over the place). The drinks were "well poured" (not skimpy by any standard) and the food was as expected: well prepared, professionally served, and delicious. There is a reason Gallagher's has remained a 'must' steakhouse in a city overflowing with good meat joints! We highly recommend it for anyone coming to NYC who wants a taste of "Classic NY".

We have been to Gallaghers many times over many years. Tonight the first time in a few years. The seating seemed much more compact, almost claustrophobic. Way too tight. The steaks were ok, but I expected more than ok, with all that showy ageing it should have been perfect. Needed more seasoning and just not enough taste. The sides are massive, but if you don’t want to share you have to buy 2 and throw away over a whole serving which is environmentally and economically unsound

This classic never grows old. The ambiance is vibrant New York. the porterhouse is absolutely superb , the drinks are strong and the service is attentive. This is an occasion, not just a meal.

I visited NY with my friends and wanted a truly American experience, like in the movies… Gallaghers offered us that and incredible food! Highly recommend the Porterhouse steak and the cheesecake!
