The Best Food and Service in Covington! Food is always consistently excellent. The staff from the front greeting area to the wait staff is consistently accommodating to all of the needs of the customers. Do yourself a favor and give this restaurant a visit.

Three of us dined here on a Tuesday night. Gallagher's is one of our favorite places. We eat there several times per year. As I usually do, I get the Pompano, which is always fabulous. The citrus beurre blanc sauce is heavenly. Also had the seafood gumbo, which was great as usual. Dark roux and lots of seafood. Sides were asparagus (for my wife), sweet potato casserole (amazing) and potato au gratin. Great meal.

Not only was the food for all 6 of us exceptional, but it was a busy Mother’s Day and the service and organization could not have been better. Every dish from appetizers, to main course, to dessert was delicious!

We frequent Gallagher’s often, and drive from Ponchatoula to come. The food is always great, our server was obviously new, but both being former service industry workers we didn’t mind. However, we felt incredibly rushed last night by the staff. The gentleman host came and took our check basically signaling like get out of here. We hadn’t even finished all of our glass of wine. It appeared they needed our table to sit a larger party. Which is fine but offering us a seat at the bar to finish our drinks would have been nice. Our bill was well over $200 for two of us, a nice date night led to us feeling rushed to close out our bill and leave. We ended up going to another restaurant and buying another drink, since we didn’t get to finish ours here. We love Gallagher’s but this was a disappointing experience.

We couldn’t have asked for a better evening to celebrate a birthday, but you don’t have to wait for a special occasion to enjoy a fine evening at Gallagher’s Grill. The food and service are second to none, which is saying a lot in south Louisiana. And the relaxed atmosphere creates the perfect environment to be experience a fine meal prepared by a fine and knowledgeable chef, and presented by a friendly, professional staff. We will be back again and again!

Service was excellent but food was not what I’m used to. My favorite entree, Crispy Redfish, was very disappointing. Has been fried too long and fish didn’t seem fresh. The filets were excellent however as was the fried calamari so all was not lost. Yet another restaurant that passes through the transaction fees so that’s always disappointing.

After dining at all three locations, I must say that my husband and I prefer Gallaghers 527 overall. Not only is the food better but so is the service. We had high expectations for the original restaurant and were very disappointed. My steak was cooked perfectly but had no flavor and the sweet potato casserole tasted more like pumpkin pie for some reason. We will continue going to 527 in the future.

As a long time patron who never had a bad experience last night was disappointing. The food overall was very good. Some of the side dishes were average at best. The most disappointing experience was the below average service. Constantly had to request silverware and water refills. Very seldom saw our server. It appears that all the wait staff is new and poorly trained. Not sure what happened as many of the former service staff was top notch and had many years of experience but no longer there

The server, Justin, was exceptional. He didn’t hesitate to return hamburger served rare when request was for medium. Iced teas and water were refilled without reminders. We were originally offered a table next to a noisy service station even though we were among the first guests to arrive and had a reservation. After requesting a quieter setting, we were placed in a corner which was very pleasant. The grilled salmon and catfish entrees were delicious and tastefully presented. Hot bread was brought to the table immediately after we were seated. A very nice touch. Overall, we highly recommend Gallagher’s Grill!

Great lunch spot in Covington! We went with 4 ladies so that we could catch up and we were not rushed. Cocktails were great and food even better.

Everything was outstanding with exception of the noise level! Unfortunately we were seated next to 4 extremely loud people, I realize that was not the restaurants fault, however it did diminish the experience!! Our server was Keith, whom we have had before and he was excellent as usual!!

This is a local restaurant for me but I used Open Table to book the reservation for Easter Brunch. I received the usual Open Table text/email asking me to confirm on Saturday. I also received a phone call from the restaurant on Saturday asking me to confirm that we would be coming. On arrival we were taken to one of the outside tables. We were the ONLY people provided service in this area. This did not make the environment seem like we were out eating a Brunch. I think that the person who called me on Saturday could have alerted us to the fact that we may be eating alone ....or possibly asked me for preferred seating .....or offered an alternative time for dining. Additionally, we arrive the hostess did NOT offer us any options or alert us to the fact that we might be dining ALONE.

This is the best food in the whole area. It's as good as any of the top restaurants in New Orleans. Our server was Jordan, and he was absolutely excellent. Whatever you do, consider getting the crabcakes!

We had the halibut and it was cooked perfect. It had large pieces of crab meat. The service is top notch. I highly recommend.

My husband had the Ribeye and I had the petite filet. Sides were spinach and artichoke, and asparagus. Everything was delicious. Our waiter Keith was so nice and attentive. Joshua was very polite and nice as well. Was my husband’s Birthday dinner. Thanks guys!
