The filet mignon with asparagus was delicious! Even though the first ones brought to our table were overdone, they happily replaced them with properly cooked ones. The crème brûlée was out of this world. The atmosphere was romantic and we loved our quiet table in the corner which overlooked the street below. The perfect evening!

If your looking for fresh food in delicious recipes, this is the place. Everything we had, from the appetizers to the entrees and desserts where outstanding. We had steak, seafood and pasta and all items were outstanding. Service was excellent - not rushed nor slow even though it was busy (Saturday evening). Highly recommended Fried Green Tomatoes in Galena Illinois.

I have eaten at Fried Green Tomatoes for many years- even when they were out on Black Jack Rd. They never disappoint! Dinner here is a must!

Everything was great as usual. My guests were there for the first time. Robin had the walleye and ate every morsel. Pete had to send pictures to his wife and plans to be back soon.

Our server Phil was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. The food came out in a timely manner and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Food was delicious! The salad and bread that come with the entrees was lovely. The bread, warm with Parmesan cheese on top was outstanding. We had chicken piccata and Walleye with brown butter and candied pecans. Both were amazing. The service was equally as wonderful. Dining here is a must.

As always the food and atmosphere was excellent. It appears we had a new young waiter and we had several long waits for him to return. This is very unusual for this restaurant. Hopefully he will improve. I love the Expresso steak.

The blackberry pork loin and spicy seafood pasta were outstanding. The warm, fresh bread is a delicious touch. A $15 corkage fee is very reasonable and the staff, especially our waitress Carly (sp?) were delightful! We would absolutely go back if we’re ever in Galena again.

Nice ambience but the noise level was not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was mushy and swimming in marinara… not worth $17!! Entrees were very good however overpriced for the value. . This is our third time dining here while visiting Galena. We will not be returning to Fried Green Tomatoes.

You never know what you are going to get when you go out to eat in a smaller town. Food was excellent. Great flavor in every dish. Each dish cooked to perfection. Very good wine selection and the best part was our service. Vera was tremendous. Great personality and was on the ball with everything. Would highly recommend dining here. I had the noise level as quiet as we were there on a Tuesday so not very busy but knowing this town that is a rarity.

They only thing better than the food was the incredible service from their entire staff. You must try their namesake appetizer, Fried Green Tomatoes. Not an inexpensive restaurant, but a great choice especially for a special dinner.

We had a reservation for thr 3 of us and were seated right away on time. We started with crab cakes and fried green tomatoes. I had never tried a fried green tomato before and I would not say it was my favorite. The crab cakes were good. The best dish was the chicken marsala. The sauce was delicious! When I head back to Galena I will definitely have to try something else. My friends had a filet and said it was amazing and tender. Great service !

Never been disappointed with service and food. Been regulars every time we’re in town. We even have a favorite server, Madison, that we ask for.

This was our first meal at FGT. We were so happy that we took our servers recommendation to try the signature dish, Fried Green Tomatoes, as they were delicious. The bread and salad were tasty however our main entree's which were the Chilean Sea Bass and also the Scallops dish were absolutely stunning. Tasty and hot. We will definitely be making FGT a "must do" on our return trip to Galena in June.

The food was outstanding. My wife’s steak was grilled to perfection. My Sea Bass was beautifully plated and delicious. The service was friendly yet professional. Wish I didn’t live so far away.

The food and service was wonderful but we were charged extra for using Visa. Because of this we won't be back as we only patronize businesses that accept credit cards without charging for it.

We had the crab cakes to start, the filet and shrimp combo, and the espresso steak. They were all just okay. I wish I would have tried some pasta. The bread and infused oil was delicious. The server was polite and attentive.

We went twice for dinner during our stay, and both experiences were amazing. The food was great and the drinks were delicious both nights. Upstairs or downstairs, you’ll get to feel the true ambiance of the entire restaurant.

The reviews were great so we decided we must check it out! The reviews didn’t lie! Food, service and experience were fabulous! We tried the fried green tomatoes and I was surprised how they were prepared since it was different than I’d ever had before. We loved them!!

The food overall was decent. However, the Fried Green Tomatoes were good except it was like more like eggplant parmesan with a lot of cheese and tomato sauce. The Tomato sauce was good but we didn’t expect that. The Espresso Steak was very good and perfectly cooked. The seafood pasta was not bad, I would stick to the steak if you go here. The bread was very good. The reason for the rating was because the service was terrible. The bus staff kept asking us if we were done when we were clearly still eating. The restaurant was not packed with lines out the door, but we felt very rushed with someone, including the waiter, asking us every few minutes if we were done and if they could clear our table. Also, even though we mentioned a birthday celebration, nothing was done, even though they did something special for a neighboring table. I suppose you have to continuously remind the staff which is awkward. Finally, we asked for salad dressing on the side and even though the waiter wrote it down and acknowledged it, the salads were served with dressing on top. I would not eat here again for the poor service.

We had a lot of lulls in service. We think our waitress may have had a big party in the back. We waited about 15 minutes between end of appetizer and when our salad and bread came. Our waitress came over to table, quickly poured oil on the plates and table, and ran off to get the bread and salad. We just felt like we were forgotten a smidge. Overall, it was a good experience.
