Tried this place out for the first time but the service, ambiance, and food were amazing!! I do think they need to market themselves a little more because the board is hidden underneath the trees. Otherwise, I would’ve tried this place out a lot sooner!!! Love it. Great for family and friends!

The food was delicious and the service prompt. Prices have gone up quite a bit just like at other restaurants so this will be more of a splurge restaurant than a frequent dining destination.

Frank Fat’s is a Sacramento icon and tradition. We brought my parents here to celebrate my mother’s 82nd birthday and everything was perfection! The food was delicious as usual but AAA+ for the banana cream pie! The service is superior, we look forward to returning soon.

I moved out of Sacramento 4 years ago and every time I come back I always try to stop at Frank Fat’s. The food is amazing. The walnut shrimp is my favorite.

Not quite sure why the Bib Gourmand rating was given as this was pretty much normal Chinese food but with cocktails. There was nothing at all wrong but I'm not sure what was so special either.

Our server was amazing and made the food taste better. If I’m being honest the taste was average ! As a first timer the hype of the honey walnut shrimp, and banana cream pie were exponential and upon tasting for myself, I thought the honey walnut shrimp lacked personality/flavor and the banana cream pie tasted frozen. I’m not a huge garnish person, but I do appreciate artwork from the kitchen, I thought the shredded cabbage and raw pieces of cucumber underneath half our appetizers was lack luster considering the price you pay. Our server recommended her favorite tea, which was a Blood Orange and it tasted wonderful.

It was a busy night but we were sat in a booth towards the back. Our waiter was friendly and took care of us quickly. Food was hot and great. Banana cream pie was delicious ( like usual). Manager stopped by and asked how everything was so we felt like we were welcomed being there. We will return soon.

Ye was a wonderful waiter. The food was delicious! It has been a long time since we ate out and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Thank you Frank Fat’s for a terrific experience! This was the perfect place to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

Such a bummer! They served our appetizer in probably a couple minutes after we ordered- super fast as if it was already done, we had not even finished our appetizer when they served us our meal. Just a super quick here you go and get out. Food was not that great this time around.

Right before a Kings game it was busy but the kitchen was fairly fast and things moved along well, the pan fried chow fun beef was delicious and we killed it. Honey walnut shrimp was the best and perfectly cooked-almost candied with a crunch in the first bite and then the prawns burst on your palette. So good!

Frank Fats never disappoints. Quality food and the always perfectly cooked New York Steak smothered in onions is a family favorite. And can never not have the banana cream pie no matter how full I am. Love this restaurant.

I have been here for our family events for over 30 years. This time we were very cramped and in loud dinning room. We went for my wife’s birthday and there were 4 of us. We were over dressed with dresses and slacks. In the dining room was jeans, sandals, baseball hats sunglasses and t-shirts. I was very loud. We could not have a conversation with our table only 24” away from fellow dinners. I would have hoped that when I noted my wife’s birthday in the reservation, they might have put us somewhere where we could celebrate and have a conversation. I will not be back.

Last night was our first time here, and it exceeded expectations. I always heard it was a good place to eat, but we really enjoyed it a lot. The food was great and the atmosphere was really nice. The staff were all very friendly. We ordered a lot and ate everything. Didn’t feel heavy or bloated at all. I am looking forward to our next visit already!

This is the OG of downtown history and food. The brandy chicken, walnut shrimp and pot stickers were hot and delicious. The amazing cocktail list and banana cream pie are fabulous. Ken the general manager and our server were amazing.
