Le Francesca's on Chestnut est membre du Francesca's Restaurant Group. Situé dans les Seneca Boutique Apartments, le restaurant de 180 places sert sa célèbre cuisine italienne rustique. Le chef, Martin Ontiveros, mène la cuisine et propose les mets classiques épicés du Francesca's, une cuisine du terroir de Rome et des régions avoisinantes de la Toscane. La carte des vins et cocktails spéciaux est toute aussi impressionnante dans cet endroit unique disposant d'un bar à vin caché. Le DiSotto Enoteca se trouve dans le sous-sol de l'établissement. Le Francesca’s Restaurant Group a été fondé en 1992 par le restaurateur Scott Harris. Tout a commencé dans un petit restaurant italien situé sur North Clark Street à Chicago, puis le savoir-faire s’est développé à travers trois concepts de restaurants situés dans 33 emplacements à travers quatre états. I have dined at Francescas in the suburbs many times and have always had a great experience. Howver the visit to Francescas on Chestnut did not live up to all of my other visits. While the food was delicious as always, we did not recieve what we ordered. The salad ordered was not what was delivered. The person delivering the salad argued that it was correct even after showing him the specials of the day menu. The waiter attempted to bring the missing ingredients but the figs never arrived and candied pecans, which I can’t eat, did. The pan seared pork tenderloin ordered arrived as a pork chop. No correction was available so my husband had to eat the pork chop. Which was very good but not what ordered. I am not sure if the issues were driven by the waiter or the kitchen but either way, the corrections were not made or apologized for. I will return to Francescas, but not this location.

Mother's Day buffet brunch. Very good pork loin, cod fish and other selections. Dessert bar very good as well. However, for the price some Italian bread and coffee would have been nice

We dined at Francesca’s for my daughter’s 23rd birthday. The food and service were great. We received a complimentary dessert for her birthday. It was a wonderful night!

We tried two new entrees from the specials menu this time: the Pizza Mio Modo was a sausage and arugula pie with a sharp, bright flavor, while the Fettucini Carbonara was rich and decadent. We'll order either or both again any time. Service was, as usual, right on top of things (the waiter explained the carbonara for us in helpful detail) and the rest of the staff was cheerful and attentive. All stars all arund!

Eight family members came together in Chicago for a wedding. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time so we met at Francesca’s for dinner to catch up. We told the restaurant staff about our family reunion and they put us at a round table in the corner of the restaurant - perfect setting! We could all see each other and it was quieter for our conversations. The server was attentive and quick. The food was delicious. Everyone was happy with their meals. The portions are large so no-one went hungry and the prices were reasonable. A great time was had by all. I Highly recommend this restaurant!

The cocktails were all ice cubes and very little alcohol. Very expensive for what you got. Felt like they were trying to fool you with all the ice cubes.

Francesca’s on Chestnut is a personal favorite of so many people I was excited to try it. I had a wonderful time with my out of town visitors who had it on their short list. The restaurant had a few struggles with us: entirely incorrect salad order for one of us, long delay on the proper one but by then she didn’t want it, my beet salad came out without all the promised ingredients and was underwhelming. Our entrees were fine. Management made up for the errors with free profiteroles (pastry part needed a knife though the dessert only came with a spoon) and they were tasty. It was a busy night and they did not rush us out which we really appreciated. We did get through almost 2 bottles of wine. Will give them another try.

My wife and I enjoy this hidden gem, kind of off the main path. Excellent food with wonderful service and good value. Their salads are unique but very tasty as are their pasta preparations. We will back in future trips to the Windy City.

Francesca's used to be a good choice to dine but my recent experience gives me pause of future visits. Pricing was outrageous, pork and chicken dishes were overly salty, and the seafood pasta sauce was something I would find in anyone's pantry. When I asked one of my guest her thoughts on her dish "it's chicken" was her response. We took her leftover chicken and tasted it - the salt content must have been the reason she barely ate the dish- it was inedible. In years past, Francesca's food was delicious and flawless. I won't be returning.

I don’t know how this place got so many 5 star reviews. It was one of the worst Italian restaurants I have ever been to - I ordered a rock shrimp lemon fettuccini with what seemed like at most 2 shrimp cut into tiny pieces with the blandest flavored pasta sprinkled in breadcrumbs. Terrible. Don’t waste your time or money.

The food was pretty good and the place was pleasant enough, but the service was really aggressive and annoying. Everything came out super quick; the waiters hovering over our table and clearing our plates before we even finished; They emptied out the bottle of wine before we even finished our first glass.

Sitting at our favorite table, we ordered the pizza from the Specials Menu and the Fettucine Limone e Gamberi from the regular menu, and found both special, as is regular here. Service was tiptop and friendly, and everyone seemed happy to see us again from the time we entered until we left, having enjoyed another Saturday night feast. All stars all around!

It is one our favorites when we are in town. Our waiter was amazing. When he realized it was my birthday he brought a special dessert and two glasses of dessert liquor to enjoy on the house. It was a great night.

The service was a little odd, felt judged the whole time I was there. The food was nothing like what we were expecting. The food came out in less than 5 minutes, was cold, and watery. Lacked flavor completely. Paid $25+ for pasta and would rate my experience very low.

John was our server and did wonderfully. The noise went from zero to deafening as the house filled.

Food is great, tasteful and normal portions (not those huge “American style” ones), which is nice and avoids food waste. Waiter Mauricio was great, super helpful and knew about all the plates, good recommendations! A bit noisy as the tables are very close to each other.

We're regulars at Francesca's on Chestnut. The food preparation is consistently good. All of the staff is great but Sergio is our favorite waiter. Thank you for being in our neighborhood.

Francesca's is one of our favorite restaurants in Chicago. Delicious Pollo francese, sauteed spinach, fettucine limone e gamberi, profiroles, and chocolate torte this visit! However, I will say that I resent having to pay the service charge on top of the higher prices now on the menu and on top of Chicago's already high tax on restaurant food. I don't understand why Francesca's feels the need to add the service charge when they now charge quite a bit more for the same things that were much less just 1-2 years ago.

Anoother diner near us came to ask what we were eating, and we were glad to tell him. We had one old favorite and one dish off the Specials Menu, and thus added a new old favorite to our list. Service was friendly and fast, with beverage refills just when we needed them. Another excellent evening from entrance to exit: all stars all round!
