Strawberry pancakes were great. The brunch menu is a bit limited. The atmosphere is very casual. No trouble finding parking nearby. The service was perfect.

Outstanding service at the table, and we very much appreciate being seated outdoors after seeing how loud and crowded it was inside the main restaurant. Food was imaginative and the ingredients fresh, somewhat evocative of Suis Generis in New Orleans. Not all of the dishes landed as excellent, but we're pretty game to try new stuff and the creativity and effort going into each dish could be seen and experienced. Dessert ice creams selections mimicked the entrees -- no fear to be seen when it comes to F&D's innovation-seeking DNA. A big shout out to the wine list, which is very broad and has tons of unfamiliar labels. (The Bloodroot Pinot Noir is a major winner and highly recommended. Not such a fan of Captain Bojol's Beaujolais -- but it IS there for the trying and we have no regrets.) Recommended if you're tired of the same-ol' Austin BBQ scene.

Food, drinks, and service was great! Outdoor seating had lots of flies and mosquitoes. Would’ve loved to see some repellers out there. Great otherwise!

Great experience for Mothers Day brunch. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was super friendly even if a little slow. Would recommend!

I made a reservation for 4 at the bar, knowing that there was no way we would be able to converse with our friends. The young redhead host who holds his head and gives eye contact like Princess Diana(a compliment, they’re absolutely gorgeous), was able to get us seated at a table for 4 with a minimal wait. The food was OUTSTANDING! Our server had dark, tousled, short hair right out of a Ralph Lauren ad, knew the menu and wine list inside and out. He was brilliant. The popovers, the gnocchi, the strawberry salad, the short rib Campanelli, the goat shank, and the fish were spectacular. And the wine pairings were perfection. We used to live 2 blocks away when the restaurant was being built out. And we dined there the first week the restaurant was open. Although Ned is gone, and the concept has changed, one thing remains the same. The commitment to serving the finest food, the quirky and lovely service and the festive ambience. Our friends from San Diego had looked at the menu before hand, never having eaten here before. Their expectations were exceeded. They make it to Austin once a year, and F&D is on their permanent rotation from now on. Thank you for letting me run back in while you were closing. It didn’t hit me until I got to our car that I had to use the facilities. This has always been one of the best restaurants in the City, but the bar has now been raised. Bravo to the new owners. P.S. The trim woman who took our drink orders should be a stand up. She’s charming and hilarious! It had been a minute since we’ve eaten there, because after the lockdown our dining out habits changed. But F&D is back on our regular rotation! Thank you all preparing the cuisine, and the entire staff. All expectations truly were exceeded.

The food was lovely, but the service was somewhat off. Overall the servers were friendly, and we were asked to order everything at once to ensure the kitchen could course out our meal appropriately. But we were often waiting a long time between courses and entrees did not come out at the same time, leaving some people waiting while food got cold. There was also an issue with flies, which was somewhat offputting.

Foreign and Domestic is always a hit, their goat shank was excellent with japanese plum flavors and cavatelli also amazing.
