We have been going to Fior for many years. It is the perfect traditional Italian restaurant that we love: big long bar with locals and tourists talking and laughing, tv with a sport show, longtime staff who are wonderful and remember us each time we come and…the food is better over the years. We’ve had large dinners here, up to 19 people.

Been away from the Bay for a few years but seems like the food quality has gone down. Ordered the barata and got a lump of cheese surrounded by some tomatoes the a bit of balsamic poured on top. Hardly any greens to speak. Pasta was just ok. A band played but was too loud for the room and came to each table asking for tips. Just not my preference I guess

I went with a group of friends to hear a friend play with a jazz band. The band was great , probably not if you want to have a quiet lunch but wonderful lively music. The food was top notch and service was very good. We all had a marvelous time.

Fabulous food. Highly recommend the Osso Buco, Scallopini, Veal picata, and lasagna. Bread is awesome with the Colavita olive oil. Escargot was yummy. Must dip the bread into the garlicky broth. Service was good. Old photos on the wall are worth the trip down memory lane. Such a great experience.

Very nice Historic Restaurant. Very welcoming staff. Subtle live music for background ambiance. Our food was outstanding and timely. Overall experience was well worth the price. We will definitely be back on our next visit to San Francisco!

I was there for a special tribute event - so the place was lively, the band was loud (and excellent) - many musicians sat in, singers sang - all in tribute to a musician who played there for years with the band .. and who recently passed. So I can't say much about the restaurant on a normal evening.

First customers in the door for Saturday lunch, so super quiet was perfect for our group chat, very different than my lively and exciting dinner experience there. Food and wine were great as before and staff was very friendly and attentive. Seems safe to say they maintain high standards regardless of the seating.

food was great, service was unfortunately subpar… there were only five tables seated in the restaurant at the time, about four or five staff members up and about, but it took 15 minutes after being seated to even be acknowledged, then another 10 minutes after water dropped off, and another 15 minutes to have orders placed… restaurant a bit old and could use some fixing up, but didn’t bother me THAT much considering it’s been around for so long.

Quiet/safe neighborhood. Lovely atmosphere. Live piano music. Stellar cocktails. The staff is beyond friendly and makes you feel like family! Generous portions of fresh pasta. Best Italian food in SF!

So glad we found this truly authentic Italian restaurant! It was just what we were looking for, reminded me of the local Italian places in New Jersey. A number of the staff were from Italy, very friendly and good service. A small bar area at the entrance seemed to attract a fun local crowd. Booths are a bit worn, but cozy in a good way. Wine list with very reasonable priced options. House chianti was perfect. Caesar salad was solid, but the lettuce was not as fresh as we hoped, though coated just right with the dressing and parm, no anchovy which I love, but I know most do not. The menu has a section for handmade pasta and a section for dry pasta. I had the handmade fettuccine with bolognese and it didn't disappoint. Really tasty, cooked well and good balance of noodle and sauce. Hubby had linguine with meatballs and loved it. Oh, and the bread was so good, crusty outside soft inside and good flavor. The tiramisu was a mouse-based version which I really liked, not as heavy and a great ending to the meal.

What a perfect dining experience. Of course, dining here is never anything but spectacular. Our family enjoyed house-made pastas, perfectly prepared rabbit and veal, and beautiful wines. Service was first rate, as always. We don't live in San Francisco, but we get here as often as we can.

Great North Beach restaurant. The host/manager was attentive, enjoyed the live music, and food was good. The lack of service from the wait staff was disappointing- we had to ask/find someone take our order as well as second round of drinks. Water service was great, the plus side.

I can’t praise this place enough! Lalo the general manager is absolutely amazing. He’s so attentive and so kind. My daughter left her gold bracelet on the table and he imminently had the staff looking for it. And they found it. The wait staff is so friendly and courteous. Israel took such great care of us. We had a lovely time. So grateful for this place. The food is delicious!

It’s nice to know you can occasionally go home again and find that something you didn’t want to change has not. From appetizers to pasta everything we sampled was an oh my. Possibly the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. Their take on escargot in a veal stock had me a little concerned but when I took the first bite my taste buds celebrated my decision to order them. Calamari was outstanding. Service was totally on point and the old school vibe takes you back to the great days of a bygone era in San Francisco’s rich history. I rate this restaurant as a must return as soon as possible and our party of 4 agreed unanimously.

Nicely executed classic italian fare. Great service. On a quiet street separated from all the North Beach bustle. 1 salad, 1 pasta, 1 chicken main, and 1 dessert fed 2 on a tab of about $80 plus tip.

We keep returning to Fior D'Italia because they never disappoint us. The food is consistently excellent and the service is always cordial, efficient and well-paced. The neighborhood in North Beach is a favorite haunt and we never have any problems finding nearby parking. We have been coming to the restaurant for decades.

Hadn’t been to the Fior in a long time. The service was attentive and very competent. The Caesar salad was delicious and all others at our table enjoyed their meals. The guy on keyboard was value added. Will return soon.
