Another great meal at fathoms. The raw bar was great, and the entrées were perfect. The Ahi tuna was also excellent. It was also nice to see that they’ve opened up a seafood store in the same building, right next to the restaurant. It’s their source for a lot of the seafood they use in the restaurant and it’s great that you can pick it up there on the way home. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful seafood lunch. I had the scallop and cod casserole and my husband had the grilled swordfish. Both were outstanding. Even the veggies, asparagus and broccoli were delicious. Great music playing. Nice interior.

Our party had the calamari as an appetizer and it was melt in your mouth delicious!! Not chewy and cooked perfectly! For entrees, we had the Haddock Mozambique which was amazing, the fries Fleet Scallops which were so juicy and sweet and the grilled Swordfish which was tender and juicy. Our server was attentive and kind. Always a great time at Fathom’s!

Another great meal at Fathom’s. The raw oysters and clams seemed like they were freshly removed from the ocean and were flavorful. The ahi tuna was prepared perfectly and was a true testament of exquisite cuisine. Entrées included the lobster roll and chicken pesto. Both were good. You’re definitely not disappointed with anything that is on the menu. Highly recommended.

Since I am a New Bedford resident, I have an opportunity to choose many quality seafood restaurants. By far, my favorite place is Fathoms. Now that they have added a store selling fresh seafood, I will be spending even more time there.

We head out to New Bedford every few months and found this place almost a year ago. We look forward to grabbing a bite to eat and beverages when we're in the area. The food is always fresh, the drinks and specials are always great, plus it is reasonably priced. Plus the restaurant is on an inlet with a swing bridge, and when vessels need to enter / exit the bridge turns 90 degrees to let them through. It is always impressive to see it in action. So if you're in the area, this is a cool place to go.

great seafood and good prices compared to other local restaurants that serve seafood. Chowder is one of the best . A bit noisy and the small tables for 2 are not a favorite to be seated on. Looking forward to outdoor dining soon.

My wife and I sat at the bar for dinner. First of all we sat close to the hostess area. For some strange reason the owner decided to remove the entry door to the restaurant. Every time that someone entered the outside door we got a cold wave. Everyone around us was complaining to the staff. As for the food. I ordered the 16oz prime rib cooked medium. Let’s just say that I needed a skill saw to cut it. My wife got a chicken dish and her chicken could have been cooked a little longer. We love Fathoms but they need to get it together.

Food was very good, always is. Very dark atmosphere, music was all base sounding, not easy on the ears. The restaurant is extremely noisy. Wish they would do something to absorb all the noise, but when the bar area takes up that much space it’s going to be very noisy. Waitress didn’t check in with us until we pushed our plates aside.

Wicked fast service. Less than 10 minutes from placing order with server to table - which also included our alcohol drink order. We ordered a Lobster roll and fried clams and both were fresh. We were in and out in less than an hour!

The scallops were fabulous & the seafood could not be any fresher. Our waitress was very pleasant & helpful. The atmosphere was a bit disappointing with crowded seating for a table of 6 in the loud bar area.

We are regular at this establishment. I usually stick to my favorites but decided to try something new so I ordered the combo dinner which consisted of a few small fried pieces of fish and a few scallops. Not worth the price and the scallops didn't look like scallops. The chowder is one of the best and I often order it when I have dinner here.

The background music was way too loud. The waitress was wonderful. The food great as usual. We had to yell at each other to carry on a conversation. I have a relative that has hearing aids and I won’t be able to bring him here. It’s still one of my favorite restaurants. The food always excellent.

Another delicious find in the New Bedford area! We took our son out for lunch (he attends Umass Dartmouth). Easy drive, and on an island (note, there is a bridge to get here, coming from Dartmouth, the bridge was closed for a few minutes to allow a boat to pass, pretty cool). The location is unassuming, on the water but in the fishing boat area. Awesome glass bar, nice ambience. I am sure it is 5 stars in the summer when the deck is open. The food was wonderful, perfectly cooked scallops in the pesto pasta dish, bountiful shrimp scampi. Yummy chocolate lava cake. We did not have cocktails but certainly will when we return during warmer weather. Service was attentive. Only ‘complaint’? The food came out too fast! Not a problem, but would liked to hang out a bit longer. Restaurant was quiet, not many diners, probably because it’s the off season. Looking forward to our next visit!

Very good food and drinks. Staff is very friendly and the bar is something to see! This is a very nice place to dine at and I would recommend if you haven’t gone to least experience it for yourself.
