La salle à manger du Ernest au NAIT a été décrite avec justesse comme étant le « joyau de la couronne » du Centre Hokanson pour les arts culinaires à la School of Skilled Trades. La décoration du Ernest est qualifiée d'« élégance discrète ». Parking Passes must be requested 48 hours in advance by emailing twright@nait.ca for DAY parking. Parking is FREE after 5pm in Lot "C". Once all the DAY parking passes are reserved you will have to pay to park. We have a surface lot available to our guests at lot C directly across from the dining room entrance on 117th Avenue. Parking is at a premium during the day, so we do advise an early arrival.

Animation
During the school year Ernest's is a venue for a variety of "special events" allowing students to demonstrate creativity while interacting with the community. The Toque Demagny Scholarship Dinner, Young Culinarians Conquering Cancer, Team NAIT and Le club Culinaire fundraisers provide students with the opportunity to challenge their personal and professional bests.We also feature Saturday night wine dinners featuring regional wines paired to perfection with our students culinary creations.

Such a great adventure. The culinary arts students who do all the food prep are proud, excited and enthusiastic about their efforts. And the results show. The servers are also great. It's so interesting to speak with them about their future plans after graduation, and to hear of their current passion for the program.

Had a wonderful anniversary lunch here because they were fully booked for dinner reservations. I actually forgot that I mentioned it was our anniversary so we were surprised to get to our table and find a complimentary card, bottle of prosecco, mini box of handmade chocolates (3) and a free Ernests Chef's Apron! Such a lovely touch and above and beyond what anyone else does these days for special occasions. Our lunch was delicious and we were treated like royalty. My only wish is that we could attend this restaurant year round! These culinary students are top notch! Bravo!

All staff were very friendly and attentive to their tasks when providing service to the patrons. Daria, our server was well informed regarding items on the menu and was delightful while she was working. The food was artistically presented and all items ordered were delicious, as expressed by all four of us at our table. Well done! We will be back again soon.

My sister and brother-in-law both had the Arctic char and I had the short ribs. Delicious! Ashe was our server and she was very good!

We visited Ernest’s for dinner and each ordered three courses off the a la carte menu. We enjoyed the amuse bouche as well as the palate cleanser in between courses. One of our favourite items was the cheese cracker included in the bread basket. All of the food came out beautifully presented. The fish dish was a little underdone however once notified the kitchen cooked it to perfection and served it with some new sides. Service was a little slow at times however we realize that the students are working hard and learning each day so it wasn’t a big deal. Portions are a good size and priced well. Overall a nice dining experience!

This was a great night out. The food was excellent. Complements to the chef(s). Also to the dessert chef. We were a table of four, each chose a different dessert and each enjoyed. We will definitely will book another night out.

This was a great experience! As a person who loves to try new foods and flavors I relished the differences and contrasts in every bite! And, it was not as expensive as I had expected. We will definitely be going back next spring

As a former NAIT student myself, I was very impressed with the level of sophistication throughout the night. From the first greeting right until the end, everything was just so. Although some of the flavours were beyond the scope of my palette, I thoroughly appreciated the creativity, innovation and genuine talent of these new Chefs. We'll definitely be visiting again soon.

We visited Ernest's for dinner after many months. The restaurant wasn't full, but the dining room had the same simple, but inviting vibe. Our server was friendly and professional in explaining the dinner and drink options. The mocktail and the old fashioned tasted the way they should, and our appetizers (salmon tartare and smashed cucumber smeared with skyr and fresh vegetables) delectable. The mains arrived shortly after our palette cleansing sorbetto. We both had the flank steak with steamed broccoli and other veggies, and a peppercorn sauce which was fantastic. We finished our meal with a dark chocolate gateaux that was not too sweet and fresh. All in all another fantastically satisfying meal at Ernest's, a place that we are going to miss when we leave Edmonton next month.

Service was a bit clumsy but they tried hard. Food was creative but they didn't pull it all off. Prices were fair. Will definitely try again. Maybe dinner instead of lunch.

The student-staff were excellent! We took the set menu, and the pastry students also showed us the dessert options on a cart and described them to us. We also got a rose because it was Valentine's Day weekend. This was the best value dinner we have ever had.

A "perfect" evening. From the dining room to service to the fabulous food. Presentations were impressive as well. Terrific staff. We also loved the desert cart. I would certainly recommend this gem to anyone. Can't beat the price for 5-star dining.

Everything was lovely! The food was so well seasoned, and perfect! The desert cart was such a wonderful touch! I loved talking with the pastry student. Our server Cindy was lovely. Informative, attentive, and kind! 🖤 I would go here every week if I could! 🖤

Was a great evening at Ernests. Great service and the salmon I ordered was cooked to perfection. Took some first time visitors from out of town and they were very impressed.

Wonderful dinner. Our server Tron was excellent. There was a rose waiting for me on the table and the dessert cart with all the goodies made it tough to choose. Also the wine selection and price just can’t be beat. See you next time

Great lunch at Ernest’s. The service was good and the food was awesome. Really good value. My only complaint would be having to pay $12.50 to park (evening parking is free). We also had to drive around a few times to get a spot.

Our group of 4 colleagues were newbies at this diner. We had lunch, we all happened to order different foods and everyone was more than pleased with their selections. The staff all around were very friendly and pleasant. Can't wait to go back and try other items!!!!

We are 4 former NAIT employees who celebrated our birthdays and friendship with lunch at Ernest’s. Everything we ordered was top notch…well presented and wonderful tasting. The service was very attentive and patient. We especially liked the music quietly playing in the background, enabling us to talk and enjoy our meal. So often we have to ask for the volume to be lowered but Ernest’s understands the whole point of enjoying a meal is not just the food but the conversation. It was a special experience that we would recommend to anyone.

Everything was delicious - the mushroom soup was unforgettable. The staff were very attentive. Drink + appetizer + entree + dessert + tax + gratuity = only $60 per person. Ernest’s is one of our favorite spots to celebrate!

Ernest’s was a wonderful experience for a dinner date. The staff were extremely friendly, and catered to our dietary restrictions with professionalism. Their food was both beautiful and delicious.

Fantastic!!! Great food, great service, great value! I don't need much more than that. The students are working hard and trying their best to ensure you have a great meal. They went above and beyond for our anniversary dinner and all I had to do was note that it was our anniversary when I made my reso on line. Will definitely be back.
