Love this place - the food is fantastic, the service is prompt, and the staff is friendly. It's a great place to meet up with friends for a pint, watch a game, have dinner - highly recommended.

Friendly vibe from the door where we came in out of the rain to the end of the bar where there tables for two were arranged to suit our part of 7. The servings were sizable and tasty. Just don't bother looking for nearby parking: its Boston.

Saturday night of Marathon weekend, every restaurant and bar in Boston is going to be crowded and boisterous, and Emmet’s is no exception. The food (fish & chips, fried pickles, ham & cheese toastie, and the best Caesar salad I’ve had in years) was delicious! The live fiddle was lovely, even if I did think the overall environment was too loud (mostly the crowd), but that was a given for the time we were there. I’ll definitely keep them on my list of “close enough to the theater” venues.

I had high hopes based on the reviews and pictures, but ultimately was disappointed. The place looks great and the food was ok, but two main complaints: 1) the service was glacially slow. After coming to the table to take and deliver the apps order, the first waitress vanished; it was at least 15-20 minutes until a second waitress showed up to take our drinks and meals order. She was more attentive than the first waitress. 2) the live music was too damn loud. It was just a guy doing acoustic stuff, but the speakers were cranked to 11 and it was impossible to have a conversation. When he took his break, the radio was at a reasonable level and it was much better, but when he came back it was back to 11. Overall ok but not much to distinguish it from any other Irish Pub in Boston.

We booked in open table and they didn’t have a table for us. We waited 30 minutes. After we were seated, we got our drinks and ordered. Took 70 minutes to be served. One guest’s dish arrived luke warm. Not the best experience. We can last year and everything was great. This year, not so much.
