For over 20 years, The Emerald Rose has set the standard for a rustic Irish Restaurant and Pub in the relaxed suburbs of Boston. Food was really good but the service was unsatisfactory. The server would be super nice to the tables around us but every once in a while when she came to our table she looked miserable and always took forever to get us our food. I wasn’t the only one who noticed her weird attitude towards us, my husband and my friend felt the same way.

It was very congested and loud in the dining room. Could not hear conversations at the table.

Good food, great service but extremely noisy. Very difficult to converse without yelling. However, that's to be expected for St Patrick's Day!

We have been coming here since they opened, and the corned beef has been amazing. Tonight we had trouble eating it. It was stringy, chewy, and overly salty. I had the Reuben and had trouble biting into the sandwich. I switched to a steak knife and fork and still had a bit of trouble with cutting it. My wife had the corned beef and cabbage and said it was too salty to eat.

Service was great, drinks were great and on the strong side. Our lobster bisque was delicious. It all went down hill when the beef Wellington hit the table. It was not a tenderloin cut it was either brisket or pot roast. It was over cooked and nothing I would compare to a normal Wellington. I was told it was their version on beef Wellington. Well at $46 it was far from worth it. Very disappointing and because of that it dragged my review down

The food is outstanding however, our server was not. We still had a nice meal but the waitress had little to no experience. Ex. filling up just my water instead of everyone's. No greeting just immediately asked what we wanted to drink. Seemed very young and inexperienced, needs some training for those prices.

Very good meal, Emerald Rose good is very good too large even for 2 people, burgers and mash was excellent, and lobster roll was good with a little too much mayo. Server was very attentive.

We had a 7PM reservation for 2 on a Saturday evening and we were seated right away in the dining room. The dining room was not full. We can't say enough good things about how great our server was! Very attentive and had great suggestions. I was able to order a couple of alcoholic beverages which were not on the cocktail menu - Truly on tap and mint chocolate martini. Assorted breads and whipped butter was brought to the table before dinner. It was so delicious that we asked if we could bring home what we didn't eat and the waiter brought back a takeout box filled with the bread and a cup of butter. I ordered the Chicken cordon bleu and was able to substitute an additional vegetable rather than rice. My husband order the Shepherd's Pie which the waiter said was 1 of the most popular menu items. Good sized portions. We could hear live music from the bar but it did not interfere with our conversation. Great casual night out!

My wife and I both had the fish and chips, he also had clam chowder. Fish and chips was delicious, the fries were a little undercooked. Clam chowder was also delicious however, it seemed quite thick. Overall, it was a good dining experience, be honest, we’ve been there before, and had good meals.

Hubby's haddock with risotto was delicious, as was my pork shank with risotto. We were there at 6:30 and food didn't arrive until 7:00...not a big deal but would have moved the reservation to 6:00 had I known. Waitress gave us the check without asking if we wanted dessert and didn't drop by so we could tell her we did want to see the menu, so we ended up going home and having brownies there. She'll learn, hopefully. That was a bigger tip, lost. Food is always good and we'll return, but be more careful about timing.

Just regular pub food nothing out of the ordinary. Frankly doesn’t at all look like an Irish restaurant. Atmosphere was so-so. They sat us at a table that was ultimately directly in front of the band. Would have been nice if they made us aware of that fact. Won’t go back.

Our waitress was excellent. Efficient. Personable. I wish I could remember her name. We were there Friday for lunch. The food was also outstanding. Four of us had four different meals and thoroughly enjoyed them.

The server was atrocious, not attentive and no knowledge of the menu. She didn't even know what kinds of vodka the bar had. And, no bread was brought to us until we ordered food after the first round of drinks. Lazy service. Food took a while to arrive, was ok but pricey. Even the drinks weren't that good, although prices were fair.

I found the restaurant very inviting. My food was delicious but my friends was cold. The waitress did take the meat back to be heated but I felt the plate should’ve been replaced. Our service was excellent ! We’ll definitely return!

I'm an occasional diner at the Emerald Rose. The people are accommodating, and the food is good. It's a very nice place to go. They have a Brunch menu on Sundae, But I'd prefer the regular menu, but my party prefers to come during the brunch times.
