    The experience left me longing for more from start to finish. To start, I noticed every table around me with bread of which I was never offered. As an appetizer I ordered the artichoke. While the flavor was tasty, the dish was overall inedible. The artichokes were fibrous, hard, and left with the sharp edges that were not trimmed off. Unsure how this item got approved to be on the menu. As for the main. Bone in ribeye with fois grois butter and sprouts and au gratin potatoes as sides. My steak arrived ice cold and 10+ plus minutes passed before I could flag down my waiter who did not check on me after the food arrived. Once the steak was reheated it was tasty but over cooked at this point. Sides were delicious, one of the few things at Elway’s that lived up to expectations. The prices at Elway’s exceed top New York City steakhouses while matching a fraction of the quality. Save your money and go somewhere else. Don’t fall for the name, very disappointed.

    We went for lunch and the service was great to begin with but nothing after food was delivered. Had to flag our waiter down to get the check -- it then took him 10 minutes to run the card. Smashburger was very good. Fruit in the fruit cup was no ripe and flavorless. Steak salad was DRENCHED in dressing -- the steak was good but couldn't taste anything else because of the dressing. Probably should have sent it back, but no waiter around.

    My wife and I are light eaters these days, so we usually agree on something to split. Because the food portions are so generous, Elway's is the perfect place for us. Here goes. (0-5 stars) GRILLED ARTICHOKE APPETIZER --0 STARS Pretty awful -- do not order this, especially if you like artichokes. Can you imagine serving diners an artichoke without a heart? The kitchen cut the poor thing above the choke, so all we got to split was two halves of a small artichoke, nothing more than a bunch of charred, spiced leaves...for $19 !! Do not order this! I complained to the waited about it, and then to a host-type person who wandered among the tables, and they each shrugged. Do NOT order this failed recipe! RACK OF LAMB -- 5 STARS We split the rack, which was crusted with French-style mustard, ordered medium rare. This was a righteous portion of perfectly-cooked lamb, which we pronounced as delicious. We took about about a third of it back to our hotel and, with the sides, had a smaller fine meal the next day. AU GRATIN POTATOES -- 5 STARS As good as I ever had, and nearly enough for four people to share. It traveled well. CREAMED SPINACH -- 5 STARS We could not fault this huge portion of this creamy, slightly cheesy side dish. More than enough for four people, it also traveled well. CREME BRULEE -- 5 STARS Prepared as a vanilla creme version topped with fresh berries, this was the best creme brulee I ever had. WINE -- I was happy with my red blend and my wife enjoyed her petite syrah, which is ordered by the ounce. BREAD & BUTTER -- 1 STAR. Perhaps it was foolish of me to expect a crusty batard of French bread with whipped, unsalted butter. Instead, we were served strange (to me) tasting rolls and sweetened, flavored whipped butter. I stopped at after the first bite. There were also two slices of a white bread that I picked at. SERVICE -- 5 STARS Attentive, friendly, and efficient. But they shouldn't have shrugged off my feedback on the artichoke. Don't order it!

    I went on my prom night with my boyfriend hoping for a good dinner. I sat there for about 20 minutes just for our waiter to come give us water. Our waitress was very rude. We had to get up and ask for bread and water a couple different times because our waitress never came to our table. We were treated very differently from the rest of the people because of our age. When our good finally came out all our food was completely charred and we were already late to prom so we couldn’t ask for new food. In addition to that the fire alarm went off for about 30 minutes of our dining experience we watched as every other waiter went to there tables and told the costumers what was happening, except for our waitress. It's unfortunate. We've had a couple good experiences there before while with my family. We never have had a bad experience before, but we've only ever eaten at the 1 in Cherry Creek. This was our first time downtown. As we are huge, bronco fans, and Elway fans so this was very disappointing.

    I reserved a table for dinner for 6 of my coworkers who were coming from out of town. I was very disappointed in the experience at Elways. They put us back in a corner, the server was extremely slow and inattentive, and the dinner took three hours when the restaurant wasn’t busy. I had to ask for water multiple times and it still took 15+ minutes for the server to fill our glasses. My colleagues and I were very disappointed. This is not the Elway’s experience I have had before. Not worth the money if this is how we will be treated.

    Out experience at this restaurant was okay. For it being a five star restaurant I had high hopes and expectations. First off, our food was considerably delayed. We had tickets for a Broadway show and only had ten minutes to eat our entrees. The waiter took off the appetizer and wine from our check which was nice but we still didn’t get to enjoy our dinner the way we wanted. There needs to be more training for the waiters. I noticed at the table next to us there were three women and a man…the server passed the menu to the male first. The dirty plates form the appetizer sat in front of me for a long time time before they bother to remove it. We were not able to enjoy our meal because of the stress of how late everything was.

    The food was great. Server Alex is delightful. The bar gets packed and is fun for happy hour but not so fun for dinner guests. It was so loud we could barely hear each other talking at our table.

    The menu, food & service re: our dinner for three were excellent. The only negative, which we experienced at a previous visit (and avoided this time by parking on the street) was a fee for parking of $26 at that time. Given the expense of dinner at Elway’s we were shocked that the hotel in which the restaurant is located doesn’t provide free or a heavily reduced parking option (we assumed the policy hadn’t changed since our previous experience).

    It is was really delicious. My friend and I got the oysters as an appetizer. Then we both had the halibut. It was so delicious that we finished our entire meal!. I personally think it's expensive but it's worth it for the food and the service was amazing! I didn't expect it to be as much as it was. Perfect for a date night or Anniversary! We are there before going to see Matt Rife.

    Went out for steaks with my husband, we both got steaks. The steaks came out and my husband's steak seemed fine but mine was completely burnt. My husband said we should let the server know and he blew it off as caramelized while it was bitter. Didn't even look at it. To his credit, he did say I could get one without sugar on it but I felt he wasn't giving the situation the validity it deserved. To get past the burnt taste, I thought dousing it in A1 would help but it did not. Sides were good but my husband and I felt this was handled very poorly.

    I had the 6 oz filet and my wife had the Elway’s Salmon. She said it was the best salmon she has ever had and that includes the fact we spent last summer in Alaska! My filet was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. The service was top notch! This is our go to place for special occasions!

    We have dined at this location multiple times. Some things with the food have changed and our food was subpar and our steaks were undercooked.

    We have been Elways customers since they opened, usually in Cherry Creek, but we met family downtown because it was convenient for everyone. HUGE disappointment to learn that they are now charging $15.00 to park. That's outrageous! ALso disappointed that some of our favorite menu items from CC arent on the menu. The biggest disappointment was one of the sides that we order every time was not nearly as good as cherry creek. In future, we will stick to the CC location.

    It was New Year’s Eve and we were expecting great food and attention. Both were poor. The air conditioning was not working and it was super cold.

    From Josh the bartender to Jeff who delivered our food and especially Tess, our waitress, we couldn’t have asked for anything better! The restaurant was packed but all were in a very festive mood which of course us contagious. A wonderful way to end 2023 and look forward to 2024!! Thank you Tess and Elway’s.

    I had a new year eve reservation for 6 , service was very slow and impersonal. I had Filet Mignon cook to perfection and tasty , sides were very small and average in taste. Wine list ridiculously overpriced and be prepared to served the wine your self . They should be better options in Denver than Elway

    The initial round of cocktails took almost 30 minutes. The waiter was nice but had way too many tables. My original Filet Oscar was served cold and then very rare on the second attempt. I was not able to eat it at all. The waiter was good given the circumstances but we could tell the restaurant was closing for remodeling the next day. It was not a good value and our group was very surprised and disappointed.

    This was our New Year’s Eve dinner. Extreme disappointment. $70 steak was undercooked even after sending it back. Asparagus was colder than the steak. Fried squash was good. Ambiance? Not so much. Wish I had my $200 back.
