Delicious brunch with some unique food options. Great service, and attractive environment but a bit loud with a band playing. Prices are higher than usual for brunch but you would expect that at the Brown Palace.

Overall the food was quite good and presented well. The waiter was excellent and attentive. I give overall four stars because I think that prices are a bit high and the ambience sort of cool as opposed to cozy and inviting.

We hosted a bridal brunch and the staff went out of their way to make it special. The music was excellent and they played her song, we danced!!! Beautiful!!!

The band was good but too loud! The space looks like a school cafeteria, no table cloths... looked very unsanitary, very poor quality seating and furniture. The food came late and not necessary fit for the prices. The server forgot our order a few times. Definitely not a place I will go again.

Very very disappointed in the ambiance and decor. The Brown Palace is an elegant hotel and the remodel of Ellyingtons looks like a cafeteria and has the feel of one too. Very stark and cold. No decor what so ever. The full spread brunch is no longer except for holidays, although I had been told when I called that they still had the full brunch spread. Not true. Will not be back.

I was disappointed in Ellyngton's at the Brown Palace. The brunch breakfast was mediocre. The eggs were over cooked as was the bacon. They are stingy with the sauces and the sauce was cold. The drinks are way overpriced considering they were mostly ice. $18 for a Bloody Mary that was 3/4 ice. When you combine the parking fee with the price of the food and drinks, $90 was way too much for a breakfast that was not as good as you'd get at Village Inn or IHOP. And if you think you're paying for ambiance, wrong, it was furnished like a cafeteria. And the music was way too loud. We requested to be far away from the music and he took us closer. The service was outstanding which is the only redeeming value of this excursion on a Sunday Morning. Definitely will not be going back.

I was expecting a more special brunch, being that the restaurant is in the Brown Palace. The food was good, nothing special. For the price, it wasn't really worth it. I've had far better brunches at at much less expensive restaurants. The coffee was very good. The service is outstanding. The service, ambiance and price felt very upscale for such a basic breakfast. Perhaps it has been scaled down since Ellyngton's is being renovated (we were seated at the Palace Arms).

Had a great birthday brunch with 10 of family. Independence Room with round table was great. Service staff were attentive and food from breakfast menu was very good.

We had brunch prior to stock show parade. Used the valet parking and validated to save some $$ Food and service were great. Brian palace never disappoints.

Worst experience in over 10 years. Every New Years Day we did a brunch, this is year they were not doing it. The hostess was odd , Made us wait to fix the paper in the menus… our bread , French toast came cold, We had to wait for checkout for 30mins… The Brown Palace is not what it used to be to be from this year… last year at least there was a buffet … Danny the pianist … well service… What happened this year ?

We were CRUSHED that the BUFFET spread was not available. We seemed NOT to be the only diners surprised to a missing buffet service. While our meal was very good and the waiter (Dawa?) was great, we went FOR the buffet, not the al a carte menu. Further, the ambiance was plain in every way. What we would call temporary metal folding tables being used, plain walls, monochrome setting, etc. The piano player got there only when most of the diners had come and gone. Our waiter was great, as stated, but most of the waitstaff was hurried, lacking any grace, etc. Wearing plastic gloves while serving our plates? - really?? We were getting ready to see those grey plastic bussing tubs come out next. NOT what we would expect from the Brown Palace. We were told the return of the buffet was "under consideration" - frankly, I'd close the area down until the buffet can be re-instated. Maybe as the room was NOT at full occupancy on a Sunday (and New Year's Eve) should be an indication of at least some diners realizing some of the shortcomings and forgoing this experience. Upon leaving and seeing the very nice tea service being served in the extended lobby made the contrast even worse.

Great way to spend the holidays! We go every year — this year was a bit slow with service, and I could tell they were busy and understaffed. Very quaint, my dad was probably the loudest person in the restaurant but otherwise it’s a wonderful place to spend money on $20 per person brunch, they are very accommodating with special requests (we all got the Benedict’s which turned out PERFECT) and we will absolutely be back next year! We took plenty of pics and the staff was more than happy to help us take a group pic at the grand staircase. I also got to drink out of the artesian water fountain, see the gorgeous and breathtaking chandelier, and enjoy family. Xoxo

Our family has enjoyed the Brown Palace Christmas buffet several times in the past. This year the expense was astronomical! We paid almost $1000 for 6 people, two were kids. Also Elingtons has a new look but it's not an improvement. The noise level was high and the food 'so-so. We probably won't be back as we did not get value for our money

Hello, We have been at the Christmas Lunch at the Brown for many years. Over-all the experience and cost this year was not near the positive level as in prior years. The venue and food not up to the high level as in the past.

Very disappointed! Crowded, noisy, terrible service. What happened to the elegant Ellyngton’s of holidays past? Desserts forced out into hallway? Restrooms reconfigured? Weird. Very expensive.

Excellent choice for our Christmas Brunch! The servers were all so attentive and very nice especially considering it was a holiday. The food was very good. The atmosphere was amazing. Totally enjoyed walking around the hotel afterwards. It is absolutely beautiful.

Christmas Eve Sunday brunch at Ellington’s. Pricey but you get what you pay for ! Michael was phenomenal - great holiday cat shirt and he can sing as well !! Awesome breakfast offerings and wide variety other foods and desserts. You won’t leave hungry ! Very happy that regular Sunday brunch will be offered again and restoration will be complete soon.

They were still under construction so we were sitting at folded tables with white table cloths. We were expecting to order off the menu as there was nothing online stating any different. When we arrived it was buffet style, which was totally fine. However, when ordering off the menu it was around $20-25 a plate. When we received our bill for 4 people it was $647. I was in tears. I don't have money like that to spend on a meal. I was just trying to take my family out for a nice brunch and saved $200 to do that. So needless to say I am still extremely upset and will never return.

Nice Christmas Eve brunch. Great selection, and the food was good. I think they may have been a little short staffed as it was taking them longer than usual to clear tables and seat people. Can’t wait to see what the actual furniture looks like when it arrives; the restaurant is a bit bland at the moment, and the layout is a bit awkward. But, overall, we enjoyed the experience.

Delicious breakfast! The Crab Omelette was the most elegant taste, not overpowering with crab, light and refreshing hollandaise sauce, and a soft crunch from the asparagus. Crispy outside with creamy inside on the hash browns. Coffee was to die for. Service with a smile! :)

Our party of six was there for a five year old’s birthday celebration and it was wonderful. Our server, Jeni, was outstanding, professional and personable. The omelets, Benedict and pancakes were all delicious. The breakfast was actually served in the Palace Arms which is elegant but not stuffy. Jeni made sure we were well taken care of. The other staff(Sandee and a male server) were friendly and helpful. Thanks to all of them for making it a perfect and memorable occasion.

Was not served until 11:24 for our 10:15 reservation. I was initially given an outdated menu, and the item I selected was unavailable. Waited a painfully long time again to place our order. Apologies, but no concessions. I was with my 5 year old son, and eventually had to let him watch a movie on my phone, as it was just too much to ask him to wait that long. Lovely updates, but I presume they could manage to hire a few extra staff. We had already been granted a late check out, but had to rush back to our room so we wouldn’t get locked out. Disappointing. But the chandelier is still worth it, and I suspect they know it.

We were disappointed to find out that it was not a buffet service despite being told it would be when I called. No bother, we were sure whatever we ordered off the menu would be delicious. Unfortunately the service was not up to the standard of a fine dining restaurant, though adequate for perhaps the Village Inn. It took quite a while to be offered drinks, and even longer to be served the incorrect order. Several of us ordered the prime rib hash which was terribly over salted. My children likened the ambience to a wartime hospital. The renovation is not complete and the atmosphere was not welcoming at all. The holiday decorations were sparse at best. The restroom was unmarked and inadequately stocked. The sinks barely had enough soap and the paper towels were outside the area where the sinks are located. There were no trash bins in the "foyer" of the restrooms to toss used paper towels. Parking was also a challenge as the valet service was understaffed. It took nearly 45 minutes to get our car. We have made dining at Ellyngton's a family tradition for the holidays for 15 years, missing only due to Covid. We were massively disappointed across the board because we know they can do so much better on every count. I hope everything improves with the grand re-opening after the renovation is complete.

I realize that Ellyngton's is undergoing a renovation but I felt they could have made more of an effort to place more comfortable chairs for dining. There's an expectation that when you're dining at the Brown Palace that the tables and chairs would be better -- even during a renovation!

Horrible. Made a reservation to celebrate my daughter’s 20th birthday over a month in advance to take place after the “construction” to reopen (from flooding that occurred in 2022). I am not sure what they envisioned for a re-opening but it was nothing more than throwing a few shanty banquet tables with linens (no table mats) into a room with Poor lighting, hvac that clearly needs cleaning and attention and and overall atmosphere that was stark, depressing, less than inviting and vacant. My daughter works in an assisted living facility and chalked it up to eating in the same dining room she works at. Had we known it was going to be an over priced meal in a gloomy atmosphere we would have kept the reservation we canceled prior to reserving at Ellington’s or at the very least considered the afternoon tea. They are not re-open if you ask me, they are just looking to add or make up revenue with paying bodies where they can.

We didn’t realize that Ellingtons had not resumed their brunch buffet so a little disappointing, but nonetheless, our food was very good. surface was just a little challenging but the manager was awesome and went out of her way to be very helpful and friendly. We have made this tradition for a number of years and my husband and I will be back when the buffet is

The breakfast with Santa Brunch experience was bad. Tiny crappy tables; sterile room with no character; limited food options. No cookie decorating for kids like in the past all for price tag of $240 before tip. IHOP would have been better. This might have been our last visit there.
