What’s NOT to love about FRESHLY MADE FLOUR TORTILLAS??? Yes, the tortillas are lovingly prepared in full view & they are spectacular! Our server was outstanding — Right on top of everything. The food was prepared promptly & perfectly making for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Great food and atmosphere overall, but we have noticed that staff is stretched thin during busy nights like Mother’s Day weekend. As a result, wait time is long and sometime mistakes are inadvertently made. Auto/digital payment tool and/ordering system should be considered to alleviate resource shortage during those times. Maybe have a pool of “on-call”, supplemental waiters who are pre-trained and are available on a short notice ?

Exceptional service, food, and overall ambience! We had the best waitress, Julie was amazing! Our experience was perfect! We highly recommend El Torito Brea!

Reservations don't mean anything at El Torito Grill. We waited over an hour to get seated. Waiting area was overcrowded, it was raining and we had to stand outside. El Torito Grill did nothing to accommodate customers. Reception staff were very rude. I'd avoid coming here for any future celebration s.

On Sunday I hosted a baby shower at the brea location. The patio was beautiful, the weather was nice , we were allowed to decorate a s much as we wanted, we were provided an extra table for our gifts! The buffet food at the brea El Torito is far better than any other location! All my co-workers are saying so too. The waiter kept the mimosa coming so we had a good time 😆 They said they’re gonna come back with their spouses. It really doesn’t even feel like you’re at an el Torito but at a more posh restaurant.

We thought it might be nice to revisit, even though we’ve had issues with food quality and cleanliness in the past. This visit however, a rat was running past our table, in a very crowded restaurant. That was it for us, the manager did discount our check, but that was it for me. Plenty of other choices out there.

Good food especially the tortillas and sweet butter… and sweet corn cake. Chili verde was yummy!! Menudo.. ehhh. The platanos were very yummy. Service was on point. Hot chocolate yummy… iced tea excellent!!

The food and drinks were great as always. The service was ok. We sat in the bar. The waiter took forever to take our order. Never brought water when we asked. He messed up and didn’t place my dinner order thinking I only wanted an appetizer. Which ended up being ok because I wasn’t that hungry. I will still go back. The food and drinks are good and this was the first time I ever had an issue with the service. Maybe he was new or having a bad day.

The service was top-notch. Great ambiance. The food was ok. There is nothing to get too excited about. The fajitas didn't have much flavor, and the shrimp salad was kind of boring. The tamarind margarita was delicious.

Jonathon was a terrific server. He was timely, attentive, and professionally friendly. Next time we’ll for sure ask to be seated in his area! The food was quite good, except I wished the chopped salad was more chopped. Will absolutely return!!

Our waiter was great! He was friendly and attentive. We celebrated a birthday and he and the staff made it fun with a bday dessert and singing. The food was delicious.

Cons: First of all, we were seated in the bar which is kind of odd since we arrived at 11:45am for a birthday lunch and no one was there. We were disappointed that there wasn’t a lunch menu. Pros: Food was good and the homemade tortillas were absolutely delicious! The service was excellent and our waiter was on top of it. Thank you!

After having been loyal customers since El Torito Grill opened one of their first locations in Newport Beach, we are sorry to say we will not be gong back again. All of the fun entrees that made this such a stand-out TexMex restaurant are gone (duck nachos and Santa Fe Torte, to name just two). Now it's just another Mexican restaurant in a region awash with them, with nothing but the tortillas a honey butter to recommend it. The food was served lukewarm and did not meet our expectations at all. The manager was very kind and adjusted our bill, and we regret that the experience was such that it just wasn't worth repeating. Adios, El Torito Grill. It was fun while it lasted.

Service was great but the food was a little overcooked and dry. Ordered the fajita trio and the protein had good flavor but a bit dry. Drinks, salsa and tortillas were very good. And the servers were the best.
