alma’s tortilla soup was disappointing like thick tomato soup with a little shredded chicken top. The shredded brisket relleno was average…mostly meat with some spice.

After two visits here it is safe to say that this establishment does not register food sensitivities or full out things that people are completely intolerant to. The first time I ate here cheese was on my tacos after I confirmed that it was dairy free. As it was melted on the bottom I didn’t realize it. The manager was very nice about it but I was incredibly sick for two weeks. The second time, after saying I had an extreme dairy intolerance and also gluten intolerance I was served guacamole with cheese and chips that were cross contaminated. Another order of guacamole took almost 40 minutes and had the same chips. Service was horrible for the second meal. It’s a shame because some of the food is really tasty.

Our server JL was THE BEST! We ate here before the Madonna show and there were lots of people going to the same event, they played Madonna and brought the good vibes before the show!!

last minute booking. It was a spectacular experience. Margaritas weren't too sweet. One of ordered something that they didn't like and they happily exchanged it without cost. Chips light and crispy. Both appetizers and entrees were interesting, tasty and the portions were excellent. the service was attentive but not overbearing. A truly lovely experience.

I booked a patio table for brunch for my birthday and the host/server refused to honor my reservation despite even putting a card down for it. Extremely unaccommodating and rude and dishonest establishment and staff. The food took forever and the table the gave us was too small for our party. There are much better brunch spots in this area, try Hanks!

We love to eat at El Chile. Always go before seeing a play at Bass. Easy for people to get there after work and still have time for a margarita, queso, dinner before heading to the play. The food is good. We had the fajitas this time and they were delicious. The pozole was very spicy but yummy. Highly recommend. Especially if you can sit on the patio!

Such a wonderful experience! The food, especially the chicken tinga enchiladas were delicious. From the appetizer to dessert, everything was so delicious. This is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been do in Austin. The staff was outstanding and so kind, everything was clean, food was hot and fresh, tres leches was perfect! 10/10!

The food and the service were fantastic! The Chile relleno was the best I’ve ever had. I always order a chile relleno at my first visit to a place that serves them; it’s one of the ways I judge a restaurant. El Chile’s was tops! Our server was fantastic. He recommended my dish.

We had a Sunday brunch before a UT baseball game. It was a great day to be on their patio. We were promptly seated, but it took some time before a waiter brought water and took our drink and appetizer order. We then waited again for some time before the waiter came back to take our main order. After we ordered, the patio began to fill up. We noticed that people adjacent to us who ordered well after us received their food before us. Our food finally came. The best dish in our group was the barbacoa chile relleno. We will probably go back. We hope that the restaurant works out their staffing and attention to customers.

What we enjoyed were the chips and salsa as well as the cocktails. They are always balanced. Friends loved their chicken poblano cream enchiladas. The hosts and bartenders are always great. Menu is large but not necessarily allergen friendly. Servers don’t know whats in dishes.

I came here for a quick bite with my brother, and the man at the front told me there was going to be an hour wait. My brother and I then went online and got a reservation for 15 minutes later. When we came back there was little to no one in the restaurant. The guy at the front just completely lied to us for reasons that we could not figure it out. Left a bad taste in my mouth, but overall the food kind of made up for that.

The server had not worked there much and didn't know much about the menu items. She did not bring requested items and 2 out of the 4 entrees did not contain any meat or the correct meat. She also said because of the problems, she would take off the cost of the 2 entrees. However, she only took off $2. Unfortunately, we won't return.

Our waitperson was wonderful. The food was delicious. Only one comment. For a nice brunch on a Sunday morning (at 10:00 a.m.) the music could have been a bit quieter and less "top 40s." Some soft country, piano, or anything more mellow. I love top 40's but not on a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning enjoying a nice brunch with friends. We sat outside so maybe the waitstaff inside did not realize how loud it was, and what was planning. Thanks!

Perfect location for anyone catching a show at the Moody or Bass Concert. The staff were extremely accommodating for our tight timeline. The food was delicious and served quickly. The margaritas are amazing. One of our favorite “go to” locations.

Hadn’t been there in at least 10 years, was so happy to see it thriving in its new space, and the food is still top-notch.
