Reliably excellent food. Innovative fusion cuisine plus traditional Asian dishes. Great selection of sakes. Poke bowls are outstanding as are tempura veggies.

Service was very, very good. Not too intrusive but always available. Food overall was a bit average. Tempura was very good. Better sushi is available other places, bit still not bad. Had two different bento boxes and both were okay. Lunch was worth the cost, but not sure about dinner value.

I had the best birthday dinner with my family here! Our server Orion was so friendly and made eating a pleasure. Everything we ordered was delicious, well-seasoned, and well-priced. All of the staff there made the experience even better. So friendly, prompt, and attentive. The value for the price is perfect. Perfect spot for a casual bite but can also easily turn into a date night spot. We will be back!

The hostess was great at getting us a table we requested in our reservation even though we still had to wait for it. Our server was friendly, for once. The wait staff has been terrible for years. She did charge us for something we couldn’t eat. The ‘family style’ is ridiculous especially when you say I want to start with… and it comes after your main entree when it’s an appetizer. They are not family sized sharing portions. The food was mediocre. The beef sticks were all fat. The Philly tasted gross. The walnuts on the Brussel chips doesn’t go. They were also drenched in oil and they tasted like the oil was bad.

1 of 2 entries arrived before the appetizers, the second entries arrived cold. We were seated next to the front door on a cold and windy nite, we wore our coats throughout dinner. BTW, we arrived 20 minutes early, the receptionist forgot about us and we were not seated until 30 minutes later... all the 5:30 crowd arriving after us were seated... away from the front door.

As locals, we have been long time customers of East by Southwest. We managed to get early reservations on Valentine's day. Ordered appetizers and drinks. Our appetizer was delayed due to malfunctioning kitchen equipment. We ordered our entrees. My first choice was apparently no longer served by the restaurant despite being on the menu. I asked for the menu back so I could choose another entree. My entree arrived before the appetizer and I said I would rather have it after I enjoy the appetizer. They took my entree away, arrived about 15 min later with the appetizer as well as well as my husbands entree. We gave up, said just bring the food, including my now luke warm entree. We knew it was busy, equipment malfunctions happen and were pleasant about everything. When we had finished eating, we had spent about $160 between apps/drinks/entrees. We were brought the check and we asked if instead, we could see a dessert menu (after all, it was Valentine's Day and we had been looking forward to a nice treat all day!). The waiter left and returned with...the check. He told us they needed to turn the table. I asked, "Seriously, you are not going to let us order a dessert"? The answer, was no, they needed the table. (It was a longer than normal meal due to their errors and issues, not ours) Well, no dessert for us on Valentine's day then...so disappointing. I did write to EbySW to tell them of the experience, hoping they would reach out with at least an apology. That was a week ago, and so far, crickets..

Mohito delicious. Seafood dynamite used to be a much bigger portion in a bed of white rice. Birthday celebration was impersonal. Nobody mentioned Miguel Wagner's name, although I said in my reservation he was turning 23. The surcharge in the bill must be immediatly removed. It rings unethical. Do not think that saying it is in the menu makes it right. Thank you Ruth and Robin

Read a previous review and was nervous but we loved our evening! Great waiter, food was delicious, no negatives from our party of 7! Would definitely go back when in Durango!!

We've been here quite a few times, this was my wife's favorite place to eat. That was until our last visit, the food was very disappointing, and the pricing was to high for the quality of the meals that were served. Not sure if or when we will be going back.

Waiter was slow getting to our table - helped people who got seated after Might be disconnected from the host stand/seating but food was good and waiter after I asked if we had one

Service was good. Sushi was slow to come out and just ok. Steaks were overcooked. Place was packed so maybe we were there on an off night. Might try again on a week night.

Recent dinner. Service good. Rolls as usual good. Their special rice tots (especially the Hamachi ones) were delicious! Inventive and tasty. Husband disappointed Kirin was only option when he requested Asahi. Wait staff pleasant despite being extremely busy

We had requested the Sushi Bar when we made our reservation. When staff went to seat us there was someone occupying one of seats and they would not move. This could have been ugly, but staff was very gracious to us, apologized and offered us two seats at the bar. Bartender was very attentive and got orders in exactly as requested. The food was excellent as usual but the actions of the Hosts and Bartender made it extra special. Too bad some people are jerks, but these folks made our evening lovely!
