Makes me sad to write this about one of our favorites! Mother's Day dinner was a terrible experience top to bottom, and we owe the owners honest feedback in hopes of improvement. We didn't mind being seated inside even though we requested outdoor dining. We started to notice an issue when we received water for the table, but no bread. One of our six menus had no menu sheets inside so we shared. A server asked about a drink order and we learned that the Bloody Mary mix was no more, so we subbed another choice. The Shirley Temples were watery and had no cherries-- isn't that what they're famous for? After lingering for 30+ minutes we asked about placing an order, and made another ask for bread. We were told upon ordering that one entree was out, but only after ordering did we learn that two other protein entrees we wanted were also out; we subbed those for pasta and duck meals. Appetizers took a long time to come out, still no bread, and no water refills. Until we asked again. Evident by this time no one was paying attention, we lingered a while longer before entrees were served. Our three tagliatelle dishes were tasty but greasy, the two duck entrees were luke-warm and overly salty, and the med-well strip steak came med-rare and was sent back for more heat. And still, no bread. 2+ hours in- we decided to call an early end to the night and asked for the check before any dessert orders. The final insult? The itemized bill that included, at the very bottom, a $10+ 'Kitchen Appreciation Fee' . Really? Our experience this evening was not mixed- it was just terrible top to bottom; service, management attention to operation, food quality, food timing, etc. Nice touches like real towels for hand drying in the washrooms are wasted when the bin to collect the towels overflows onto the floor- symbolic, perhaps, of a wonderful Boston place with no one at the helm.

Food was not good, though it was edible. But absolutely not worth the money. They also tried to deny us the table we had reserved and instead tried to stick us in a dark corner. Restaurant GM was a real jerk about it. I had to tell him off for 5 minutes before he finally gave us our reserved table. And I watched the restaurant during our whole time there - never were they anywhere near full. So the GM is just a jerk. Really too bad that what used to be a nice restaurant has turned into such a low quality place.

First time - good and convenient for pre-concert dining. Odd space where we were seated diminished the ambiance. Service was very good and not fussy. Food is good but not authentically French. Starters and mains were excellent. Deserts were unappealing and much more complicated than one would expect in a good Euro or French restaurant. Wine selection is excellent.

We had a great time celebrating our graduation season at Deuxave. Trevor once again was amazing and made the night special and memorable for us. The French onion soup was to die for, and we loved the desserts!

What a fantastic dinner. Pamela waited on us and made the experience so much better. Crispy skinned chicken and halibut were fantastic. And the chocolate soufflé was a perfect ending to the meal. We will definitely return the next time we are in Boston.

Our party of 3 had the 5 course dinner with wine pairing. We were surprised that 2 of the 5 dishes were Italian instead of French. Overall, the food was mediocre and for the price….. we were disappointed. The wine was the better element of the experience.

Eight dollars for bottled water is ridiculous. They should tell us before they serve water. tapwater would be totally fine. I’m going there again with some out-of-town guests in two weeks. I will make sure they know that I will not be paying for bottled water.

this is a gem of a restaurant, been there many times over the years, they never disappoint. highly professional & knowledgeable service staff, beautiful presentation of all dishes, excellent portion size ( no, this is not a place to overeat like chain restaurants) nice instrumental background music - not too loud, so perfect for a conversation. yes it isnt cheap, but even fast food chains raised their prices to ridiculous levels. impeccably clean bathrooms ( not a given in most restaurants, even expensive ones) will definitely go back any chance I get.

Amazing! Our waiter said the confit was the best anywhere and he wasn't joking, you must order the duck confit and try it yourself! The wait staff was perfectly attentive and respectful, the ambiance was wonderful and the food, of course, out of this world. We will go back often!

We had a beautiful evening! The service was excellent and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding and beautifully presented. Since the noise level was muted, we could actually hear each other talk, which is uncommon in most restaurants today! Deuxave is a little gem of a restaurant!

So glad we came here for dinner during marathon weekend. Service and food was top notch. Spring salad was quite large and good to share. Duet beef was wonderful. Halibut and chicken was beautiful and tasty. Brioche rolls were so fresh and delicious. Loved our experience!

Outstanding experience. Highly recommend doing the complete 5 course dining experience. The food was incredible.

A special restaurant with a special charm. Food preperation is what you would expect at a fine French restaurant. Overall a wonderful experience. It is expensive, but you get more than you money's worth.

The food was amazing, delicious and very artistically presented. We had the duck liver pate, onion soup, beet salad, duck, Cavatelli, scallops and chocolate soufflé. All exceeded expectations. We have dined here several times previously and DeuxAve never disappoints. Service is discreet and excellent.

Food was top-notch. Presentation was next level. Service was outstanding. Drinks were creative and delicious. Wine selection requires a sommelier to navigate, but the good news is they have one of those too. Can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. You will spend big money, but it is worth every cent. Will definitely be back.
