Wife got the turkey and gravy. I just wanted a cheese burger. We finished with the huge German chocolate cake piece....of course brought half the cake piece home.....just to huge but amazing as usual.

Delish food, great service, kitschy atmosphere. Love it here. We felt like breakfast in the evening which they serve at all hours except for the french toast I was so craving and pancakes. Settled for the waffles which were made perfectly and lobbed with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. They weren’t the batter and water, all too crispy Marriott hotel kind. They’re thick, delicious, eggs and milk style. You can’t go wrong!

Have had many good meals and definitely desserts here, but the steak sandwich wasn’t at all what I expected. Wish I hadn’t ordered it.

It was a great experience and our waitress Tawny made it even better! I ordered a danish and she had it heated and served with butter and it was delicious! We will definitely dine again!

We love the Copper Cafe and go there the most when we stay at the Madonna Inn or pass through town. (We’re from San Diego.) The cakes are the best! We tried four while there last. We loved the pickles and the large slivers of cheese in the Chef Salad. Yum! We also love the use of the Madonna Inn glasses. We’ll be back!

We had requested a window table but when got there they didn’t have any. I asked to be seated at a table closer to the window but the guy who walked us to the table said he can’t because the waiter serving that section already has enough to serve so he seated us at a different table. I felt this was not a good response

I was extremely disappointed. We chose to eat here since we stayed on property, and honestly wish we had gone somewhere else. We were seated quickly, but service itself was super slow and the waiter we had was very eh. He seemed like he hated his job, kept conversation and questions to a minimum, plus didn’t come to our table for a very long time. The water tasted metallic, so that was a waste. We ordered a simple two egg meal, and it was mediocre. Had no flavor, was warm not hot, and hashbrowns were completely mushy. The only upside would be the amount of bacon you receive, and how tasty it actually was. The ambience is awesome, noise level was typical restaurant. However, for the price and reputation I thought our meal was a huge miss and overpriced. Definitely won’t take the time to eat here again.

Very interesting place to eat. Has an over-the-top theme like everything at the Madonna Inn. Good menu with great bakery items. What’s really cool is that you can also order from the steak house menu.

I dine at the Copper Cafe often and usually have no issues, but this time I sat in the bar area and the service was less than stellar. I am not one to tell someone how to do their job, but when taking an order, please write it down. If the order is written down then there is less chance for errors. The server forgot to toast the bread even though I made sure he understood before I left the table. I realize it is a small mistake, but servers are not impressing me by not writing things down. I would rather get my order correct the first time than marvel at your memory.

While I have a deep and abiding love for the Madonna Inn and the Copper Cafe, this experience did not live up to my expectations. Despite having a reservation, we were still waiting for a table after about 30 minutes. When I approached the stand, because members of my group were getting desperate for food, a table was made ready. We were seated and given menus, but when after another 15 minutes no one had stopped by to even offer us water, we decided to leave. I was incredibly disappointed and in the future will hesitate to choose to dine here.

Food and service was great. It's hard to be here and go back home. The coffee was nice, the mimosas were made well. I never got to go here as a child but I will be eating here everytime we are in San Luis Obispo.

I had the special it was Cowboys Benedict with a biscuit fried on the flat grill with butter, sausage, scrambled eggs, and gravy. It was the greatest thing ever.

There was old dried coleslaw stuck on the sugar dish. During our meal a pie e of tape gloated down from the air duct above, there were numerous pieces of colored tape still stuck on the airvent, and the airvent itself was dirty. My mother was looking for a pkg of sugar and found old jelly beans loose in the bowl with the sugar Very long wait for our food, longer then usual We enjoy coming to the cafe, but all these things added up to a negative experiance. We will continue to come, but I think The airvents need to be cleaned, and more attention should be given to the resetting of the tables,

We love the copper cafe, we frequent it often. The staff is always lovely. Our favorite server is Steven. He’s the best! Good is delicious and the carrot cake is the best!!!!

I loved the Madonna Inn and the Copper Cafe just added to that feel. It is quaint and charming and the staff is fabulous. The food was exceptionally great. I would go back in a heartbeat if I could. HIGHLY recommend.

Sat for over 20 minutes and wasn’t served water or acknowledged by any waitress at all! We ended up leaving without our lunch. I’m very disappointed I’m not sure it’s worth making a reservation if they don’t have the wait staff to handle customers.

My husband’s roast beef was good and the portion was generous. I ordered the Monte Cristo. The sandwich was okay and was served with a generous portion of three flavors of jam. Our server was really sweet. Considering the ticket price, we probably won’t return.

The perfect breakfast spot for this delightfully decadent hotel. It’s rare to be in a restaurant where everything is in such a good mood, even the people waiting in their tables. The food was dynamite and the service friendly and fast.

The restaurant had a fun vibe but food was not anything special and the price was a bit too much for the style of food served. Chicken sandwich was served in toasted slices of white break. Chicken tasted good but the cheese was cold and not melted. We did not try the bakery which by the look of it is what they are really known for. They looked amazing and pieces were massive. Service was good and wait staff were very friendly. Overall it was a good experience.

The place is worth a visit for sure, and the cakes are to die for. The lunch menu is expensive and not that great, it’s average and limited. The Steakhouse looks AMAZING and I hope to dine there soon.

As a 4th gen local my husband and I eat at The Copper kettle at least once a week. The food is always good. We always make a reservation because it's quite popular and always busy. I love the Madonna's Ruben and sweet potatoes fries with aoli sauce. The employees are friendly and the bill is moderate. We also eat at the Steakhouse and purchase online take out often. I give it 5 stars!

From the moment I arrived at the restaurant until I left following lunch I wish treated like royalty. Literally everyone was extremely professional and made you feel very welcome. The food was delicious.

We had a reservation and still had to wait 15 minutes before being seated. Not once did they acknowledged that there was a birthday. My daughter's ham and cheese melt ...the cheese wasn't even melted. I asked for extra crispy hashbrowns, not extra crispy. For what you pay I expect better.
